@olushola,based on what you said earlier about sending money through western union in hard currency,my question now is if someone in Nigeria wants to send money to someone in Benin republic, won't it be possible to do that?

Check with the Banks in Nigeria, if that is possible... BTW I do not reside in Africa.

I intend going that route again too soon.
Naira is fucking up big time do the exchange rates are currently terrible, so expect to Change N550 to 1000CFA

Second, for where to stay, I recommend the Guesthouse at Haie Vive, it's close to the airport, and there are many fun spots on that street too.

It's better to use ID card to cross over, but if you want to use passport (like me) then be ready to pay for the stamping, especially when it is your first time.

Ask me any other thing

I am not into trading. You can find out from people that trade along that route, or declare them to the custom officer at the boarder, in which case, you may pay some duty on the items.

Of course it is legal. Make sure nothing is hidden inside it. You can take the receipt along with you, if you still have it but then, that should not be a problem, a lot of people pass through the boarder every second with it.

NB. Keep it away from the public Glare.

This day to you all @Timbuktu14, Zhukafa et al.

I will be most likely going towards Cotonou again in two weeks, and please anybody who don pass there recently should pls update me on

1) The exchange rate at the border

2) How much is paid for stamp on the passport now at the Nigerian and Benin side

I think that would be all now, because the prices of things must have changed drastically from the last time I was there in July 2015.

Thank you

Try Centre Artisanal de Cotonou, Boulevard St Michel. You will be amazed how well organised the place is, you canalso have a free tour of their carving factories too.
