naza9ja:He is one of the Itsekiris professor from Delta state, whom I have mistaken to be reasonable. All those old Nigerian have refused to be straight forward just because, they are looking for appointment like Oby. I remember professor Tam West, who was always dancing and singing supportive songs in favour of Buhari but was abandoned by Buhari and as at today, he is secretly groaning of heatship. If Sagey is not one of those most senior zombies, he should have known that the hardship as today, during Buhari tenure, everybody including himself, a professor is groaning. He is almost gone and finished by the Buhari incompetence for which he a member. Damn and tufiakwa. |

989900 you can see what am talking about...instead of focusing on government and economic policies that would move the country forward they keep going back to the past...Gej is out of power for about a year now yet they keep reminding us every day about how gej stole fictitious billions, how he would have been a disaster etc...Yet they are yet to tell us the plans they have for us. |

Jonathan is not HARD enough to manage scarcity. He won not have been able to rein in ministers and corporation heads who would have continued stealing. Even IGR generation and getting companies to pay tax and the regulatory duties of government le the MTN fine. All these would have been impossible for a softie fisheries lecturer guy like Jonathan |

dragonking2:You don't get it, GEJ CANNOT be wished away. And I'm still trying to find how mentioning Jonathan, or tracking down looters during his administration prevents 'focusing on government and economic policies'. The government is a monstrous, multitasking institution, I don't get how the EFCC, ICPC, DSS and e.t.c taking on corrupt criminals (just like they would for those that committed other general crimes every normal day), stops the ministry of Power, Finance, Budget and planning, and .e.t.c from doing their bit -- I don't get how it is wrong for different institutions doing their different jobs. If you need info/news about the economy, there is enough of that on here even. And, until the budget gets signed and implemented, we can't have a proper yard stick to measure the performance of this administration. BTW, Prof. Sagay here, is just doing his own job. #WAC. |

The more we see APCs apologists coming to press to cast problems of the nation on GEJ, the more my mind bleed for the country. A leader solve problems and do not use one out of four years to blame predecessor. I wonder what Buhari rating will be in corporate organisation if he will be measured based on promises (KPI) he made, he will have been fired. I pray we see positive steps in right direction so that the true change would come in the next few years but based on the current status I am still pessimistic about the whole CHANGE. |

Yes u are right... Thank God he didn't won for peace sake..... Because BUHARI & his Zoobies were not preparing for Governance but war. Those Fulani's mafias that was trained through Bokoharam disguised were well equipped to cause civil unrest in d country. No wonder things are going down in d country after Bubu took over, they could not contain their mafias. That is y it took the Fulani president 6 months to look for professional thieves as ministers. If GEJ can sustained & stabilized d country for 6 years while Bubu can't maintain just one year but #BLAMEGEJSYNDROME. what a shame! |

Sweetguy25:Do you mind these masturbators? It took him 6 months to appoint ministers, while at that he started playing "try your Luck" with the economy. Today is May 6, 2016, he has not yet assented to budget he submitted to NASS in 2015. Tell me how the last administration contributed to the current fuel shortage! Tell me how the last administration contributed to Zero power generation from about 5000MW handed over to Buhari! Tell me how the last administration contributed to inconclusive elections, inconclusive budget, inconclusive Boko haram defeat, inconclusive electricity, inconclusive asset declaration, inconclusive government!!! Was it the past administration that has created the disaffection between the executive and NASS? Was it Jonathan that re-introduced dual exchange rate? Creating fraud in an otherwise sanitized system!! Was it Jonathan that has made it impossible for a government to pay salaries? Is it Jonathan that has been making provocative statements against a Niger-Delta militants that were at peace with government for 6 years? Is it Jonathan that has made Boko Haram to be in control of over 4 LGAs? Was it Jonathan that "helped" remove Nigeria from list of fast growing economy to nothingness? Or the Fulani Herdsmen are working for Jonathan!!! Thought THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SUBSIDY, today they are paying what does not exist Confused government with more followers. They thought government was rhetoric!!! JESTERS!!! |

I laugh when some people shout that GEJ is the cause of PMB problems, because PMB is just a fool waiting to die a president so his family would eat the benefit of his death, in the history of democracy which president has ever face the kind of heat GEJ faced as a president? ?? where the north formed BOKO HARAM and funded it with money supposed to be used for other things, at least when GEJ was the president sachet water never went high to 20 naira, and I could use as little as #1500naira to make myself a nice soup, PMB came and everything CHANGED/CHAINED #2500naira can't make you a nice soup, heat wants to kill you, forget economy because as long as you don't have anybody up there its only in the news we hear economy of this country, the bastard has been using our money to fly private jet going to borrow money, pls oh if someone come to you to borrow him/her #5000naira and the person has an iphone6s, BB Passport would you borrow the person?... let's be realistic PMB is the major PROBLEM of this country, his too dull...the dude Saturday done finish, na Sunday thanksgiving remain for am. #!Don'tStandWithBuhari. |

Jonathan was too weak as president. Despite he had some good ministers, his government performance was not good. But this apc government is also doing badly. |

Chrixtopha:It doesn't take more than common sense for an adult to know that when you cut out the root of a tree, the leaves which would still appear fresh at the onset, would begin to wither after a couple of days. Nigeria's booming economy under GEJ was simply a function of high oil prices and this was proven by the instant crash of the economy as soon as oil prices began to decline. When we complained of the monumental and disastrous level of corruption and pillagery prevailing at the time, most of you sentimentally blinded followers argued that corruption and stealing wasn't Nigeria's problem because despite the corruption, almost all economic indices still showed positive. At the time, every idiott close to Abuja was buying a private jet, even the ex-president himself boasted then at a conference in Kenya that he was doing well with the economy as evidenced in the explosion in number of private planes; unfortunately, daft supporters cheered him on and insulted anyone who thought otherwise. Fast-forward to the third quarter of 2014, oil prices began to decline, and just like the popular saying about the a*s of a fowl being exposed by the wind, the true state of Nigeria's economy began to show. The following happened within the last 7 months of GEJ: (1) There were two devaluations of the Naira and its value fell from N166/167 to ~N220 to $1 at the parallel market; meanwhile oil still sold at about $65/barrel as at May 2015. http://abokifx.com/previous-rates-2/ (2) The nation's foreign reserves nosedived from ~$38.5bn to $28.7billion, that's a drop of about $10billion in 7 months. Meanwhile oil still sold at about $65/barrel as at May 2015. I really don't want to imagine what would have been our fate if GEJ wasn't removed when he was removed. http://www.cenbank.org/intops/Reserve.asp (3) Nigeria's GDP growth rate which was maintained at an average of 6-7% began a steep nosedive and closed out at 2.35% as at the 2nd quarter 2015 when GEJ handed over. Contrary to your bolded ignorant claims above, Nigeria fell far off the fastest growing economy chart under GEJ. http://www.tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/gdp-growth-annual (4) Due to a severe cash crunch occasioned by fall in oil prices, the Nigerian government had to borrow about $2.4billion dollars early in 2015 to pay salaries. The FG could not also pay accumulated arrears of fuel subsidy since August 2014 to petroleum importers (leading to the worst ever crippling fuel scarcity circa May 2015). http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/nigeria-borrows-to-pay-salaries-with-cash-crunch-worsening/ Note that all of the above happened at a time when oil still sold above $65/barrel That you are ignorant of a situation does not change it from being what it is; you are obviously ignorant of the 4 situations I painted above. To the simple mind of the common uneducated artisan on the streets, Buhari has to be responsible for all these woes because "when GEJ ruled, things were okay." It is unfortunate though that supposedly educated folks in Nigeria now do not reason better than the common street urchins. Now you ignorantly claim I support evil?... if endorsing the removal of failure of a leader like GEJ is what you term evil, then Hell Yeah! I am very happy and proud to support evil. cc: dadexcel |

chally02:Obasanjo's administration had saved when the oil price was not even as high as it was during GEJ's administration and this is what gave the country a soft landing in the said 2010. But what did GEJ save despite the extremely high price of oil? |
