Never ever return to a man who raises his hands against you, whether in a relationship or in marriage. He'll go ahead to batter you when he has the opportunity.

Women, always seek the face of God to marry a man who truly fears God. Don't ever get married out of desperation or because you think you are getting old.

Please quit the arguments, nagging, and wrangling when it's becoming unnecessarily provocative. And when you need to seek for help outside your marriage, please don't hesitate.

Must everything on this site be made tribalistic?!! Some of us try to come on this site to get informed but the rank tribalism, hatred and viciousness against fellow countrymen on here is driving some of us away! It may be difficult for some of you but please try and restrain yourselves!

Domestic violence knows no ethnicity. I have close friends who are being battered by their husbands. Recently, one was so battered she was hospitalized due to blood clot in her head from her husband smashing her with an iron rod! These were not Yoruba men! Overseas domestic violence is also a problem.

I am sorry for writing this long response but I am so very frustrated by the tribalistic vitriol on this site!

...yes, but this place is haven for Nigerians in diaspora, a place to stay in touch with home(virtually).

But then, I cringe in shame and disgust most times though. I really believe that psychologists and psychoanalysts should be FORCED to practice in Naija.

The law in Nigeria not strong at all, even when a womn go to police station to report her husbnd beat her the police will say is a family matter that they should go and settle it. But when the husband beat his wife to dead that is when police will intervein.

I suggest that anyman that beat his wife should be beating by soldiers with that men will learn to control their anger

Did you read what the neighbours said about the man constantly beating her? The man has been abusive. The wife is dead and suddenly the man is on the run. It's obvious the man is the killer. The police just need to get the evidence together to prosecute and have him convicted.

I pause to wonder what would make a man kill a woman who has 2 kids for him, the rage and hate probably stemmed from infidelity, however no woman is worth killing and messing up your life and kids for, he simply should have walked away from the marriage, now a fugitive and condemned, his side of the story does not matter, only the Lord can forgive him. I saw this comment on My friends FB page and My mouth hit the floor she's a very independent woman who has been beaten by her so called hubby even during pregnancy.
