Its a normal thing to ask....

Most states even have commissioners Quarters.

They are ministers of the FRN.
Common small companies in Nigeria like intels staff are given accommodation....PMB should please arrange accommodation for these guys...

How are they different from me and you? We all left our respective homes to seek for jobs in other towns ....did our employers give us accommodation? These men lobbied and got the job why are they now complaining? About time we put a stop to all these winnings.

Go back and read what you wrote to see if it makes any sense. Mr. President just further demonstated that he is on the job to cater for the poor and common Nigerian, and not to satisfy the greed of an insatiable few.

This is evidenced by the NGN500billion earmarked for various Social Investment Programs in the budget. Are you saying that he should take money from the SIPs to address Ministers accomodation challenge?

Bottom line is, Mr. President just reminded them of the option of resignation.

if you dont give them the right tools to work how can they function. They should all resign and leave him to continue to rule with his body language. Afterall he said the ministers are noise makers that shows he doesn't appreciate their worth. He is the czar, he knows it all, he alone is working everyother person is a noise maker.

Must a minister stay in a high-brow area like Maitama or Asokoro?

Ministers should understand they are here to serve and not be pampered and spoilt.

If a minister cannot stay in a N4 million naira house then tendering his/her resignation is the most honourable thing to do.

First, it is polls, not pools.
Second, it is only the president that has a 4-year mandate, of which he is impeachable.
Nothing prevents the removal of a non-performing minister, no matter what his excuse might be.

now they can have a taste of what it is like for the common man.

but I think the federal govt. should have like an estate of 3-5bedroom flats built for ministers.

that way they won't come and be asking for furniture allowance tomorrow.

Government had Ministers Hill in Maitama and Ministers Quarters in Mabushi.

They were all sold under President Obasanjo's Monetization policy.

Current ministers must make do with what has been made available to them, which is in line with RMAFC Act, they may also make cuts from their other allowances such as furniture and motor vehicle to augment the NGN4milllion allocated to accomodation, otherwise honourably resign.

Of course it's a normal thing in Nigeria. It's also a normal thing to steal public funds and get away with it while the masses starve. N4 million accommodation is just not good enough for ministers of the FRN, right? It has to be 20 million.

Please, when one of those "small companies" give you a job and offer you a 4 million naira apartment, refuse it and insist on a 20 million naira one.

I am pissed beyond pissed they want 20 million naira per year for housing plus their salaries and allowances they are mad... most of them are wealthy enough to afford such and plus almost all of them are not poor so if they can't cope they should quit...

You need a lot of schooling on civic education. You are trying to sound smart, but you are being obtuse. We're talking about the budget as proposed by GMB! It becomes a passed budget if it's assented to by the president or passed by 2/3 majority of NASS after a president's veto.

You just don't seem to get it. Its like you fail to realise why he walked out. The problem this man has like some Nigerians do is a failure to come to terms with what they are. Like a parent who says I will not permit you to do this and then leaves without explanation, without reasoning. He is indirectly saying, go get if from your mother, brothers, boyfriend, etc. He knows these people just pretend to sit at meet but in themselves are pure blooded Nigerians. He knows they will 'find' that 20million but doesn't want to be a part of it. I'm really sorry but the only people who can fix Nigeria is Nigerians.
