This week I read the inspirational story of a Christian rhythm and blues singer called Fontella Bass, her story taught me once more how God comes to our aid just in time and in ways we never can imagine.

After 25 years of releasing songs that hit the charts both in America and Europe, even getting to number one on occasion, this lady's dreams seemed to be crushed when things just slipped and she felt forgotten. Within a short period of time, she had no career to speak of, she was broke, worn out and freezing. At some point, things were so bad that the only heat in her small home came from a gas stove in the kitchen. As at this time, she had also left the church where she started singing gospel songs as a little girl. She was all alone in a tough situation with no support.

One day at her lowest point, Fontella decided to pray and not long after she prayed, she heard her hit song 'RESCUE ME' on television in a commercial. She said it was as if God stepped right into her world at that moment. She had no idea that American Express had been using her song as part of a commercial and officials had not been able to locate her to pay her royalties. God stepped in in such a way that apart from receiving back royalties, new opportunities began to open up for her to start singing again.

She thought all was lost and was living in abject poverty but when she cried out to The Lord He stepped in and showed her the provision He had already made for her. I have come to realize that every time we cry out to The Lord, what He tends to do is show us what He had prepared for us from the very beginning, the provision that was waiting around the corner for our discovery. Just like with Abraham; when he obeyed and took Isaac to Mount Moriah, as he looked up to God, God showed him the provision He had made ahead of time. So it happened to Moses, as he cried out to God to part the sea, God turned his attention to the staff he always had in his hands and gave him the direction of what to do with it. Every time we cry out to The Lord, He steps in just as the word of God says;

'Then they cried out to The Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.' Psalm 107:6

It is great to know that God specializes in responding to our cry when we are in trouble and as we cry to Him, He delivers us from our distresses and provides a solution by stepping into our situation.

Whatever challenging situation you have found yourself in at this time, I would like to encourage you to cry out to The Lord so He can step in and show you the prepared way out. God is the all knowing God and is quite aware of what your distresses are and He is the safest and best way out of that situation, so you can afford to call upon Him and rest in Him. But as my pastor says, 'God is a gentleman, Hewill never force Himself or His will upon any of us.' He will wait for us to call upon Him and hand over the reins of the affairs of our lives to Him then He will step in. So turn it all over to Jesus and trust Him to help you out.

It is true..

God is on my side.

Heaven is on my side.

Fortune is on my side.

Grace is on my side.

Power is on my side.

If God says Yes, no man can say No.

If God opens a door, no man can shut it.

Hallelujah somebody say Fire !
