vanpeele:You have to leave the poultry waste wet for 6 month to compost before you can use it. To make the process faster, mix with wood shavings or saw dust. Mix them every week to fasten the process. To test the readiness, it should not generate heat anymore and should not be smelly. Drying it will not allow it to compost. |

Went to the farm yesterday and most of the cucumber seeds sprouted, will go back on Monday to check if all of them are out of the soil then replant any one which failed to germinate. |

| Re: My Successful Cucumber Sack Farm In Kaduna by vanpeele(op): 2:01pm On May 13, 2016 |
Pamelayoung:There's no need. Everything you need to know is on the thread. A sort of long distance learning. |
| Re: My Successful Cucumber Sack Farm In Kaduna by Pamelayoung: 2:21pm On May 13, 2016 |
vanpeele:But I prefer a practical class, being on ground and getting it straight to avoid mistakes. |

Liquid fertilizer to be sprayed on the plants when they have more foliage. Hand sprayer to substitute for knapsack sprayer till I save up to buy one. Attacke pesticide to fight off the insects and NPK fertilizer to be fed to the plants on biweekly bases.

vanpeele:Actually I'm farming for the first time so haven't really had any experience with forliar fertilizer. I just got info on forliar feeding of cucumber plants while doing more research and decided to try it out. According to the research plants tend to absorb nutrients readily from their leave more than from roots. However forliar feeding can not substitute root fertilizer application totally. As for the picture will do that tomorrow. |
