With this new Oyo state government policy, there will be large number of secondary schools dropouts in Oyo. what's the essence of governance ,if they find it hard to fund basic education. Even health is in shambles, bad roads, decaying infrastructure everywhere. The question is why is black man like .
Of what use is a ss3 graduate from those public schools with majority earning over 5 F9's in their WASSCE exams? Most of the public school graduates are at best jss 3 standard.

You obviously do NOT know the work of a senator.
Please find out from the constitution and come back to share what you found out.

Yeah...That's not the duty of the Senate, but can't they engage in humanitarian service.
At least, try to build pipe borne water and good market structure for your people ( constituency). When I read stories about David Mark village, I shook my head.

A welcome move, considering the bureaucracy, corruption and lack of maintenance culture in Nigeria, education should provided by the private sector, or a public - private partnership.

In a capitalist model (the most efficient system), functions of the state should be privatize and exposed to market forces, government should be purely a last resort regulator, not a provider of services.

it is people like me and you that makes up management of the school, that school inspector who didn't do his/her job well enough That lazy teacher who only taught students thrice instead of thirteen in a term, that parent /guardian who fails to attend any PTA meeting of his/her wards. That parent who fails to monitor academic performance of his/ her ward. That govt body members of staff in charge of recruitment of teachers who recruited 'Dundee' in the name of govt teacher

We show ' I don't care attitude' as govt. Workers and wonder why anything govt. Touches fail.
Let the supervision of the schools be in private hands, and the school performance will gradually improve. Most of the private schools teachers earn way less than their counterparts in public schools, yet the teachers In private schools are 'forced' to give optimal best in teaching students. Public school teachers are now scared to take aptitude test for fear of being exposed. The Edo state teacher who couldn't read simple court affidavit she declared is still fresh.

The state government is RESPONSIBLE for tap water provision while the LGA is RESPONSIBLE for market structures, in case you don't know.
Where you work does your accountant do the work of the sales man?
In your school does your biology teacher do the work of your history teacher?

The lawmakers (senators, representatives, state assembly legislators) have their main role as making LAWS to respond to evolving issues in the society. They can be approached by their DEPRIVED constituents to lobby the

- state governor,
- commissioner,
- LGA chairman,
- supervisory councillor

to provide whatever is lacking such as the tap water and market structure.
That is how things should work in an orderly, human society unlike a JUNGLE inhabited by baboons & monkeys (soaked or not soaked in blood)

Affordable and qualitative education is what we want in Oyo State. With the current situation in Nigeria, I think it is the best move. However, they should make it affordable, such that the school fees per term doesn't exceed N500.
Which one is better? Mushroom schools built by individuals where school fees is N8,000 per term and PPP schools where school fees is N5,000 with already built classroom that just needed to be rehabilitated?

I will only start getting worried the day a SW state comes top 5 in WAEC, NECO or JAMB. As for now that your Osun state is struggling with Boko Haram states for the bottom of the table, I have nothing to worry about. The day Osun outperforms Anambra in any educational activity, point my attention to it. I will start getting worried then.

So many heart breaking news everyday and this made me to ask myself what are we enjoying from the government?, why must it be the poor people that pays for wrongs of the government?. This is a very bad initiatives i must confess because even if the education government is providing is sub standard i still believe half bread is better than none. We have private schools for people that can afford it and public school for people that really want their children to be educated but not financially buoyant. If these public schools are sold is it people that are still struggling to take a meal in day that will be able to afford it?....I only hope government knows what they are doing.

This is today's reality and you have to adjust accordingly or perish.

I am getting confused with this NL's sometime, i wonder why some people lack manner and couldn't understand simple english. Many are just shouting SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD? The schools are not for sale ooooooo, please read the adverts very well, it is called Public/Private Partnership (PPP). Please read very well before you start shouting and making unnecessary comments. Please let be logical, i think this is the best idea to develop the education sector. my brother n sisters, kindly check performances of all private organization compare with government properties managements. In a private organization, you will be underpay and you will still be working non-stop 8am-6pm with strict supervision, but come to government organization, you will be well paid and you will be working anytime you wish and under no supervision.
I as an example, im working in a private organization 7am - 6pm monday to saturday.. my brother if i tell you how much im earning... let me just keep quiet. i always envy my other colleague working at Government Forestry bblalala, dat guy only go to work monday and wednessday and come back by 2.pm, he always told me that, their office is boring and they have nothing to do. there was a time he asked me to come and meet him at his office, my brother, you can't imagine that, i meet this guy at a beer joint around 12pm when others are in their office busy working... he earns more than me, even his salary is 3x mine with same qualification...

i beggi, make ajumobi continue. nah better development

Must I respond to your irrational and misguided nonsense like the governor should privatize the government.

Do you mind showing us where and when such was done by any government on the surface of the earth? Is the governor responsible for falling oil prices and dwindling resources apart from his own IGR?

Do you even know or have any idea what measures they've taken to cut cost and government operations before coming up with this idea? Of course you have no clue, people like you jusy cry and come up with insane and misguided nonsense and get angry and start spewing insulting rubbish like " you are pawn used by the politician to defend their selfish interests".

Again, I hate going back and forth with simple minded and irrational people like you, you have no sane and sensible views to purvey.
