The gov't with good infrastructure, honesty, implementation, smart policies, and services can make a minimum of $3 every day on the average from a 100 million Nigerians =$300m*30= $9B (roughly N2trillion)/month (that is 5-7 times what we presently get from oil sales, that is roughly a third of our present annual budget)!!!
The above is an excerpt from my post last week.
Imagine almost N1trillion from stamp duties alone in arguably one of the worst quarters of our existence!

Meaning, when the going is good, stamp duties alone can fetch this country roughly N4 trillion annually -- that is almost same amount as our 2015 budget, roughly same amount we get from our 'oyel'!!!

If we do the right things, we can afford to fund a N30 trillion budget -- 5 times of our 2016 budget without borrowing!!!!

Who cursed us to be so blind to see good things starring right in front of us? Who cursed us with bad leaders?

BTW, oga Kashamu abegi, parkwell if u no wan drink akamu for alagbon.

P.S. Stanbic charging me stamp duties on a savings account!

Chai. The figure is huge. I didn't read the whole article but I somehow came across where Kashamu's company is said to be a collecting Agent for Fed government on stamp duties. Well I wonder when and how certain contracts are awarded in this country and whether background checks of companies are ever carried out before the award of contracts especially the ones as sensitive as this one

Meanwhile if the government can realise a figure of this magnitude in a quarter by just deducting 50naira from current account deposits,

I suggest they extend same policy for savings account so long as theirs transparency and accountability, it will help in curbing out the idea of borrowing to fund the budget.
Also I wonder the amount they realise from normal taxation from FIRS.

Me wey get small company I know how much I pay yearly for tax clearance how much more the big corporations.

#yawns and goes for lunch
Savings ke. You are saving and its been deducted, tell me the essence of saving. It's only current account that such deduction can affect. Bank accounts are of different types

Kasmal International Services Limited ... The company also claims that it is entitled to 20 per cent of the fund in accordance with the agency agreement it allegedly signed with the postal agency.

Abeg, how are we supposed to seek redress for this deliberate banditry ny Stanbic? I have been to the customer care desk to query them on this issue. While the online Custocare agent appeared to be apologetic and promised to look into it, the one across the desk jn the banking hall was telling me rubbish, playing too know. Had to lecture him with hard evidence on the places where stamp duty applies. He stupidly still wasn't stirred.
