freeze001:U should invest in a dictionary. Ever heard of affirmative action?? And if u dont love your country nigeria, then why are u still here?? U are the one showing your affinity for tribalism here, not the nigerian laws. You are unable to think beyond yourself and your tribe. Forgetting then even you depend on others for survival as well. By the way, even those advocating for separation fail to understand that there are more than 200 tribes in nigeria with more than 500 dialects. There is no place known as igbo land or biafra land. An ebonyi will never be regarded as igbo. And neither is delta or any of the niger delta states part of igbo land. Same thing goes for yorubas. Where will u place kwara or kogites?? So your seperatist ideologies are nothing but fantasies. We either function together as a country or perish! |

blackpanda:You deliberately lose the point of mutual consent and agreement to function and work together. If the people in question do not have a meeting point from which they agree to exist and function based on agreed terms of engagement, there will be constant friction. I am first of all, a product of my tribe n tradition. My dependence on others for survival and vice versa can only be fruitful and durable by mutual agreement and respect. The moment one tries to cow the other by violence like these godforsaken herdsmen, there will be an equal reaction. No legislation can force one on the other. Mere legislation and force will not erase the obvious evil and destruction the herdsmen represent. There is Igboland, there is Yorubaland and so on. The one Nigeria gospel can never wipe out or decrease our peculiarities and differences under our different tribes and nations; certainly not by force of obnoxious laws like this grazing bill. Igbos, Yorubas, Ibibios, Igalas, Nupes, Tivs, etc all existed before Nigeria and they didn't die because they were forced to coexist as Nigerians. The various tribes know themselves and those in close affinity. The slight differences in dialects do not make them lose sight of where they belong. When push comes to shove, there will be natural grouping and then I will see u tell an Ebonyi man that he's not Igbo or a Kwara man that he's not Yoruba. It is these natural leanings and closely related cultures that form the identities of each individual not some Nigeria that was slapped on for the hell of it. Fulani grazing bill and routes are anathema to the ways and life of Southerners. If they cannot reach a mutual agreement with the natives and leadership of whichever region in the South they choose to settle in, grazing reserve bill will not avail them any acceptance. Laws do not exist in a vacuum, it is general acceptance that gives it legitimacy otherwise forceful application amounts to oppression and u knw how a man reacts when pushed to the wall and he's at the end of his patience. |

freeze001:Abeg rest. Nobody is oppressing u. And by the way, nobody has monopoly of violence. Ask your folks about the civil war before u make empty threats As for collective agreement, you may wish to refer to the first paragraph of the constitution. After all is said and done, you will NEVER succeed in dividing this country. Tho you can always relocate if the idea of our unity is so painful to u |

Unity is not by force...that is why two or more must agree in order to walk together. First paragraph of a constitution written by bloodhounds and gun toting military men? Who were the people that agreed at the time? You see how u are jittery about a possible division and yet u cannot countenance a more honest and reliable means of ensuring the same unity u so desire only on mutually beneficial terms? You rather advocate fake and shaky unity at the expense of others and sustained by the blood of many...you can be sure it will not last. Violence can only achieve so much and no one has monopoly of same. We rather have real peace from the foundation than this contrived appearance of unity where blatant impunity is exercised to favour some over others... Nature and truth may be delayed but never denied. blackpanda: |
