Please, What profile is decent enough for a school like University of Texas, Austin.

gunther6:

Too late for Fall 2016... You can try Spring 2017 or better still Fall 2017, Most Fall 2017 application would open by August and application to most decent schools are due by January/February.
Now let me speak the truth to you one which I learned the hard way, while your profile is decent it is by no means awesome and by awesome I mean Top 20/Top 50 awesome. Don't make selections like University of Texas, Austin, University of Notre dame , Vanderbilt University and feel you have applied... Spread your risks I am not telling you not to aim high but be realistic.
If you can write another GRE do so, 307 is not that awesome. That been said many schools offer assistantship for Environmental science/engineering. Wish you all the best

that's d spirit. u can check European schools too
Yeah bro, I have been applying to european schools, my initial target had been uk, but it was later I realised that choosing U.S. Would be a better option. Funding in UK is hard to get. Applied for the Hungarian government scholarship, still waitng for the outcome. I am still praying sha. Thanks

See, you already have an idea of how it works. Its time to start searching for schools you would like to apply. Would you like to consider PhD application? If you have the money for application fees and transcript, I would advice you apply to not less than 6 schools to be on a safe side. When you're done streamlining schools, you can post them here for critique or simply write out your profile so people can probably drop one or two schools for you. www.msinus.com and www.usnews.com
Thanks a bunch bro, highly. Appreciated

Typically, this is better done one-on-one with a Professor doing something bit related to a research area in your field. It happens a lot between CS and EE since they have few things in common. Do your research and find someone, make sure you know virtually everything they are working on (research), show a really good motivation to want to work with that Professor based on their research work. Then send them an email to them to fix an appointment, attach your resume and you can do a brief cover of yourself in the email..nothing long. Meet with them and be sure to really show you're motivated to work with them...if possible, print out some stuffs that they've worked on. Pray and hope for the best.

1) What's MPA. If the "M" stands for masters adding MS after makes no difference since only MPA is on your I-20.
3) Yes, the letter and your SOA as back up would be a great idea.
please is there any such thing as a post graduate diploma in USA just like Canada cos I don't want to risk applying for a masters I want to gather experience on ground before applying for masters if you know what I mean

Why post graduate diploma? Are you looking for an escape route?

well you may not know my limitations now but let me explain to you I find the masters requirements tiresome as I work through out the week and may not have the time for the so many tests and exams prerequisites, but it's my passion to go for the masters

You find masters requirements tiresome? Very funny. You may not have time for many test and prerequisites and you say you're a genuine student. Start off by saying you would like to elope to the US and want to use post graduate diploma as means. Then people can guide you towards that route.

I wouldn't advice you to come without Assiatantship except you have the money. You can go get your visa but don't come without checking your pocket

Nothing like that but there is post baccalaureate which is for taking prerequisites in case you need some prereqs before getting admitted to a program of your choice. Mostly for admission into professional programs.

She would have actually placed a quote on her page for verification. All these over zealous bloggers, blogging crap. You even need a CPT approval to be able to work off campus for internship.

The only approved means is to apply for Employment Authorization under economic hardship after one year of studies.

I was arguing with someone that you can't work off campus.
Thanks for the shedding more like on this.
God bless you real good

This isnt any new rules. It's always the same terms of the f1 visa. School must be regionally accredited. No job outside campus. If you are to be allowed to work outside campus, mostly after a year in the school, such pre/post opt or declaration of hardship must be approved by uscis first. If you're caught, it's deportation. Same same story.
thanks baba.
pls I sent you a pm

Do you mean you're going for a M1 visa, which is for short term trainings? Anyways, have a good job with good pay. Have a good recommendation from your direct supervisor at work. Have a connection between your current position and the 1 month course i.e the course is tantamount to job promotion. Have good home ties. Be able to convince anyone as to why you need this course. All the best.
