It's in your best interest never to tell lies you can't defend in an interview. I will give 2 scenarios in a recent interview. 1) During the course of answering can we meet you question, I mentioned I like to read motivational books. One of my assessors asked when was the last time you read one, I said that very morning, which was actually a lie as I was busy preparing for that interview. The next question she asked was did you read the book here? Now if I had said yes, she would have probably said can I see the book and I would have been busted, so I simply said no and she asked what's the title of the book and what is it about. All I did was give the title and summary of a particular book I've read countless number of times. That's a lie with a solid alibi 2) I was asked another question that I didn't know and I simply said I don't know. After the interview one of the assessors said, I like the fact that you didn't lie, that counts for you. All na wash sha as I didn't make the next phase. The lesson is if you are going to lie, have a very convincing response to back up your lie |

Jadonjack:It's not a good reason to reject someone, unless it's the fashion industry. Some interviewers are just lacking in skills. |

Most lies are unnecessary, you are not expected to know everything since you ain't God. Just tell them what you know. To the grammarians: Both "Tie a tie" and "knot a tie" are correct. The first has been explained rightly so I'll go to the second. Knot is a noun, the Tie is also a noun, but the full transcription of "knot a tie" means put a Knot(noun) on a tie(noun), so the noun knot shouldn't be translated into a verb referring to the process of tying a tie, but that of placing the knot on the tie, you're to view it as something being added to another. You change it into a verb by adding 'ing' I.e knotting a tie- which shows an ongoing process. So please let's all stop the arguments. God bless you all. |

leahcimzil:the two are correct but "knot a tie" is better. It sounds good when articulated than "tia a tie" |
