14 Things President Buhari Has Changed Since Assuming Power by olokfor: 2:21pm On May 24, 2016
The presidency over the months have been jibbed by many. While some see President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as slow and inactive, others see it as in capable of bringing the promised change.

However, one need to ask; have things remained how they were when President Muhammadu Buhari took over about a year ago? Certainly not! Here are 14 things that have changed:

1. The government closed 40 accounts in NNPC to give room for accountability.

2. The Port Harcourt and Warri refineries are back in operation with 60 per cent capacity and producing 7 million litres of PMS daily. The Kaduna refinery also resumed production at the end of the April, 2016.

3. President Buhari directed the CBN to disburse N689.5b as bailout to 27 states to pay salaries.

4. 34,000 The number of ghost workers draining the nation’s resources now expunged from the Federal Civil Service, saving N2.29b in the process.

5. President Buhari saved $1m by his directive stopping the appointment of a government delegation for pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

6. On assumption of office, the President cut down the number of ministries from 42 to 25 to reduce the cost of governance.

7. $321m The amount Switzerland will repatriate to Nigeria from the illicitly acquired wealth of the Gen. Sani Abacha family.

8. The Nigerian troops has rescued a total of 11,595 in the ongoing operations in the Northeast as at February 2016.

9. The Presidential Committee set up to probe contracts awarded by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) from 2011 to 2015 has recovered N7b.

10. The President secured a $5m support from U.S. government June last year and another $40m in April 2016 for the fight against the terrorists in the sub-region.

11. The government saves $1b annually by the elimination of the Offshore Processing Agreement (OPA) through the introduction of the Direct Sales and Direct Purchase (DSDP) scheme with reputable off-shore refineries

12. The Port Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna Refineries now produce 7m litres of PMS per day.

13. The implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which stands at N3trillion has provided greater visibility of government revenues and cash flows. A war on high pedestal.

14. Buhari intensified the anti-corruption war which has led to the arrest of high profile public officers. Such cases include the ones against former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman Olisa Metuh, Daar Communications Chairman Dr Raymond Dokpesi and former Chief of Defence Staff Alex Badeh.

Op add this

15) the rate of unemployment has increased

The economy is in a bad state even with all this so called changes claimed to be made

Change is a gradual process... Why try to build Nigeria in a day? China, America, Great Britain, Rome etc were not built in a day.. You can't kill two birds with a stone, Mr President rushing things will only crash the economy

Tackle a problem at a time....

One year anniversary achievements? Brother that's verbal and papers achievements, ...Nigerians need physical/landed/infrastructure

We need real achievements that both parties, The

Work, ...No Nothing, things are too cost, taxes very high

...I perceive austerity measures

AFRICA BE WISE BY REV. CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSc DD

Africans only celebrate people when they are gone. This attitude must change. It's not an African culture but a demonic culture. We must learn to celebrate what is good and good things will come to us. We must learn to believe and love the truth, if we love the truth; the truth will come to us. People who love lies will always have lies. Their lives will always become a manifestation of lies. Love the truth and the truth will celebrate you. Africa, hear me; celebrate good things.

When you find something good, don't destroy nor curse it, don't be the one who will not let good things rise. When people do good things, praise them. It's so sad that throughout Africa, people only love the dead, they celebrate the dead and destroy the living. Those working in the media no longer report when good is done... They spread news that brings others down and make our continent look bad.

Today a lot of people in Africa have come to believe that anything good or successful must have some elements of demonic power. This kind of mindset is completely wrong. Celebrate good things and you will find the spirit of God working on your behalf, hallelujah.

We have sport men and women who have done well, celebrate them. We have politicians who have actually done well, let's celebrate them. We have all kinds of achievers in our societies, they should be celebrated and not destroyed.

I said to those working in the media to write good news. Africa celebrate good things, celebrate what you have. This message is a call for change, leaders of Nations should look for what is good in their country and praise it. Do not destroy the image of a man just so you can look good.

In school, praise what is good. The government really don't give scholarship for excellence in school, all that has been forgotten. We have to change such system and do what is right. Don't frame up good people, don't castigate their character nor make them look bad. If we make everyone look bad, the younger generation has nothing to look up to. Let's praise what is good and be wise with our dealings with others.

Join me to say, "Africa be wise." The call is the same throughout the world calling for Africa to be wise. It's time we Praise and celebrate what is good in our society. If we do this little things, the will be a great difference and we will begin to celebrate more and more prosperity. The prosperity that few people are enjoying will become what every other person can partake. Everyone may not be rich the same, but everyone can have enough. In fact more than enough so that they can help someone else.

nice question, the refine product cant be distributed without the marketers, and in the process marketers wil hoard it, then divert it to other country for 300naira, that resulted to fuel scarcity, only nnpc cannot be selling for 86, and 7m litre wil not b

Wonderful, oya let us clap until our palms get sore. These wonderful "14 things" have positively impacted the masses, no be so? Our lives are better now than it was one year ago no be so?

Courtesy of Buhari's 14 golden achievements:

*Food and essential commodity prices are more expensive than ever before, making feeding a major challenge for most ordinary Nigerians.

*Unemployment rate is higher than ever before, thus increasing the army of desperate and dangerously idle youth.

* Fuel Price is higher than ever before.

*Inflation rate is higher than ever before.

*The poverty and misery index is higher than ever before.

*Exchange rate against the major currencies is higher than ever before, making our Naira virtually worthless...

*Crime rate is higher than ever before, as a result of the aforementioned factors

*Quality of life and standard of living is AT AN ALL TIME LOW courtesy of the aforementioned factors.

Now, let us all clap for Buhari and his 14 wonderful achievements again until our palms get sore.
