I can relate with you bro, pops beat me to the point I just stopped feeling the pain and next time I opened my eyes I was being rushed to the hospital! It's child abuse as far as I'm concerned and my prayer is I become a better father to my daughter. I absolutely hate it when I hear children cry, in fact, I've actually had to go stop my Neigbours from beating their own kids severally. All in all, I don't hate him now, especially now that one is financially independent.

My advice to parents. Discipline can never be right if always done out of anger. Never let anger drive you whenever you wield the rod

Fatherhood is a thankless job. Its too bad many a child have no love for their father and his only offence being obeying the biblical injunction; spare the rod and spoil the child.

I want to be a father and friend to my daughter, but I will not hesitate to punish her appropriately if the need arises and other avenues explored to no avail.

But then, I believe men should be indifferent to their children's feeling for them; either love or hate. All we need is your respect and to guide you in the right path and at all cost

U just made me want to cry! I lost my dad when I was four. I wish I had even small experience of how father's look like, thank God for d great mom he gave me. It's so unfortunate that ur dad did those things but it still beta dan now having anything to say about ur dad atall.

Bro, I can feel your pain cos same thing happened to me, even worse...However, I have forgiven mine since i know that no matter the grudges, it won't change the past, and I can only be free when I do and I'm glad I did.

My brother, I feel your pain. If I tell my own story, nobody will even tell you that coin has two face. I have forgotten about it now and won't allow such to bother me. I am married and have kids. My advice to you is just be yourself and have a forgiving heart and move on with your life. You have a promising future. When you marry, be the best dad for your children and don't emulate the pattern of your father. He is still your Father no matter what transpired between the both of you. You should know that your father is not perfect and no one is perfect, we all have our flaws. Love your dad, Be yourself and remain focus positively.
