Non-profit New Incentives is looking to recruit a Field Officer to expand its team dedicated to preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) and maternal and newborn mortality in the FCT, Nigeria.

The Field Officer will support New Incentives expanding program that utilizes cash transfers to encourage HIV-positive and at-risk pregnant women to seek treatment at public clinics. The program is operated in cooperation with the Public Health Department in the FCT (pending final approval). The primary duty in the role will be to enroll women in to the New Incentives program at select health facilities.

The Field Officer will be based in Abuja and work at clinics throughout the FCT. This position will be available as of June/July 2016. The position may require occasional travel to Uyo in Akwa Ibom where the New Incentives head office is located.

Context:

Over the past years, Nigeria has considerably expanded the availability of health services for pregnant women. Despite this progress on the supply-side, demand from at-risk pregnant women remains low. New Incentives encourages these women to deliver their babies in a health facility with cash transfers and thereby ensures their babies are born safely. Women are given the cash transfers after they complete different stages of maternal health services. This massively increases the children’s chance of survival in the first few years of their life.

Key Duties:

- Enrolling at-risk pregnant women to the cash transfer program at select clinics in the FCT
- Interviewing potential beneficiaries to verify whether they meet all requirements and entering this information into a database using mobile applications
- Verifying multiple data sources to ensure potential beneficiaries are eligible to participate in the program
- Managing the hotline where women call in to get their mobile money tokens
- Assisting the management with other duties related to the program

Required Qualifications:

- Fluency in local languages/dialects spoken in the FCT, especially Hausa. Please state the names of the languages/dialects you can speak and your fluency level for each dialect in your cover letter.
- Nigerian national based in Abuja
- Female preferred (while New Incentives is a non-discriminatory employer this position requires frequent access to antenatal wards)
- Prior training and experience conducting HIV and pregnancy rapid tests
- Minimum of Higher National Diploma or Bachelor degree, preferably in the field of health or other natural sciences
- Experience with the Nigerian health system and clinic documentation, particularly related to maternal health, HIV/AIDS and/or PMTCT, desirable
- Experience in collecting, synthesizing and drawing conclusions from (health) data desirable
- Skilled in negotiation and careful attention to financial matters
- Detail-oriented, diligent professional
- Aptitude to deal with difficult emotional situations
- Passion to help others, prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission, and reduce maternal and infant mortality
- Very good communications and writing skills, English and dialects (verbal and written)
- Excellent responsiveness to email and phone requests
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, internet browsers, smartphones and new communications technology in general
- Hard-working, result-oriented and loyal
- Motivation to work in a young organization that is constantly changing based on stakeholder feedback and operates with a lean structure

Applications are accepted only online through Breezy HR and must include the following attachments:

- One-page CV
- Brief letter of motivation (maximum of 300 words)

The selection process for this position is competitive.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Candidates short-listed based on their online applications will have to undergo a series of short online tests and phone interviews that allow for the identification of the most qualified person in a transparent and meritocratic manner.

Hi... you should use the paint in your computer to do the re-sizing,
first open the your chosen passport with paint.
then on the left top corner , click on 'Resize' , then check the "Pixel" option and uncheck the "maintain aspect ratio".
Then on the vertical column type in "170" and on the horizontal column type in "132"
172 and 132 are the conversion of the dimension given from mm to pixel.
hope it helps

What I understand by the message in quote is that you will be required to make a presentation. I guess you should be given a topic or create one your self which you are to explain in 5 minutes. You could create a topic about it and ask for help on nairaland

To be on the safest side. Go with both a printed and soft copy of your presentation. If you can afford it, I will advise you print your presentation in coloured to give it the original effect. You can save the softcopy on a cd and package it neatly in an envelope. Please what position did you apply for and what did you study? Uptil now, I have not gotten an invite.

I didn't get an invite but I wish I did because I would not hesitate to do by best in order to get the job. One challenge am facing now is not having the relevant work experience. So I will advise you to attend the interview, it may just be your stepping stone to another higher door. But if you are already engaged or comfortable with where you are, no big deal.
