EFCC Gets Order To Remand Chief Femi Fani-kayode For Three Weeks by lamzybaby: 4:14pm On May 23, 2016 |
Despite having been served court notices for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights, the EFCC today sneaked Chief Femi Fani-Kayode into an Ikeja magistrate court where they obtained a highly contentious warrant to keep him in their custody for another three weeks even though EFCC requested for a thirty-day remand warrant. Chief Fani-Kayode’s lawyers had served the EFCC the court notices from a Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, 20th of May, 2016, but to our consternation he was whisked to Lagos last Thursday and taken to an Ikeja Magistrate court this morning where they applied to keep him for another thirty days. Looool that's not what happened.... Here is what happened EFCC gets Fresh Remand Order To Hold Fani Kayode For Three Weeks by lawyard staff | May 23, 2016 | Information, Latest | 0 comments The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has applied for a 30 day remand warrant pursuant to section 264 of the administration of criminal justice law of lagos 2011 to hold a former Minister of aviation and director of the Goodluck Jonathan campaign organization Chief Femi Fani Kayode before an ikeja magisterial Court. image The EFCC had earlier held Fani Kayode in Abuja for 14 days pursuant to a warrant granted by an Abuja magistrate court. Counsel to The former aviation minister opposed the EFCC’s exparte application stating that it was a breach of his clients fundamental human rights and an abuse of court process as a fundamental human rights enforcement suit was currently before an FCT high court and it would be an abuse of court process if the application is granted by the magistrate court. image Wale Balogun the counsel to Fani Kayode has also applied orally for bail to be granted to his client as the EFCC is abusing court processes. The magistrate Mrs B. O Osunsanmi stood down the case for an hour before delivering her ruling. She held that the Defence counsel failed to attach evidence of a pending fundamental human rights suits before her court. The honourable magistrate thereafter granted the EFCC an order to hold the respondent for three weeks. After the ruling Fani Kayode consulted with his lawyers before being whisked away by the EFCC. http://www.lawyard.ng/efcc-gets-fresh-remand-warrant-to-hold-fani-kayode-fo/ 8 Likes 1 Share |

Femi Fani-Kayode is in trouble, but not in much trouble, he will be detained into a nice & well fitted room with good air-condition, he will be feeded well too, so tell me. Well the EFCC is still gathering dirts on him so they could charge him to court, Femi Fani-Kayode is in a pool of problems even his Political party cannot help him. I dont trust the EFCC cos it is an organisation managed by human (people) and people can be brought (bribed). |

Way to go. DeltaOil:What the govt is fighting is shameless molestation of our treasury by the last govt. Not PDP campaign monies. However, if in the process of unearthing how they stole our monies, it's discovered that PDP used our treasury to fund their campaign, their headache, their cup of tea, their cross. We don't give a damn. Na GEJ own go sweet pass. If ND and their militants want to grind the economy cos of it, let them do so. We don't care as well. 12 Likes 4 Shares |
