I also have a similar experience of a Pastor in the church I used to attend. He has succeeded in chasing away for families from the church based on several petty behaviours from him. It's rather unfortunate but it does not come as much of a surprise to me. The end times are here. I can boldly say that we were wrongly hounded out of the church. I will reserve the name of the pastor and the church for the sake of decency

Life is a journey, although there might be (acceptable or unacceptable) reasons for the pastor's actions and also, you might or might not be reading the situation wrongly.

In any case, if it is indeed as you say, then you can either change churches, change location, ask the pastor/members what is wrong, or/try to get feedback on what could be the problem.

There are many reasons for such scenarios, politics, ancestral things, etc are also some of them.

What does your user name mean anyway?

You deserve it.

He probably hates you for being such a f.ool to remain in the church that doesn't need you.

Op you havent told the full story.

When did the pastor join the church?

What is the pastor's history as well as his history with you?

Who does the pastor interact with, check them and see if any know you from somewhere.

What issues have been in the church recently?

What is the political situation where you come from? Where the pastor comes from?

Have you had any recent promotion, change in status, etc which is causing resentment in others?

Do you have various third parties who are not members but who handle the affairs of the church?

What is your history- family background, etc.

Did you offend anyone? What was the story?

etc etc.

Assuming the matter can be resolved that is. Not everything can, in which case just move somewhere else or switch churches.

My opinion.

I know thread like this will not make front page, so let me use this opportunity to pass it here:
https://www.nairaland.com/2552255/god-love-innocent-wouldnt-suffer

If God eradicated everyone who has ever
caused pain by selfishness, cheating, lying,
gossiping or hurtful
remarks, who would be left? People say,
"Suffering is God's fault!", In other words,if we
disobey God,it's God's fault?
conveniently forgetting times our own anger,
greed and lies hurt others. To wipe out some
people who cause suffering, and spare you and
me, would make God guilty of gross injustice.
We have each added to humanity's shame.
If there is a God of love, the people he loves
and longs to place in a pain-free world are the
very ones who cause
humanity's suffering.
We are so far from being innocent that we owe
our very existence to sin. If, for example, we
traced our family tree far
enough,we would probably each find an
ancestor born as a result of sin - rape, unlawful
Inbreeding, a despised pregnancy,
sex before marriage, and the like.
Humanity can boast only ONE PERFECT PERSON
. We killed him.
Frequently, we hear or read a comment like
this:
"I simply cannot believe in a God who
permits innocent children to starve and suffer,
and men like Hitler and Stalin to murder
millions of people."
The examples may vary, but the thoughts are
always the same. Supposedly, this is "proof" that
either God doesn't exist, or that if He does, He
either doesn't care about our sufferings, or He is
not powerful enough to do
anything about them. But suffering is neither
proof of God's non-existence or
existence. Saying, "If God exists, why is
there suffering?" is like saying "If San Francisco
exists, why are there earthquakes?" Do
earthquakes occur because San Francisco
causes them? Or do they occur in spite of San
Francisco? Or do they have nothing to do with
San
Francisco? Well, we know the answer to that
question because we know about San Francisco
and we know about
earthquakes. But how much do we really know
about God? If we define Him by our own nature,
then He cannot be of
any greater character than ourselves.
We may ascribe to Him a greater power than
ourselves, but when we suppose that God
should or should not act like this or that, then all
we are really saying is, "He should act like I
would if I
were God."
STARVING:
Now, let's look at starving children. The Bible
says that in the beginning, God created the
heavens and the earth. That
includes everything necessary to feed and
provide for its inhabitants. Can anyone deny
that the earth is capable of producing more than
enough food to feed the entire globe? Well then,
if people are starving, whose fault is that? If God
made the earth, is He also supposed to plant
and distribute our crops for us? Do you
remember the tons of food that were shipped to
Ethiopia,
but did not reach the starving people who
needed it? Whose fault was that?
The reason that over 90% of the masses have
barely enough to survive on,is that there is a
problem of DISTRIBUTION, not of SUPPLY .A tiny
minority have far more than they need,
depriving the many.
SUFFERING:
Regarding suffering that is the result of sin, what
could be clearer than Romans 1:28–29 and
Galatians 6:8–9? The
unbeliever may stomp about with all vigor and
complain that it is "bigotry" to associate the rise
of AIDS and other diseases to sin; that biblical
morality is
narrow-minded, outdated, and totally wrong.
But this fact is unalterable: In a society where
biblical morality is abandoned, suffering always
increases.
Where biblical morality is followed, suffering
always declines. Always. (Isa.59:1-4).
As to Hitler, Stalin, street gangs and senseless
murders: Would any of these things happen if
people followed the teachings of Jesus? Do you
realize what
this world would be like if people simply
followed God's instructions? There would be no
murder, no wars. There would be no welfare,
because families
would take care of their own (and families
would stay together) and those who did not
have families would be
provided for by their fellow-members in Christ.
There would be no starvation… I could go on,
but the point is: God has
provided us answers; whose fault is it that we
don't seek them or heed them when we find
them?
I suspect that those who use suffering as a
"proof" of God's non-existence would not want
to have their free choice taken away from
them, but that's exactly what God would have to
do if He were to enforce His will on the earth.
For if God were to intervene in the matter of
suffering, would He not also intervene in the
matter of sin? If He did, He would have to be a
dictator.
Then how would we react? We would not want
that, and according to the Bible, God doesn't
want it either. He wants us to obey Him because
we want to, not because we have to. And in
order to accomplish this, He must allow two
things to happen. First, in order to grant us free
choice, He must provide us with graphic
examples of the consequences of the wrong
choice. Secondly,He must allow injustices and
sufferings; otherwise he'd provide sinful
mankind with every blessing and benefit
without restriction. If everything in this life was
fair, good and happy, what need would there be
to seek a better life? Why would we seek a
Deliverer, if there was nothing to be delivered
from? Suffering is not something that ought to
turn people away from God, but draw them to
Him.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR THIS POST.
I wish you quoted all the loud mouth atheists who blame God for the lies they tell. They expect God to stop them from after all he is all knowing, so should know that they will lie and should moved in quickly to stop them before they lied.

Someone had the guts to quote Steve Jobs, saying Steve Jobs became an atheist because he saw pictures of starving Biafran kids and could not reconcile that with a loving God.
A man as intelligent as Steve Jobs could be as dumb as a sheep to reason that way.

And then I made reference to a politician whose Bank account, just one of his accounts was discovered with trillions of Naira, the Atheist asked me if I know how many people the politician was feeding? He still went to say that politician if asked will give justifiable reason why he took that much money for himself alone.
One man starches one of his accounts with trillions of naira, while his community people are starving, yet the Atheist commended him but accused God of indifference towards the plight of the suffering humans.
I see a common denominator, Satan blamed God before man in Eden. He told Adam that God doesn't want him to be God that's why he 'God' lied and kept Adam as a servant. Everyone on Satan's side blames God for their own failings.

You just said your pastor Hates you, you have not said what happened. Tell the truth and shame the devil.
What happened?
People hate pastors, now you have put him on a crucible and people are chewing him up, hope you realise that, if you have a hand in what is going on, and you are here robbing him on the floor, you will pay?

So, tell the truth, only sinners lie. What happened?

As said earlier, he was a great gospel musician. All his songs were sang in the Ikale (Ondo state) dialect and intonation.

As a well recognised musician in the land, he was also well known in his church...in Lagos.

Although he was not living large at all till he died.

But the circumstance that surrounded his death was so mysterious...it was said that during a journey outside Lagos, he got missing perhaps it was believed that he had died in the auto accident that was caused by a fuel tanker, and possibly burnt to death along with other co-travellers.

The accident was so several that no one escaped, and none of the victim could be recognised...they all burnt to ashes.

And the shepherd of the Lagos church where he worshiped before he died took it upon himself to continue to cater for his family...in fact they went ahead to sponsor his son (Lekan Amos, also a gospel musician now) through music school since he also showcase a good talent in gospel music like his late dad.

As time passes, the shepherd died, but prior to his death, he had instructed his would-be successor to take charge of a secret deal within the church premises... and truly the second in command continued.

But sooner after taking over from the late shepherd, he too also became ill under a strange occurrence... his children won't want to lose their dad so soon and they decided to go the extra mile to find a cure to their father's life-threatening sickness that had surpassed medical knowledge.

And in their findings, they were told that there is a secret which was passed to their father, and until their father reveal this secret, he shall never recover.

All the children gathered next to their father's bedside, and persuaded him...but lo and behold their dad later confessed...he said that the late shepherd used that late gospel musician for money ritual. And perhaps it was because of nemesis the first shepherd died, and same thing could be the reason for the present illness of the new shepherd. And he further confessed that the late gospel singer did not perished in the said fire accident, but was still alive in the cupboard dolling out cool money...in the same bedroom... inside the church where the man was confessing.

Asked if they may open the cupboard to see the musician, he said Yes! And after they summoned courage to open it, they met the musician in a fearful state.....he had a big calabash on his head, while kneeing down crying....and at a scream of shock from the children, the musician fell to the ground, the calabash broke, and he died immediately. But despite this confession, the second shepherd of the sick bed couldn't get well, he later died too.

Mind you when it was first rumoured that the musician perished in an accident involving the fuel tanker, his family members had carried out a burial on his absence...that is they cut a banana tree-stem long enough to the height of the supposed dead musician, wrapped it with a piece of white cloth, placed it in a casket and buried it.

But now that the blown breeze had exposed the fowl yansh, the strange issue could have generated into a very serious crisis but thank God for the intervention of their community elders in Ikale (they all hail from the same home town). It was for this sole reason the elders were able to settle the dispute between the three families (the two late shepherds' and the and musician's families).

It took them about eight (cool years before the secret could be exposed.

Here, if by the time the first shepherd had wanted to carry out his ritual, he didn't succeed, he could have publicly branded the musician as evil, or castigate him, or frustrated him at any given time till he see him bid his church farewell.

And same thing is what I am sensing in the OP's post.

Have a lovely Monday.

The mode of presentation is what I'm looking at here.

The op did not insult the pastor, and neither did he use abusive language in his post.

He said his impression is the pastor hates him and the members are following suit without giving him a chance to explain or make amends for whatever it is they feel he did.

In essence, in his opinion, he is being ostracized for some reason. What that reason is, is what we dont know. Whether the op knows, is a matter of conjecture pending clarification.

As per people's comments on the tread, so far the majority have not been insultive, most simply advised him to leave the church.

You threatened him and implied he only voiced his concern because he is trying to make trouble for pastors. Where did you see that in his post?

Compare with actual threads where pastors are castigated by posters (mostly money related threads), and tell me if this one falls into that category.

The only reason for this situation mentioned (if there is one), is if the church practices ostracism as a means of discipline, because some older church practices do that (check Silas Marner), not sure if Nigerians have this as a religious behaviour but it's possible. I generally regard it as a cultural thing but it could also be religion based as well.

And yes, as I mentioned before, is the op aware of what may have led to what he described. I agree with you on that.

Sometimes it's about rightly discerning what the war is about.

Usually, ostracism is one of the first steps to an all out attack both spiritual and physical.

However, it's not necessarily a general rule but then might be better to err on the side of caution.

What brought Silas Manner into this? Silas Manner's case was a misunderstanding and betrayal by his friend. When he got to where he decided to settledown, he didn't trust anyone to associate with.

Very few people maligned the pastor, most simply said the op should leave the church.

There are threads maligning pastors, you can check those and contribute there if you want.

The abridged version of Silas Marner doesnt give the account of how he was ostracized, the original book is much longer and has those details. He was ostracized and his fiancee also got engaged to his frenemy afterwards. That was when he left the church.

Well. Like I said, Silas Marner was framed and betrayed by a close friend who was jealous of him. The main object of the jealousy was his fiancée, which his friend and close confidant finally got. And the church was misinformed, and they carry out thorough investigation, because if they spend time asking relevant questions am sure, they truth would have surfaced, and Silas Marner wouldn't have been ostracized.
That's why am asking the OP what happen.
It's the case of swallowing details down that put Silas Marner in the position he found himself. And this pastor might just be a Silas Marner you know.
BTW, am not in support of shunning, Jesus never shunned anyone. I don't know where they got their shunning doctrine from.

I have put in a lot of efforts to know my flaws but no response, will i continue like this?
OK. I understand how this can be. I will advise you go to his wife or call some pastors close to him and explain the situation to them.
You know? Jesus said, if you are on your way to offer your sacrifice and by the alter you remember that your brother has an odd against you(he is the one with the issue, not you), he said, you should drop the offering there and go and First make peace before coming to offering your sacrifice. And how did he say we should do it?
He said, go to him directly, if he fails to listen, take some elders with you, if he fails to listen, then hand him over to God, and continue with your christian work. You don't answer to him, but to Christ. But let your own obedience be complete.

Some pastors make God a grand father. They take the place of God the Father, then relegate God to the back ground. We shouldn't allow that. That will mean "man worship". If that's the case. Change church.

I just reread the particular chapter in Silas Marner, the problem was not even the ostracism per se (which was implied but not actually described, my bad), but the presumption of guilt and refusal to believe his innocence.

In addition, the lots were cast and also proclaimed him guilty, then his intended wife also married his best friend.

So he left.
