Lack of continuity has been our bane, are you saying he should abandon the uncompleted ones to start new ones? BTW, he his only 6 months in office.

No, compatriot. No rational thinking person would canvass for discontinuation of existing projects for new ones They must be complimentary. However, I find it unreconcilable for Fashola and Buhari not to introduce new initiatives that are different from the existing ones which they completely rubbished as a waste prior to the last election. By now, this govt should be focusing on alternative source(s) of power generation other than the gas and hydro powered ones. All the noises made in the rundown to the 2015 elections on electricity turnaround were mere hoax and election winning lies. That's my take.

The article says the project was put on hold due to litigations and conflicts among vested stakeholders. Not necessarily intended to be outrightly abandoned.
But at least he has resolve the conflict among the stakeholders. And the much awaiting change is on it's way.

The budget was just signed yesterday, and ministers are just 6 months old.
That said, it seems you've not been following, everything you mentioned and more, are already being said and are currently in motion . . . we are already discussing some on some other thread.

Sentiment aside, has anybody noticed that Fashola hasn't introduced any initiative on power improvement apart from recycling existing roadmap which he and other APC leaders (including Buhari) roundly condemned in the past? Having accused the last govt of awarding power projects to its cronies, one would have expected this govt to embark on massive review of the power contracts toward fast tracking electricity improvement but alas, it's déjà vu. Well, we know Buhari can't touch the owners of the GENCOs and DISCOs. Na only Dasuki, Deziani, Obanikoro FFK etc dem fit probe.

Nothing you can fast track about PHCN. It will take a lot of years to witness improvement in power.

read the speech again and you will see an important solution fashola plans to introduce. Different regions will have peculiar plants. Not like now that a plant up north that can be powered solar is waiting for the gas from south east .

Pls point to any part of my posts both past and current where I accused Fashola of continuing with existing projects other than picking him up on inability to initiate new initiatives to fastrack the power re-engineering process. If you had read my post before criticising, you would have noticed the part where I dressed him down on failure to review the existing power roadmap having condemned it in the past. Read carefully before reacting pls.
If you ain't myopic you will see a new initiative proffered by him aside his belief in continuity...Siting power plants far away from Fuel source has always been a wrong decision..gas pipelines will always be vandalized but if the distance is very close to the plant..you partially eliminate the Vandals out of the equation and thus constant gas supply to Power stations becomes inevitable

That is not what the writer is saying. Just acknowledge when you see something good, that is all. Most projects initiated by the GEJ administration were well thought out. It is also good that the current minister is continuing. I am also convinced that Elrufai must be regretting the way he ridiculed the office of the presidency. You can imagine what our dear president is going through. The youths struggle to out do each other by calling the president unprintable names.

Am beginning to believe that these idiots I argue with here on NL are paid afterall and are terribly shameless! These fools never believed in any project flagged off by Jonathan, instead all were preaching change!! Suddenly, the idiots have made a 360° swerve to be preaching continuity!!! These fools have thunderously pretended as if "nothing new should be expected from the government of change"....Instead what we are seeing are deliberately ignorant praise singing.
Big Shame on nairaland APC supporters!

Why site gas plants in kogi when you have to transport gas from the Niger Delta and still evacuate the power to the National Grid?

Why not site Many gas power plants in Akwaibom and other SS states, then put facilities in place to evacuate this. The pipelines to be monitored are now shorter and the raw material is readily available.

I am not sure any investor will be willing to invest in SS now. They will blow up his entire investment in a minute. What they hope to achieve by doing this I don't know.

Stop talking as if you are being controlled by a puppeteer.

We have had transformer issue in my street in Ondo state for 55 days now.
A new one was installed three weeks ago, but the idiotts are still waiting for commissioning.

Okitipupa in Ondo state hasn't had light in about 2 years (except it has being restored now) and you say concluded he's lying?

Its not just Okitipupa, it's 5 LGA combined for about 2 years. I heard it has become a campaign tool.
