Joagbaje:A very illogical equation. What is the essence of prophesy if not to change lives? God sees the future or in is also in the future? God knows nothing, that's why he repents. |

TheAgba:so, what sin has God committed ? Provide your evidence with proper Explanation, don't give one sided story. The verse I provide say, the reason God was sorry is NOT because this people are Evil but because their INTENT was to do more Evil. Just because God is omniscient does not mean He will pretend All is well. |

Yes. God thinks. He planned to create the world and to plan is to provoke thoughts. |

malvisguy212:No no no You are wrong. Do you know what repentance means. You can't repent without -realization of wrong doing or wrong thinking -commitment to do the right thing So it means go realized he was thinking wrong and then committed to do right. Any one who has to repent is imperfect even if he has good intentions. "Oh damn! What was I thinking?" That is the thought of a repentant person. So imagine god raving with anger and saying he will destroy the children of isreal. Then moses saying "god, really? You will destroy your own people? After you brought them out of egypt you destroy them and make everyone laugh at you?" I can imagine the look on god's face like "oh sh.it! What was I thinking?" I can imagine god regretting creating man during noah's time and deciding to flood the whole world. That sounds more like an unstable human to me than a god that knows all things. But the problem is in what god has to be. A god must be all knowing, all powerful and all present. Anything less is a god not worthy to be called god. But we humans who speak for god because we created him in the first place are struggling to give a perfect cover for god because we are not perfect ourselves. We don't know what it is to be all knowing. So when we tell stories about god just like in the bible, we end up with stories with a lot of loopholes that makes god more like an ordinary man with exaggerated abilities. |

malvisguy212:Commanding genocide, rape, slavery etc. How would God be so comfortable with a man having another man as his property? There are lots of wickedness God has done. You don't expect the bible to say God sinned. God is a tyrant. And please, we're deviating from the OP. I still need answers to my questions above. |
| Re: Does God Think ? by malvisguy212: 11:21am On Apr 24, 2016 |
TheAgba:why did God command this ? There is different between killing and murder. Murder involves killing unlawfully with premeditated malice. It involves a deliberate, planned, pre-mediated attack against a fellow human being for the purpose of taking his life for reasons that are purely sinful. Give me verse in the bible were such murder is related with God. The op has been answer, God think. So what next ? |
| Re: Does God Think ? by malvisguy212: 11:26am On Apr 24, 2016 |
HardMirror:God’s repentance is not like man’s. I take that to mean that God is not taken off guard by unexpected turns of events like we are. He knows all the future. (“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them,” Isaiah 42:9). Nor does God ever sin. So his repentance is not owing to lack of foresight nor to folly. Rather, the repentance of God is his expression of a different attitude and action about something past or future ,not because events have taken him off guard, but because events make the expression of a different attitude more fitting now than it would have been earlier. |

malvisguy212:Ok. Well explained. It is a typical giving of excuse by man on behalf of god, but at least you tried unlike some that would give explanations that makes no sense. So moses had to tell god the consequence of reacting like a kid that got his candy snatched. Imagine moses telling god not to wipe out isrealites. This god does not seem that bright to me. |

malvisguy212:Please explain this to me. God promised a promise land to the Israelites and that land has been inhabited by other tribes. "Since" God has called that land mass their promise land, he helped kill those who refused to give way for the Israelites. How does that justifies "lawfulness "? or "goodness "? The reason why I'm taking this lightly is because you haven't answered my questions up there and I won't accept any derail. If God thinks then there are many other questions and deductions up there for you. Unless you're afraid of them. |
| Re: Does God Think ? by Nobody: 11:45am On Apr 24, 2016 |
malvisguy212:And why just focus on "killing /murder" only ? You're just like your bible ; incomplete. |

| Re: Does God Think ? by malvisguy212: 12:18pm On Apr 24, 2016 |
TheAgba:The people God gave the israelite their Land, they are worshipers of baal. This gods did not protect them when the israelite invade their land, why ? Because the Land was created by God. So the israelite possessing this land is by the command of God the creator of this earth. Their gods did not protect them. |

malvisguy212:You have a land and just because I have power more than you, I would then displace you of the land and say I am right just because I am more powerful? You're wicked like your God. I don't expect you to agree that God has been dishumane to mankind. And please, you still have my questions up there staring at you. Also... Is God good because we say he is good or God is good because he says he is good? |
| Re: Does God Think ? by malvisguy212: 4:37pm On Apr 24, 2016 |
HardMirror:its is the way your canal mind interpret the verse, the israelite are God's children, when they turn against God, God anger rose against them, moses had to pleaded with Him, we see such thing happen when moses was alive, on many occasion, moses pleaded with God. If God should destroy the isrealite, then the covenant He had with Abraham ,isaac and jacob will not be fulfill. Deuteronomy 9:26 I prayed to the LORD and said, "Sovereign LORD, do not destroy your people, your own inheritance that you redeemed by your great power and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Many times moses had to intervene for the stubborn israelite. |

malvisguy212:What a daft god. So moses had to keep a leash on the psycho until he eventually killed moses. What a sad tale |
| Re: Does God Think ? by HardMirror(m): 4:53pm On Apr 24, 2016 |
TheAgba:Relating with god is like relating with a psycho. You have to love him even when you don't. Truth is many just shout " I love god" based on what is called the stockholm syndrome. Proud atheist here. I have not for a second regret dumping the bible. Just read what malvisguy wrote about moses and god. He is always wanting to kill and destroy. Sounds more like a spoilt brat to me. The humans that invented the bible must be very daft |

malvisguy212:He choose the Israelites to be a blessing or a curse? He used the Israelites to kill yet you say to bless the whole nations. You indeed know not what you serve and preach. |

TheAgba:Do you believe in your thoughts or do you trust in your own thinking as expressed above to be true? C.S. Lewis put it like this: "Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind. In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking. It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought.I think therefore, there is a Supreme Thinker. Simples. ![]() |
