What bothers me is the lack of common sense amongst many Loyal APC members/supporters.

*Oil price as at January 2012 when the subsidy was initially removed was around $100 per barrel, and the price point the cancellation of subsidies promised was N141 per liter.
Today oil price is around $40 per barrel, yet the removal of subsidies promises a N145 per liter price point.

Now, they will blame the poor Dollar to Naira exchange rate for the hefty price point, but does that mean NNPC also gets foreign exchange via the black market?
If not, why in this world would they charge such hefty prices per liter?

When we could afford a devaluation was 2012, but the opposition then said it was corruption, and that GEJ and his cronies would embezzle all the money that should have been used for the subsidy.
How does one even embezzle money one doesn't have, they never bothered to explain.
Do you advice a relative to buy a harmful commodity because you don't want him wasting his salary

Yes the opposition knew Subsidies always ended up in the pocket of thieves, but they still insisted and shut down Nigeria because they didn't want GEJ to embezzle the money. (A spurious and treacherous assertion at that)

.............................
Back to the present.

Don't forget, increase in demand increases price, and just think of the what the scurry for dollar by oil marketers will do to the parallel market exchange rates.
This means higher prices for every commodity in Nigeria, both locally made and imported, since even the banana seller has to pad her prices to meet up with the increased cost of living.
(Also Nigerian history has shown that an increase in fuel price increases the cost of living)

The devaluation might have helped issues, but Buhari labels everyone who calls for this portfolio investors, not minding the simple truth that all his journeys abroad is a waste of time and these businessmen won't come if they can't repatriate their earnings back home.
Every strong company in the world is made up of a boardroom of ruthless executives who only want to see profits. They aren't friendly babysitters who would nurture your country to 'adulthood'.

Meanwhile some bring up silly reasons like, Egyptian pounds having a 20% lower rate in the parallel market despite devaluation.
Compare this to the 70% and above parallel rates currently in Nigeria and see how myopic you are.

This time around if they fail to occupy Garki, Wuse and Maitama God will murder all of them overnight.

And I hope they don't just occupy Abuja, they should also make sure a stone lands on PMD's shapeless head.

Opposition PDP can go and organise protest in Ekiti, Rivers or Bayelsa. The sagacity and technique of the former opposition was a beauty to behold.

In Nigeria, fuel subsidy removal is euphenism for fuel hike. In the next few days, NLC will go on strike, they will negotiate with the government, and will end up with maybe a price of N110 and something mis-labelled "partial subsidy removal".

The plot is pretty familiar.

The worst part is that GEJ raised minimum wage and NYSC allowance as a panacea to the suffering the subsidy might cause, but our dullardiho doesn't give a damn even with the worsening economic condition caused by the dollar hike and still most Nigerians that protested in 2012 finds it hard to even condemn this act...One Nigeria indeed.

There is nothing sagacious about it. APC end up displaying the stupidditty of the electorates in high definition.
Your country was betrayed at the end of the day anyway.
Implementing subsidy removal then would have saved billions and probably bore fruits by now.
You are being governed by traitors and power drunks. Which is why buhari govt is being troubled by different targential forces which may continue throughout his tenure and limit him significantly.
Sow the wind , reap the whirlwind and Nigeria keep losing.

Reyginus:
The gullibility of Nigerians makes their manipulation easy. Many people don't really know why they have to support or oppose a policy. They don't even bother to make independent research. And the big thieves love it. How many persons really understood the men Goodluck or Buhari before that thumbprint? They are moved by words of propagandist and intellectual midgets.

Removal of Subsidy has always been a good thing. Even better if it was removed in the past when the price of oil was booming. But how many know this? Some dumber and lying ones will tell you it was a question of integrity and we know GEJ was just voted in and his integrity was yet to be soiled by any action or the propagandists. He was simply the wrong person to remove it because he's GEJ and not a Buhari.
