Here is the third stage of the work : this stage involve the following activities
1. formwork to first floor beam and slab (decking)
2. first floor slab reinforcement details
3. electrical conduit pipes
4. waste pipe conduit work
5. casting of first floor slab work

DECKING WORK DURATION: 14 days 4/22/16 TO 5/5/16

Compaction of filled to achieve a very rigid foundation.
The compaction was done by water g the foundation for ten hours after which a very heavy manually made rammer is used to compact the foundation to the required level

Formwork is a is a platform use to enclose concrete in a civil engineering/building construction. it is a temporary structure that serve the above listed purpose a d it is removed (striking) after the concrete as set.

For this foundation, the Formwork is that wood that is nailed to the edges round to get a reasonable height, level and to hold back the concrete.

Dpc is an oversite concrete that is part of foundation but place at an height above ground level.

That should be DPM (damp proof membrane). It is use to prevent from rising through the foundation

As you may tell, I am going through this entire thread once more (now that I'm better introduced to Naija building basics), picking gem nuggets from your exceptional knowledge and experience. Why is it that:
1. DPM sheets are not joined with a special masking tape on most projects, and
2. DPM is not used for footings
....... as per recommended best practice in USA?

Qtn 1: we normally join our DPM with the nail because masking tape can't really join wet polythene. But it will be a good ideas to use masking tape for subsequent job.

Qtn 2 : footings are funded on blinding of 75mm and cover of 50mm, these elements help to protect the footings reinforcement and rendered the need for DPM useless, except for areas with relative high water table
