Nobody is demonizing them but only painting the true pictures of what is perceptible to the senses.

The masses are no fools and when elected leaders give their best the masses will defend them.

Its not even as if the Nigerian masses demand much from her politicians.

Dee Sam raised the standard of leadership in imo state and no politician is yet to get close to such.

Go to the streets of imo and see how Dee Sam and papilo are celebrated. May the soul of Dee Sam continue to rest in peace.amin.

then why are you guys so hard on Okorocha, even his predecessor never had this kind of animosity and what is even the hope that his successor will get to the height of Deesam, Sir whatever is happening in Imo state is also common to other states as well, Can we say any governor in the sw has gotten to the standard of Awolowo? Definitely not but I think you guys should take it easy on Okorocha, even the former governor of abia state who is now a senator is not getting these hard knocks like Okorocha is getting. na beg I de beg una.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has said that his administration in the last five years initiated and completed 1000 projects.
Okorocha, during a parley with journalists at the Government House, Owerri, as part of celebration for Imo at 40, said, “My government is focused with the mission to save and protect the interest of the people and I want to be remembered as a man who worked for the good of the people.”
He said that his administration had also completed all the projects started by previous governments of former governors Achike Udenwa, Ikedi Ohakim, late Evan Enwerem, and late Sam Mbakwe.
He said that the N26b bailout fund to the state was used strictly to settle debts owed by government.

1000 is small. Only 305 school buildings in every ward of the State and over 50 other remodeling and new schools is 355. The amazing thing is that the rate of ongoing construction at the moment is too much to ascertain despite the economic challenges Nigeria is facing.

For those of you asking a whole lot of questions about the Governor's achievemets in Imo state, here is the opportunity to ask the directly to the governor. HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA TO APPEAR ON FRCN PHONE-IN PROGRAMME

This is to inform the People of the State and indeed, the general public that the governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha will, on Saturday, May 28, 2016, be at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Headquarters in Abuja to appear on the Phone-in programme of the Corporation, called, Radio-Link.

The programme will last for two hours, from 8am to 10am.

During the programme, the governor will tell Nigerians in particular and the world at large what his administration has been able to achieve in five years.

Nigerians and other interested persons will also ask the governor questions on diverse issues.

We wish the governor, a blissful outing.

I knew Ohakim's case was that bad especially when he beat up a catholic priest but in all I think Imo people should choose their next governor wisely and hold him accountable like they are doing for Okorocha though in a very harsh way which I think its not too fair. I think Okorocha deserve some commendation, even in rivers state some still admit amaechi did well in first term. We shouldn't allow politics of bitterness to overlook some positive sides of our Governors. People say all sorts against Tinubu but he laid the foundation upon which fasola and ambode are building upon today. The likes of akpabio tried, past governor of enugu tried, amosun is trying, mimiko did well first term, aregbesola tried first term, truth is if we have more governors like these men in their good days, Nigeria will be better off. States like delta am not sure have been fortunate. Thank you Sir.

I see so many paid PDP cry babies in this thread doing what they know how to do best - Wailing.
Rochas may not be perfect, but he is surely one of the best thing to have happened to Imo state after Dee Sam Mbakwe. People say his projects are substandard, I agree, but is it not better we have some of these projects on ground than have none? How many of these so-called substandard projects did Ohakim construct? How many Governors in the SE can even come close to Rochas in term of achievements? How many?
Imo state is in good hands as far as many Imolites are concerned. There is no nook and cranny in Imo state that hasn't felt government presence. Is it roads, modern schools, market reconstruction, town upgrade or General hospitals every community in Imo state can boast of three or more of these.
Although his second tenure may seem rough for civil servants in the state, yet every true Imolites knows that Rochas has Imo at heart.

The full interview.

I Have Completed All Projects Abandoned By My Predecessors- Gov Okorocha

Gov Rochas Okorocha In An Interactive Meeting With Imo State Based Journalists, Correspondents and Publishers

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, SGI, Sir George Eche, Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Comissioners and other apostles of the Rescue Mission Government too numerous too mention are in attendance.

Here are some quotes from Governor Okorocha’s ongoing regular interaction with Imo based journalists, correspondents and publishers.

For me, honor is more than life and glory more than wealth.

In Owerri city, you cannot find a shanty public primary or secondary school. We have reconstructed all schools within the capital city. We have also built new schools from the scratch like the Young Scientists College, Imo Girls College etc.

We have recruited 12,000 teachers including the Youth Must Work teachers to reduce the shortage of teachers in our schools.

We have built, equipped a new College of Nursing Science in Orlu.

Almost all the 27 general hospitals in the state are 80% completed furnished with equipment ongoing. We intend to make Imo a health tourist destination. The Oshiedike Medical Diagnostic Centre is 100% the property of the Imo State Government.

Government House before my emergence was akin to a glorified local government headquarters. The entire landscape of Imo State Government House has changed.

The Government House Chapel is a project very close to my heart. We are not ashamed of the word of God.

Owerri has witnessed remarkable changes, from Warehouse Roundabout to Assumpta, Nze Junction Government House, IMSU Junction, Mbaise Road, Emmanuel College etc. These roundabouts have reduced vehicular traffic. From Amakohia to Warehouse junction etc. We have 5 inland roads from New Owerri to the city. We now have water falls. We now have two flyovers in the city.

Foundation Road is under construction and leads from Mbaise Road to MCC down to Orji Flyover to Amakohia Flyover upto Onitsha road. This is a bypass that will decongest the city.

Imo State is the busiest state in the South-East today. We now host major international and national events like NBA, CAN conferences etc owing to the construction of the Imo International Convention Centre, IICC.

At New Owerri axis, we have several projects like the new judiciary headquarters named Oputa Court under construction, ISOPADEC headquarters completed and in use. We have the 5 inland roads leading to and outside the city from New Owerri.

We have the Artisan City at Naze where handbags, shoes will be produced. We are attracting our people from Aba to invest here in Imo by providing an enabling environment for them to ply their trade.

We are building an "Alaba Market" to start before the end of the year. We are attracting our sons and daughters in Alaba International Market to return home and invest.

The new Concord Hotel is beautiful and recovered project of Dee Sam Mbakwe.

We have completed all abandoned projects of our predecessors.

Our local government headquarters have changed.

We have rescued Works Layout from flood and tarred the roads there.

We have one of the best liaison office in Abuja. We where in a rented apartment until we completed our Liaison Office which has since been put to use.

We properly utilised our bail out funds.

Mark my words, when am done with my second term, Owerri will be one of the best cities in Nigeria.

People just come online to spew trash. Imolites have no grudges with Rochas as far as development is concerned. Salary wise, Yes! But in terms of leadership, Big NO! Let those who aren't satisfied with Rochas, hang themselves.

His biggest undoing is the salary issue which was capitalised on by his opponents. As for works and projects they are undeniably visible.

Rochas greatest undoing is the non-payment of salaries to civil servants. Imo is a civil service state and when you joke with salaries then you're surely creating rooms for many critics to get a go at you.
Many people who join the bandwagon to criticize Rochas may have never stepped foot in Imo state. Many are not even from Imo state. But just because they heard that Rochas is in APC, they sheepishly join other failed goons in criticizing the fellow. One begins to wonder what is meant by the term ' Working Governor'? Or is until you join PDP that your seen as a 'Good Governor'. May God help the SE.
