Nigeria lucky not to concede, three save by goalkeeper and defenders on the goal line...

Defence in shambles again..

That was Obanor.... and you're so right. This Korean team no follow.... an slightly above average tean would beat these Koreans silly.

tbaba1234:
This Korean team is not very good.. A better team and we will be down by at least 2:0

Nigeria somehow hit the crossbar moments back not necessary from good play.

Yeah.... 1-0. A sweet result I must say.

Thank God they lost. They must lose their 2nd and 3rd match too by fire by thunder. Useless team!!

Siaone should better come back home and start real preparations for Rio. We don't have a team yet and the team in Suwon can never be our core team to rio.

The coach needs to disband that yeye team and start afresh. Invite all the 60 eligible players he submitted to the nff to camp. Train with them, monitor them, screen them and select the best among them.

Rio is fast approaching, we need to start now.

I honestly doubt that. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if Nacho is no longer a starter there. He either learns how to play as a lone striker in 4-3-3 or he will be dropped. Pep works with one true winger and one inverted winger, just like he was using Pedro at Barca then and let's be honest Pedro isn't the best, so also he will use Jesus Navas as that true winger. Who he will play in the david villaesque role still remains hidden, he may purchase someone to play there or he can just shift Aguero off(I swear I don't know why people rate that guy so high, guy is crap when it matters) but Iheanacho? No. He does not have that blistering pace and his one on one dribbling skills aren't so great. So his best bet is that Pep will play a forward line of Aguero-Nacho-Navas(Navas is a sure bet I can assure you) with Nacho as the false 9 nothing else to it. And Silva will play, Debruyne will hardly suit Pep's tactics. This is a position where Iniesta and Thiago played for him, now the semblance there is that both of them can move out wide and play as false wingers with good dribbling ability when the inverted winger moves into the box and well, Debruyne tried to play as a side midfielder against Madrid and he failed there, he used to play there for Wolfsburg but the requirements back then were not so tough compared to now, and Nacho...I doubt if he can play as a midfielder again. Gundogan will certainly be a starter the primary issue now is who their DMF will be because Fernando and Fernandinho? Bros make we leave that one till tomorrow

Nacho actually has a fast pace. Remember his goal against Manchester United Reserves. He is also very skillful but his role as a forward diminishes that. On the wings it is easier to express yourselves.

I did not watch Ighalo's goal against Luxembourg. I read Iheanacho made a blistering run. So I do not think pace is his problem.

Gundogan will still take a while to play because of his fitness. He has to work with the medical crew before playing.

For now, I see Nasri as someone who will benefit from Guardiola's system. Silva will play in the midfield and Fernandinho will pivot.

Navas will not play on the right because that will defeat the invert wingers play. Nacho is the best for that. He will adapt and I see Nacho fitting in.

Yes I did. When it matters most he almost always buckles. He either scores a penalty or nothing else and he is injury prone. He is not world class, he is just a good player with a lot of hype

Well I'm not suprised by this news. I didn't expect much from the players siasia called for the suwon tourney in S.Korea or maybe Sia1 thinks it's a SUWE tournament(but seriously, it's a slap on his face)...
I just hope he swallow his pride n invite the best of the best.

Siasia blames jet lag for loss in Korea
[/size]
https://africanfootball.com//bp_images/2016/06/Samm_29_July_2.jpg
Nigeria Olympic team coach Samson Siasia

Nigeria U23 team coach Samson Siasia has blamed fatigue caused by the long trip to Korea for their 1-0 loss to the home team on the opening day of the Suwon Invitational Tournament.

The African champions lost to an 86th minute goal scored by South Korea's Choi Kyubaek from a free kick which caught the Nigerian defence –line ball watching.

They play against Denmark, 4-3 winners over Honduras, in their next game on Saturday.

Siasia said his players were not able to play their game as they were still suffering from jet lag occasioned by the long flight from Abuja.

"The flight didn't help matters, but then that is not an excuse for us not getting at least a point from this game,” he said.

"The goal scored by the Koreans was made possible because my players were adopting offside tactics; I don't know where they got that idea from as we have never kept offside in all our trainings and games."

He added: “I am happy the NFF did everything to make us come for this competition as it has exposed the boys to see things from a bigger perspective, even though I wanted us to win this game to boost our confidence.

“The boys now know that they have to sit up in the other games."

I hope Siasia gets beaten well in this tournament. It might force him to reassess.
I'm with u and I pray it happens so that he would be forced to do the right thing, but however, some of these players like Savior Godwin are going to perform excellently on this journey thus playing themselves into the main team but when the chips are down, they would be no where to be found.

At the end it boils down to the game. Nasri was built to play in Guardiola's pattern. I see him redefining himself and succeeding.

As for Nacho, he is hardworking young man and it will not take him time to adjust.

The rigorous training at the Etihad was to groom him to be able to adjust to different playing styles up front. I doubt Guardiola will play with an out an out winger instead of an inverted one.

He always inverts and most likely Sterling might lose out if Pep inverts Navas to play on the left.
