I do condemn violence but not without getting as much details as possible to the circumstance that let to it. Can't just rush to condemn every violence, mostly if details of what transpired are sketchy and unclear like in this case where no details of what happened was told.

That's you, mate. Every family isn't same and everyone ain't you. There are better ways to correct someone than beating them and not everyone have the placidness and quietude not to react proportionally when physically assaulted.

The world has gone past the era where hitting someone was generally accepted as a corrective approach. If you can't correct a person, especially an adult, without resorting to violence then don't meddle in their affairs. As I am now, hitting me just coz one is my senior may not go unrequited.

Every family even in the West got some forms of corrective measures.

But I am yet to see any family tolerating any form of retaliation or attack from a younger brother to an elder.

This dude will regret his actions for a long time, especially now that the sister don't want to have any business with him anymore.

Trust me you don't want to be in this kind of mess with your sister and not when she an adult . And brother can always overlook ride on.

True, the degree of the retaliation was extreme and it's possible his intent wasn't to inflict much harm on her. This is just similar to the scenario where you may return a slap to someone who is unwell and die in the process but the intent wasn't to kill the person.

Requiting violent for violent isn't the best approach just as violently assaulting someone coz one is a senior sibling ain't also an acceptable approach. Both must be equally condemned.

Well, you can't tell if he will bother if the sister cut family ties with him. If he does then she too will miss the relationship that existed between them before now.

In the West, violence against anyone is criminal and condemned, and this has nothing to do with age or seniority. Hitting your own child is punishable by the law so citing the West makes your argument silly.

It's simple, don't hit anyone if you can't adopt better corrective measures in passing across your message. When and if you do, you must be receptive to a proportional treatment.
