giles14: Lol Its insignificant compared to the the price. Brazil is getting gripen E/F for about $120 million each, almost the same price as F35. |

chkil:Yes US provide most of the components of gripens jet (about 40% or higher). Even the engines are from US. Britain provide the radar and Italy also provide some components. |

Henry240: RD-33MK still only has a service life of 4000 hours - flying only 50 hours month thats 2 new engines every 5 years. So if you operate 18 aircraft at the minimum of 50 hours a month you are looking at 36 new engines every 5 years or a total of 108 engines in the life span of your squadron Mig 29M also has 1.5 Times the wing loading, meaning its less maneuverable and requires longer-take offs. Gripens PS-05/A radar is better than the 29M's Zhuk-M and I would chose the 01.m2 RCS any day of the week Then you factor in that the Mig-29M is only intergrated with missile systems from the 1980's (R-27, R-77, R73) compared to the more modern Gripen weapons Its really a no brainer - and we havent even spoken about systems-fusion or netcentric warfare, or the fact that the Mig29 has allmost no Recce abilities. |

chkil:i dont know where you read UK vetoed JAS-39 gripen ,but from what i have read is Argentina has shown interest on Gripen E being manufactured by brazil and the issue is britain would force america to veto the sale as it provides the engine. britain has interfered in the sale of jets by israel and spain to Argentina but from the 1990's American has approved the transfer of three dozen secondhand secondhand A-4 Jets to Argentina |

The Narrative is changing before our very eyes.... The west knows Nigeria is winning this war, with or without their hep They are effectively injecting their story into the narrative. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeemfW6ZLV4 http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/insidestory/2016/05/nigeria-boko-haram-defeated-160514161051257.html 1 Like |

africaken254: well i found a lot of sources in google , i can put them because the antispam bot here is too strict this one for exemple Saab not selling Gripens to Argentina, official says A proposed sale of 24 Saab Gripen E/F combat aircraft to Argentina is highly unlikely to happen, a senior company representative told reporters on 27 April. |

chkil:i can excuse on this issue due to their ongoing dispute with Argentina, but if western countries were to look for the slightest excuses not to sell weapons to their buyers !the future will be bleak for their weapons manufacturers, number of countries selling weapons and of good quality is increasing day by day .with more sellers than buyers ,america refused to sell armed drones to saudi they went and bought them in china |

africaken254: That is true, but don't forget that most African Countries don't get the same kind of treatment Saudis and Egyptians do. America Claimed to be helping Nigeria but they blocked the sale of Second Hand Cobras and Chinooks to Nigeria which weren't even part of their Military or Stockpile. 1 Like |

Pakistanilad:Not yet bros. Budget was passed less than 2 weeks ago and I believe it was included in the budget. Only three was budgeted though because of the zero based budgeting (only the amount that can be received this year is included). Although, if the sanction is lifted we might not buy as much as 24 which was previously planned. |
