Don’t Lose Hope, Democracy Is A Battle, Not A Banquet — Tinubu by HungerBAD: 4:07am On May 30, 2016

All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerian democracy partisans not to lose hope upon present economic challenges, saying that the quest for democracy is a battle and not a banquet. In his Democracy Day message to the nation, Tinubu who affirmed that Nigeria is just about out of the woods nevertheless urged the authorities to choose to fight recession instead of inflation in the face of the stagflation that had confronted the country.

Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said that fighting recession would help to create jobs, boost infrastructure and raise economic morale before subsequently tackling the inflation.

Noting the difficulties currently facing the nation, Tinubu while affirming that there was no better option to stick with than democracy said: “Remember, the quest for democracy is a battle not a banquet. We must stick with it and not give up hope, just when fairness and justice have finally gotten the upper hand. We must persevere not just until the tide of battle seems to have turned in our favour, but until the opponents of democracy have been decisively and thorough bested.

“Thus, we do not relent in defending democracy just as we should not relent in expecting the benefits inherent in democratic good governance. This means we must not sit back and merely let government contest with those who would again turn government against the general welfare. All of us must join the fray because the fray is about us when we live in a manner than fulfils our national purpose.

On challenges he proffered his counsel: “There is a problem that cuts all areas equally. If we are not careful, it will afflict us a long time to come. In a cold, swift stroke, the decline in oil prices has turned into a mockery the model upon which we had for so long based our political economy. We either must waste away or construct a new model.

“Our economy should diversify by expanding our infrastructure network, bolstering agricultural and farm incomes, as well as filliping industry and manufacturing to provide jobs for a rapidly expanding urban work force.”

But wait o, did Tinubu just realized that democracy is a battle and not a banquet
And while you people were campaigning, you presented democracy as a banquet they've been missing all this while, just in a bid to hijack power from your opponent. Now, breeze don blow, we don see the yanch of a fowl. It has now been seen that your party scammed Nigerians.

Now, you yourself have now admitted that there are hardship, hyper inflation, recession, gross unemployment, and the likes in the land.

Abeg, APC members, go back to the drawing board.

The truth is this, people are now used to the old way of doing things and changing them will be hard

It won't take Buhari anything to devalue naira, award few roads, and construct few things, the loan given to governors can do all this and still have a lot of change
But restructuring this country is what he is interested in, it's hard yes, but future generations will look back and thank us if we endure
The structure of this country' is messed up,
Restructure the country then implement resource control.

Mehn, God give some people brain sha--- "Battle not Banquet". cheesy

Jagaban, worry not, real Nigerians are patient, resilient, and are still hopeful Baba would take us far into our journey to Uhuru.

The only people that tend to throw bricks endlessly and demanding #Change even in their dreams are those who never believed in it from the very start and fought so hard not to see it come to pass- they are the perpetually doleful Ugandans!

Good morning good citizens of Nigeria!

Recession
Inflation
Stagflation

Only you?? grin grin

But trust him, he must applaud this current leadership so he f00lishly used the word "fairness and equity" to describe Buhari.

What is fair about calling a group of people 95%, and others 5%?

What is fair about calling Fulani killer herdsmen 'Libyans', while using such words like "look at that one Nnamdi Kanu"?

What is fair & equal about the Northern-cracy appointments for all sensitive security positions?

What is fair about the attempts to destroy Saraki through the CCT, while the Asiwaju of APC got a fair (biased) treatment from the same tribunal?

What is fair about arresting PDP members and refuting court orders, while all the looters in APC gallivant like f00ls in your cabinet?

Tinubu you're a disgrace to your children; learn to call a spade a spade! Agbaya, ni to ri owo! Loot & corruption will not allow u get sense

Many amateur politician make mistake in Government. They play for deception, or the win of hypocrisy, or even the creation of lawlessness. But many of these amateur politicians fails to recognise the importance of truth. Fairness is just as important as being tolerance, or building bridges not walls, or getting a lead in development....BENJAMIN IBE (2016)

Weak Masses are like hen which will sit on eggs that other hens have laid. These weak masses are thus open to occupation in discrimination. Weak masses can be found in Nigeria. They are often the Hausa , Yoruba and Igbo. one of the qualities of weak Masses is that they increase the volume of Chaos.....BENJAMIN IBE (2016)

I was so happy to read this that I have to share it here!

Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

At a time like this when many are seeing the economy of Nigeria from a negative perspective with fear and uncertainty, I just want to remind you that God will show you the way and you will never walk alone. One with God is majority! Happy Democracy holidays and wishing you a glorious happy new week. Good morning
