I don't knw what transpired BTW u and that woman at national assembly but when I was going home on the said day from work, I met u convoy on my way home from work around city gate. Though its wasn't 20 cars in ur convoy, its was abt 4 I saw, but the men in ur convoy were unruly. They were swiving from one side of the road to another so that no car could over take them. The police in ur convoy even pointed their gun at Me when I tried to overtake the convoy

Contrary to popular stereotype on this issue, I am constrained to note that since this news made headlines yesterday, I have been worried.
The seeming silence of the Controller General further made It more confusing.
Without fear or favour, I want to state that watching a woman being beaten up even on his behalf is NOT and I repeat is NOT in the character of the Dr Ekpendu that I have been privileged to know for years.
While I do not rule out the possibility of overzealousness of aide I personally refuse to believe the account of Dr Ekpendu watching a woman being "slapped" by his aides.
If this is a calculated aattempt to stain his spotless and enviable record simply because he is an Igbo man, then be assured that it will be resisted at all cost.
Oh lest I forget, were there no cameras around the NASS Complex or were they not working?

Can you imagine. Just who do these people think they are. They've seen what the COAS got away with in Zaria and now they all want to do their own blood sport.

Okay, Now I'm not holding brief for the CG of prisons neither am I supporting the actions of the aides slapping the lawmaker. But there are certain things that need to come to light and everyone should take note.

The CG is entitled to have armed escorts. With all the mafias, cabals and terrorist groups running around town and some of them locked up or held in detention, the CG and even his close family members can become soft targets. If one terrorist or ayatollah group whatever that means pick him up, they could jail break their members locked up by the govt.

Now the lawmaker attempted overtaking the CG's convoy at the gate. This, in all ramification, is totally wrong!!! Rules governing military convoys require other road users to treat convoys as a 'single vehicle'. When the first vehicle in the convoy passes an intersection, the other vehicles must be allowed to do so without any interruption. Convoy rules also require other road users to follow at an acceptable distance and can only overtake when the convoy gives permission to do so. Clearly, madam lawmaker driving was seen as aggressive driving and who knows in today's world of espionage and terrorism, the CG's aides were agitated.

Having said that, I don't subscribe to the physical handling of the lady. There are other defensive driving techniques the aides could have used to block off the lawmakers car.

Safety First.

I hv seen ds man's convoy several times along airport road...and there was nothing close to half of 20 cars on it...people should mind to say the truth...if that woman actually received a slap from a uniformed man,she would hv made d calls she made from a hospital with a swollen face...our women should seize to beg sympathy because of their sex

Shey you don hear of slap wey de restore brain to default settings..be like na wetin dem dash de woman.
As for the number of cars, It could be that the magnitude of the slap resulted to her seeing a lesser number of cars as being upto 20. Or, she might be right in the number whereas the CG is trying to cover up so as not to be queried for such number of cars.

I wonder why there is an uproar because a member of the House of Reps received a dirty slap,if the woman had being up and doing in her legislative duties in time past, she might have saved herself from this national embarrassment, was she not aware of the daily abuse of human rights by security agents?,what bill did she sponsor to that effect?,now she is a victim and wants the entire Nigeria to sympathise with her.

She had better accept the slap in good faith, next time she might not be so lucky,it could be an accidental discharge, how many Nigerians get slapped daily?,how many innocent Nigerians get killed?,how many times was any security chief summoned?.

This is just a tip of the iceberg, you can never eat what belongs to the masses and go scot free,a time of reckoning and the inevitable law of karma is coming,it might not be now,but it will eventually come.
my brother you have dissected the truth about the matter. only just one slap Nigeria will not sleep because you are a HOR member. see the way they were deliberating the issue on the floor, you would know its because of her status. once more you spoke my mind

Yes he went with about 4 vehicles. (Haba CG going around with about 4, 5 6 vehicles!!! Where is the change?)
In the NASS complex yes the convey from the prison services could have been about 20 ( all his DCG, Asst DCGs that followed him to would have gone with their own convey)
Once you give some ppl gun power n money they feel and act like a king and treat others a little better than pigs. Even not having all but 1 of the above makes them cruel n heartless e.g police
