cramjones:Chai! Posterity will not forgive me if I don't comment. I served in yobe state in 2004 in a government secondary school. 1. The students COULD NOT speak a word of English 2. They were promoted whether they passed or not 3. Many of my female students were married with families (and children)despite the fact they were young teenagers. 4. We just taught them for teaching sake as corpers though we(the corpers) all knew what we were teaching didn't benefit them in any way AT ALL. They didn't understand ONE SINGLE WORD 5. Some adults, older than us corpers were in the class while their children were also students in the same school(and some even in the same class!) |

how come SS3 student kidnapped two years ago is 13yrs now? meaning she was 11yrs when she was writing WAEC how come SS3 student sitting for WAEC can't speak English? maybe The teacher will interpret everything bin hausa language. how come Kidnapped Chibok Parents couldn't identify her? How come the school was closed by the state government, but allowed only SS3 students to come and wrote the exam with the promise of max security, but the girl arrived and stayed in school for up to six weeks before her abduction? USE YOU HEAD TheGoodJoe: |

hausameat:@ least 70% of secondary skul students in northern villages can't write their names well talkless of speaking English.. also know children are begged to come to skul cos it increases the funds allocated to the skul in question so nobody fails at all...even if they fail all subjects all students are promoted to the next class..when its time 4 waec, special centres are used where outsiders and in some cases corpers help out and get paid..d whole chibok scam is like any other boring nollywood movie. |

Sentiment apart. The said girl came in and tell the world that the Sanbisa Forest is to guilded for Nigeria Army to penetrate. Now ask yourself this question. How did she know the strengt of our Army? How then was she rescue alone or she walk out of the camp just like that. |

Ndifereke:The post quoted below is what happens all over the country bugzygee:Mind you, there is a boy in my SSS1 class who at the time, was older than this girl's present age (19) and who couldn't speak a word of English, the fact that you have not experienced it does not mean that it is not happening. All those schools do is just push them through the classes till they graduate. The teachers hardly even teach them, I still get very angry when I remember those days and what happens in this country. As a matter of fact, I had to go and forcefully call my students to the class from a farm where one teacher was using them as labourers (In A/Ibom, it's practical Agric instead of Agricultural Science as a lot of us know it), does anyone need English to do that. I also remember seeing Pry. Sch. pupils in the farm instead of the class working for one teacher or the other, the whole situation is pitiful, you had to witness it to believe it. |

cramjones:Since you have made up your mind be as ridiculous as you can be, nobody go hold you. Continue ur rant. Afterall, who your yeye write up don help? I am a serving corp member here in sokoto and the aboki behind my villa here just finished writing WAEC lastmonth and hes preparing to write NECO. He repairs electronic units like torch, radio, chargers etc. He is a science student. I have never, as in NEVER communicated with him before all by myself. I require another secondary school guy from another school to help us translate from english to Hausa and back to english. It was thru d same medium he said he is looking for someone he will pay to help him sit for his WAEC. FASTWARD TO THE JUST CONCLUDED NYSC CAMP AND POSTING. a corper was posted to my school with a degree in agric. He doesn't speak nor understand english. I am not done yet, funny abi. That aboki who I said lives behind my house attends the same school that is my PPA. I teach the BIOLOGY to SS2 student. Most can neither understand nor express themselves in english language. My Advise. Don't stay in your limited reality and comfort zone and talk about people you have no idea about their culture, Identity or struggles. Goodnight. |

cramjones:I don't know about your other points but your number one is so common in Borno State. I did my National Youth Service there in 2005. 98% of the students of all classes and subjects barely speak English. |

It's absolutely a disgrace, after all the years of presidency n all the vital Positions in the country yet they could not at least give education to their land, and some of them still feel proud to say an SS3 human being can not speak even local English or hear. Shame to u as u say such with u mouth. Umu Ewu. ![]() |
