[b]Omatseye is standing trial on an amended 27-count charge of alleged contract scam slammed on him by the anti-graft agency.

He was re-arraigned on January 21, 2013, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was then granted bail.

The prosecution had opened its case on February 4, 2013, by calling on its first witness, Ibrahim Ahmed, an Investigating Police Officer with the EFCC.



On May 30, 2013, EFCC called its second witness, Mohammed Shehu, a former Acting Director of Procurement at NIMASA.

The third witness was Aminu Aliyu, a staff of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

All the witnesses had given various testimonies before the court as to the nature and form of contract awarded by the accused while serving as DG of NIMASA.

In the charge, the accused was said to have been involved in contract splitting and bid rigging estimated at over N1.5 billion.

The offence was said to have contravened the provisions of Section 58(4) (d) of the Public Procurement Act 2007.

It also contravened the provisions of Sections 14(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004.[/b]

THE JAIL TERM IS TOO POOR FOR SUCH A HUGE SUM. THIS SENTENCING ENCOURAGES STEALING CHEATING, LOOTING OF PUBLIC FUNDS. OUR JUDGES NEED BRAINS TO WORK IN PROPORTION TO OFFENSE.

He appeals the judgement,gets 6 months like Tafa Balogun or he walks free. Lives the rest of his life as a feudal lord.

The news in this country shows how weak the governments have been. In case you do not know, the Economic Downfall effecting Nigeria didnt originate with this Government.

Its Genesis could be traced as far back as between 30 to 40 years ago. It is often said that what you sow is what you reap.

To correct things abit, Nigeria needs Honest, Sincere and non tribalistic set of leaders in all Sectors of the government.

My advice to my contemporaries, including myself is to adopt the "Positive SAD" approach to life. Yes! Its rightly called positive SAD because though you are sad about the past and present conditions prevailing in the country, you maintain positive view of yourself and things around you.

Its given as follows:

STOP Wailing: To avoid heartache

AVOID Unrealistic Expectations: So you can adapt in any Situation.

DO Not put your trust in Human Government: So you will live long.

You have just seen it- Positive SAD. Clearly the Sadness is a positive one because it bears positive results.

Putting the above suggestions to heart, you will soon:

a) Discover who you are and what you love doing
b) Think and mediate on how you could use what you have to make a living for yourself
c) Become independent. Not expecting the government to do everything for you.
d) Assist the government by employing those without jobs.
e) Begin to enjoy this short and brief life our ours.

Yes you can make it. Between 2014 to 2016 i have employed about about 8 people who work for me. I am just a two year old unemployed graduate.

Do something for youself fellow Nigerians. Do not wait for the Government.

Let them set the precedence. When another party comes in, they come to jail amaechi and other saintly and currently untouchable criminals occupying the seat of power.

Buhari might not have gotten it right, But If jonathan had continued in office, things would have been rossy now, But towaards the end of 2017,Nigeria would have been dead from the looting spree of jonathan.
Boko haram would have spread to other parts of the country becos it would have gotten out of control by now.

As long as someone is in jail for his atrocities, I don't care if suspected APC thieves are walking around freely. Whether its Amaechi or Omatseye, I don't care! We, the citizens are better off without these people.

If PDP members are crying foul for selective prosecution, I'd advise they strive to win the next elections. When they do, they can as well prosecute thieving APC members too (if found guilty).
Either way its a win-win for the common man.

I care less for who is in jail, as long as he is a THIEF!

Facts about the jailed Ex DG of Nimasa:
He was appointed by Yar'Adua in July 2009.
He was sacked eighteen (18) months later by Goodluck Jonathan on suspicions of corruption and was subsequently charged to court by EFCC.
He went to court with a suit of no case against the EFCC, which he lost.
He was re-arraigned on January 21, 2013, by the EFCC during Goodluck Jonathan's tenure on an amended 27 count charge before Justice Ofili Ajumogobia, where he pleaded not guilty and his trial eventually began.
Mr. Omatseye was eventually jailed on those counts.
The fight against corruption in EFCC vs Raymond Omatseye was not started by A PC, neither was any new charges proffered by them. This one was done by Goodluck Jonathan.
When they come like holocaust, seeking to reap where they did not sow, deflate their balloons with the truth.
