Hello guys, I got admitted for M.Eng program at university of Toronto. I have money to do this masters but I'm looking for alternative funding when I get to Canada. How easy is it to do masters with only limited spending of my own money?

M.Eng is a course based program and there are usually no funding for it (it's a 1 of 100% chance). Fundings are meant for research based programs only i.e. MSc, PhD, Post doc... I stand to be corrected though..

Yes, you are correct. Typically, M.A.Sc/Ph.D are the ones funded. I'm just looking for experiences on how to fund a M.Eng program without using my own money. Can TA, school jobs, loans, etc fund the program without incurring too much debt?

Pls I will like to ask u this question.
I have denied a visiting visa in a month ago but now I have applied for admission at niagara college so that I can apply for my student permit.
Pls what is the meaning of GCMS file that u talked about and what is the possible of getting the study permit with regards to my first denied visiting visa?

casie26post=45598730:
moreover to shed morelight, you want to tell me that a big man his account runs in million and when he wants to go for visa he will start writing LETTER of EXPLANATORY for his account that has cool transaction history and running in millions? let people start reasoning well and forget about fear of visa matter..have you seen any big man/politicians/md's/managers/contractors writing any letter of explanatory for him own money oo?? your profession could speak/determine an expected money that flows in ur account without owing anybody an explanation. SOP has helped people get visa yes, but two of my friends in canada only just filled their study permit questionaire, when i mention SOP for study permit submission, they ask me what is it for? though it would be advisable if your issue has already been complicated..secondary when you are on the right track like ur academic corresponds to ur work and to ur intended program/higher degree and you are at the right age depending on how it applies to the individual, SOP is just cosmetic on a beautiful face. out here people dont do to the extent NairaLand people do their things still they get visa..na our dual intent atimes dey cause to select lower program levels out of our field of study, just to migrate, but though we want to migrate, carefully select your program and program level to firstly avoid red flag and then battle for other complications in your life history to convince the consulars .
i read NAIRALAND i learnt from this forum, though i will be submitting my next application which my GCMS note has specifically pointed the error which i have tackled,i now pray for God's favour
NB: if you are denied 1s, dnt apply immediately without seeking for your GCMS file, its an eye opener in other not to go complicating your applications.

The tone of your question implies that you plan to plagiarize somebody else's SOP, a very common trend I have seen among Nigerian applicants. If you plan to go for a graduate degree then you need to be able to write it all by yourself from scratch.

If you don't get used to being able to think critically and write your own original thoughts, then you will be in for a very rude shock if/when you start school Canada.

Most graduate programs are writing & thinking intensive, and an inability to present clear arguments in writing will make it extremely difficult for you to succeed in school or at work. Also, the penalty for plagiarism in Canada is stiff; you get a big fat ZERO on any assignment or test in which you plagiarized. In some cases, you get expelled. Also, your admission application WILL be rejected if they find out AT ANY TIME that you plagiarized your SOP.

Just do a Google search on how to write a graduate school SOP and then follow the guidelines. If you find an SOP online, use it as a sample but DO NOT copy any part of it.

My sister was just telling me this week of two Nigerian students in her Canada MSc program who got failing semester grades because they plagiarized the proposal the professor asked them to write. Another one keeps running around telling people that he'll pay if somebody can write his proposal for him.

Start improving yourself now, before it is too late.

@thesoj. Ogaboss. Reply my pm abeg

His flight itinerary goes thus:

I will advice she goes for any business related course or project management if she can link the relationship between her current occupation with the project management program when writing her personal statement. I tried applying for an IT related course @ Seneca college but the program coordinator told me that the IT programs have modules that focuses more on IT and not having any work experience/ educational background in such field does not qualify me for the program. Gurus in the house please throw more light on this issue.

If you have a degree already, and you are applying for a 2year diploma, then be prepared to drop your Bsc blah blah blah when applying for your trv...never you mention it....just look for what to fill in the gaps in your education......and apply with just your Olevels...that was what a friend of mine did and he got his trv....and he is 33years old...
damn, but how will that person explain the academic gap na ? in my case i studied in cyprus and the student permit and visas are all in my passport how else to explain something else? i am going for diploma but that course only have diploma. no pgc or pgd of it and its only offered in that school in the whole of Canada,. i just applied and this case is giving me sleepless night o... wish i knw earlier to use PGC to get in first. i can only be positive now but this thing is eating me up.
