For me its not safe... u can get robbed in a thick forest and no one, I mean no one can save u... as 4 afikpo I went 4 field skool der last year., wen we were doing our geologic mapping we saw a hut in d middle of d forest with a family living der... I was shocked! |

Good of you op. I had wanted to write about rail traveling a long time ago but I do not knw why it kept skipping my mind. I can count the number of times I travel to lagos, abeokuta and ilorin by road( only on emergencies). But I can't count how many times I'v travled to those cities by rail. I prefer traveling by rail anytime, anyday. Its safe and cheap and even fun. |

Thats nice! But we need a modern railway system, a high speed trains at that to reflect Nigeria's status. Another means of transport i so much love and i would want govt. attention is a viable inland&coastal Marine Transport so that Nigerians can have choice of getting to their destination, thereby reducing pressure on our roads. |

law3nity2:Its safe than any other means of transportation. I tell you The highest passenger capacity of some aircrafts is 550, which means it can still be robbed in the space. I doubt any reasonable robber(s) will wanna rob a train with a minimum passenger of 1200 splitted in coaches. I remember leaving the dugbe(ibadan) terminal at abt 9pm one night, we got to itori terminal around 1am. My dear broda, traveling by rail is the safest expecially if yu traveling with valuables |

Odunharry:If truly you can't be patience with it as per time, please don't bother boarding it. But if you want to enjoy your ride from Ilorin just take your mind off time and feel the train. ![]() |

It always a fun time traveling with train, I don't kwn of Port Harcourt to Kano but I kwn of Lagos to Kano. but I will advice u guys never try travelling with train from Lagos to Kano before, during and after public holidays, festive period because it always over crowded with passenger seating in toilet. Last week Friday 15th, I traveled to Minna from Abeokuta, It was a terrible experience, a lot of lost hours occur. |

Lovely post. I thought the whole thing would be ugly n quarter to dead! Thank you o OP. Now looking for the next trip I can use to get on a train. The stations need to improve sha, & the grasses on the rail and only one rail line that caused delay, why now? But good sha, we need more ways to reduce cars on the roads like in developed countries. |
