9.Nigeria's route to economic survival lies with the development of a local industrial sector dependent on raw materials from within. It does not lie in oil.....or in fooling ourselves...the way we have been for decades....with the revenues from resources. I am afraid most Buhari ciritics do not see that. They only see that there is no more free money to chop.
So what plans does this new govt has to diversify the economy? From what we have seen, buhari still has eyes on oil and nothing else. You are blaming buhari critics but yet not blamed buhari or this govt for not structuring a plan to diversify the economy. Till now, buhari is still searching for oil in the north around the chad basin. Does that makes sense from someone who wants to diversify the economy from oil dependency? No fuel, no light, continuous hardship on the people, 4 months is gone and the budget is yet to be signed, people are losing their jobs, companies are closing down due to forex resrictions, foreign investors are leaving the capital market and inflation has risen over 13% the highest in years and you want to people to smile? Sigh....puts on the propaganda hat as usual

Disclaimer: This is not a defence or an attack. Just stating facts.

1.All those Nigerians complaining....what alternatives do they propose?

2.We are in this situation because since independence....our economy has been tied to the price of the resources that we sell. If the price of the resources we sell goes down, we lose revenue....and our economy goes down.

3.Right now...the price of the main resource we sell...oil is down. As a result...the high standards of living that we enjoyed (not that everyone enjoyed it)...has fallen down too.

4.Because we are so dependent on oil...we have forgotten to manufacture things. As a result....we import. When prices are high...we can import as much as we like because we have the money. When prices fall...we can no longer import....and we have to do so at higher prices.

5.Most of the critics of Buhari.....are not really attacking him. They want to sit down and continue to import things that would make them comfy. The fact that they cannot do that is what is making them angry.

6.We can get out of this mess...by spending more on power and industrial development, and less on subsidies, as well as increasing taxes...and using the money saved to develop industrial support infrastructure....which would guarantee a prosperous future. But these people do not want that solution....because it means that we would go through a period of suffering....which they really do not want.

7. Things appeared better under the last admin because we had the forex to buffer the naira, as well as the forex to import goodies. Now...we do not have that forex....and things are harder.

8. Right now....Nigerians are grumbling. But if they want the goodies to come back....that means we have to take a loan from the IMF or we deplete our savings account to keep everyone happy. At the end of the day...we would have a brief Indian summer to be followed by a 1000 year winter.

The era of free things is over. Time we fixed this country.

P.S- If you want free flow of fuel....you would have to deregulate. But....most anti and even pro Buhari people do not want to pay for fuel at high prices. They want cheap fuel.

Well...that is the cold reality. We do not have money. Better tighten your seatbelts. If it is any comfort...if GEJ had saved money, and told the governors to forget sharing....it would have just delayed the evil day longer.
The only leader i will respect and adore in this country is the person who will have the balls to restructure this country. For without it, we are just wasting our time. it dosent matter who is president

This is not about tribalism, politics, ipob or what ever. it is about Nigerians and the country itself.
what is my concern is that people are not saying the truth because of politics.
i pitty some people because, they never see any thing yet. eti rin nkon. Just pray that God will save this Country.
if not that oil price fall, it should been another escuse. APC is not worry because, people have belief their failure by the fall of oil price. do not forget about their promise to this nation and always know that if this country had been distroyed over 16 years, they are not left out because they have always play around with one or two role.
Never forget that this the first quarter of the year and the budget which is the main engine of govt. is still messing around the house.
well, na unua sabi, you better say the truth and live politics out of this matter.

Let me repeat my last sentence again ....

If it is any comfort...if GEJ had saved money, and told the governors to forget sharing....it would have just delayed the evil day longer.

In other words.....even if we had saved.....we would have ended up delaying the current crisis by a year.

If that is blaming GEJ.....it is you that has it wrong.

brotherly, you blamed GEJ, you forgot that the Amaechi led governor's forum took the federal government to court in other to force the federal government to share the excess crude account.

A few years ago subsidy was removed off petroleum products and people chanted #occupynigeria... The it was only increased to #120, now we are buying the same thing at #250 and more why are they not occupying anywhere yet? The first six months of an administration determines where it is headed.... The Change most people requested for has been served... Please enjoy your meal...

Just take a look at the usernames of those chanting 'IstandwithBuhari' and also take a look at the usernames of those chanting otherwise then it will done on you how divided we are in this country. An average Hausa/Muslim/Yoruba would endlessly chant 'IstandwithBuhari' irrespective of whether Buhari is leading us through hell or not, and an average Igbo/South Southerner and a handful of some Christians would always chant 'IstandwithGEJ' irrespective of whether GEJ was a weakling or not. And very unfortunately, our so called leaders are no different. PMB for instance, had an apple opportunity after he was sworn in as president, to be a true HERO and truly prove that 'he belongs to nobody and belongs to everybody' but, very sadly again his actions and in-actions viz-a-viz his key appointments, utterances and body language so far shows that PMB is no different from the typical average Nigerian who is a religious and ethnic bigot. today we are more divided than ever before and there's no HONEST and DELIBERATE policy in sight to TRULY UNITE this country. My heart bleeds for my Fatherland. God please send us a TRUE MESSIAH!

Nigerian youths that don't like to use critical thinking skills. Are you not aware oil price has crashed from $100 dollars under useless corrupt Goodluck Jonathan administration to under $30 dollars a barrel. This means we are earning 3X less than what we did under GEJ regime when everyone was looting the country blind, give Buhari time,he is working with income that has drastically reduced.
