Topiipii:I'm yet to see such before. Now my question is, how did Amina without a jot of understanding or speaking English made it from Nursery to SS3. Were they taught all the subjects in Hausa language? How did she write her Junior WASSCE? As for the examples with your sisters, that's understandable coz you said they were having trouble in speaking or understanding it not that they can't even speak or understand any sentence again in that language. Amina don't speak or understand a jot of English. It's strange to me. Let me clarify my position on this matter, which is that while Amina was kidnapped, being among the WAEC-taking Chibok girls is hard to believe. |

bright007:Dude....(are you a dude? Sorry if you're not) Nigeria as a whole is educationally impoverished. Schools authorities conduct runz & help students write WAEC then get into higher institutions. Thats why you see an (under)graduate vomiting abominable grammar. I was at a school in Anambra to present a speech to JSS 3 students & the VP asked my to address them in igbo (only language they could digest). So you see, it's not a Northern thing. I've heard of state Governments passing a resolution for students to be taught in their mother tongue. They called it mother tongue preservation. So you get through this system and what do you get? Future leaders who can barely think, not to talk of engaging intellectuals & world leaders. Their excuse is that Japanese, German, Chinese and other nations teach their young in their native tongue. But in their myopia, they fail to see that in Japan, China, Germany, etc they are mostly monolingual and instructional materials for schools are written in the language, as well as examination tools. So here in Nigeria, so idiotic governor promotes vernacular instruction in schools but provides instructional materials (physics, chemistry, math, literature textbooks) and exam tools (WAEC & JAMB) in English....and you wonder why there is mass failure. Yet Nigerians students abroad are breaking records. P's... Pls disregard the typos. No time to proofread & edit. Una welcome. |

Ndifereke: You made me laugh with the from Nursery School. I doubt they have Nursery schools there. You need to watch a Chibok documentary to understand. The place is neglected. |

[s] cramjones:[/s] Stop regaling the rest of the sane world with your tomfoolery cramjones. Your conjectures lend themselves to the most farcical logic I have encountered in a long time. Put your thinking cap on and ask yourself if Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, who has been a thorn in the side of the ruling party for sometime now, was also in on the act. ![]() WAEC Releases Results Of Abducted Chibok GirlsSource: https://www.informationng.com/2014/09/waec-releases-results-of-abducted-chibok-girls.html |

ATTAHDYE:I wonder ooo, our former first lady is said to be a graduate and can't speak good English. I am surprised anyone will use that as a yardstick in discrediting a news.Even in the east , ANAMBRA...Despite the level of exposure, I was surprised to have students who can not speak English. I am not sure anyone remembered that teacher from Eod state, she was an highly placed education officer and could not even read, so why is anyone supersized that a total dunce CAn have A1 parallel in WAEC |

tayebest:Another Zomby let loossed. What Nigerians are talking is to prove that the girls are indeed the school girs. All you need to do is to provide evidence or proof of whatever sort so far there is proper connection linkage to the school, girls etc. In this case, speaking English is one of the most likely proofs. |

About being able to speak English, I served in Katsina State (Government Unity Secondary School Malumfashi to be precise) I took SS1 to SS 3 classes and I can say without fear and all sense of truth and sincerity that there were (and still are) many of them that cant speak one "line" English Language correctly yes I dare any one to challenge me and I will connect you to tens of people we served together that will confirm this to you . This is personal first hand experience not dem say. if this is not true why is cut off mark for govt unity schools for southern states (East in particular) as high 70% and some northern states as low as 5% yet more candidates will still make the cut off form the south than the north so why are you all surprised at her inability (if true) to speak English is it coincidence that the total no of candidates yearly in the whole of northwest region (6 states) that pass Jamb is always is less than 50% of candidates that pass from only Imo state despite the fact that population of some north western state is 3 times that of southern states combined there are many instances I interacted with SS3 students in Katsina and got the response BA TURENSHI i.e I don's understand English language the aim of this post is not to say if Chibok girls saga is scam or not but to say categorically (from first hand personal experience) that it is very possible for SS3 student preparing for WAEC not to be able to speak English. as a matter of fact they are everywhere in Nigeria not just the north. |

When someone said we are fantastically corrupt people are still debating the chibok issue.when Jonathan asked for the list of the student who wrote the exam in that school, the governor said for security reason that can not be made available. Protecting the Scam.my take is that if the President should have doubt then forget it is a scam.it is only in Nigeria that white is black and black is white.the Nigeria logic my brother is insane. |
