Deen77:Still waiting for his response. The funniest thing is that these people don't know the lower the Oil output the lower the funds allocated to them. Therefore, it leaves many of them vulnerable to harder times. Most of the people in the Niger Delta work as civil servants and other works in the oil companies. But by the time all the Oil companies vacate, coupled with lesser allocation from federal government resulting to delay in salaries, I wanna see how they survive. The unfortunate thing is that they can't even go back to farming or fishing, because they have done more harm than good to their soil. Na them go tire. |

Hengineer:most of what you said is correct but i wanna add some info, the yorubas and hausas are the biggest beneficiaries of the oil revenue since 1960, 90% of oil blocs are owned by them, 85% of jobs in the oil industry belong to them, even in my state Akwa ibom; 90% of staffs in Mobil are yorubas . Now tell me how is that fair... Will you be happy to be in our shoes? The answer is no.. Until we stop/reduce tribalism in this country nothing will go well... Oil is in the south but the head offices of these oil firms are in Lagos and Abuja... We in the south we want others to enjoy our resources not for us to be starved from our reseources just because we are the minority... |

In the midst of a militant resurgence in the Niger Delta and a two-week ultimatum for oil companies to shut down operations, Exxon Mobil has reportedly declared force majeure on Qua Iboe crude after an accident the company said was not related to militant attacks |

anigold:90% in exxonmobil yorubas?... can you swear on your life that that percentage makes any sense?... I personally have worked briefly in eket, oh yes! There are a good number of yorubas in the company, but saying 90% is amusingly absurd. I personally learnt Ibibio in my 6 months IT at QIT; let's stop being unnecessary sensational with our comments. Let me ask you, if MPN closes shop in Nigeria today, which tribe do you honestly think will be most affected? |

Hengineer:Thank you your view is that of a critical thinker please ask them what did President Buhari do to those criminals and kidnappers that they decided to blow the pipelines do you get what you want by shooting yourself in the foot this bombing of pipeline will not work this time President Buhari is a true commander in chief of the armed forces he is not a yaradua or goodluck jonathan he will deal with those terrorist accordingly under Nigerian law in due time a crime not punished today doesn't mean it won't be punished in the near future? It is a conspiracy of the Braced States the president should hold the governors of those states accountable as they are the Chief security officers of their states and ask them what do they do with the huge security votes they get every month, who are the local government chairmen and youth leaders of that senate constituency?Serieke Dickson has warned those avengers not to forget what happened in Odi. Then you expect investors to bring their dollars to come and investment in the region. |

Ngozi123:There is no need for anyone to be afraid. I support the action of the Niger delta people. The North is the only people afraid of fiscal or real federalism. The South has always agitated for it till this apc stole majority of their clear reasoning ability. What the North forgets is that the South south and Easterners will need food stuff to survive even with their oil. They can go into mechanized farming. Truth is, agriculture ("food business" . They have been in the Niger Delta for half a century and what have we benefitted? The proceeds of oil were used to develop all those strange lands and what has d ND benefitted. Almost all HR depts in d oil industry are controlled by SW/Northernes with their legendary nepotism. Let them go to Lagos abeg!!!!!! TonyeBarcanista: |

ganisucks:I can after reading some if your comments deduce that you so much hate APC as a party. It seems your cash flow during the PDP reign is no longer forthcoming. Why are you so bitter? Is it when all your waters are polluted, all the fishes, the plants, the lands etc are dead that you will open the eyes of your mind? Does it have to do with APC as a party or the individuals in it? Pls tell them to bomb and pollute your whole water and lands. |

Exxon Mobil has reportedly declared force majeure on Qua Iboe crude after an accident the company said was not related to militant attacks. Clearly stated in the article that it is not related to militant attacks.....i read the headline, I read the comments and I really get bothered about Nigeria....the passion without facts on every social media discussion is scary, the quality of analysis in the press hinders its capacity to get the government on its toes because article after article is crap. Sadly the next generation is towing the same path. |
