Osinbajos's words : 'You will notice that I have not mentioned other details of the PPRA cost template. I wanted to focus on the cost component largely responsible for the substantial rise, namely foreign exchange. This is therefore not a subsidy removal issue but a foreign exchange problem, in the face of dwindling earnings.' |

MORNDEW:,sir, my question is,why was removal of subsidy in 2012 kicked against, and why should it not be kicked against again? Why not apologise to the citizens that were deceived on the alter of politics then?? Or is this a case of what's good for the goose isn't for the gander? ? |
| Re: Why Nigerians Won't Occupy Nigeria As Fuel Subsidy Removed by MORNDEW(op): 7:19pm On May 15, 2016 |
ezefrank87:Who kicked against it and for what reasons? How much was oil price globally then and now? What was the timing? Now to help you, Those who opposed it then also opposed it now. But just that Nigerians have become wiser and now have better grasp of what subsidy is unlike then. In 2012, going by global oil price we could pay for subsidy but today we earn too little to sustain it. Subsidy was removed by January 1st of 2012. A time when Nigerians were returning from yuletide celebration. haba. Who should apologise? No one was deceived we only kicked against unnecessary suffering in the midst of many. Thanks. |

MORNDEW:sir,if u ask me,i will say that's hypocritical. Gej meant well when he tried to do away with the subsidy scheme, but on the alter of politics,i was killed... sir, nothing really changed, just same politics,if he was allowed to carry out the plans now,am sure we would have gone beyond this stage and talking of full utilisation of existing refineries, building of additional ones and such |

Four years ago, Prominent Nigerians including, Ibe Kachikwu, Femi Falana, Muhammadu Buhari, Oby Ezekwesili, Bola Tinubu, Nasir El-Rufai, Tolu Ogunlesi, Dino Melaye, Yemi Osinbajo, and Tunde Bakare formed a movement known as # OccupyNigeria with the motive of protesting against the planned removal of fuel subsidy by the GEJ administration. The same people who Spearheaded the January 2012 massive protest in the streets of London, WDC, Belgium, SA, Kano, Gusau, Maiduguri, Abuja, Ilorin, and Lagos, that led to the death of patriotic Nigerians including # MuyideenMustapha , # AdemolaAderinde and other unaccounted vulnerable students, are know clamoring for the removal of subsidy for the sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with immediate effect...... # AreNigeriansUnderSpell |

”Many will ask if the
previous Government never meant well for the
country? The answer lies on the characters and
personalities of the two leaders and their stance
on corruption and mismanagement. Many
believed the former's Petroleum minister was
corruption personified who said she was
untouchable while the later is a man of proven
integrity who will make judicious use of the
proceeds from subsidy removal" Lalasticlala mynd44. |
