futurewise11:Look. I don't engage intellectually deficient clowns online. Every one has a choice of having a slavery mentality or not having one. If your Economics text book thought u to be a slave in your country. Good luck to you. Guess ur Economic textbooks also thought u, staffs should be laid off without due process, it also thought u that it is wrong to have unions as workers of an establishment, it also thought u that after years of studying you should be employed as a contract staff, paid as a contract staff, work as a full staff, make money for them as a full sack, then fire u like a slave. Well done! |

Retrench on what reason? Why does downsizing always have to affect the commoners only? Why not retrench some management staffers so u can save better? |

koboko69:You my friend is not making sense. We are in a country governed by Laws, and the Banks as a 'Private sector' has not violated any Law. The FG can not use the excuse of Unemployment to blackmail Private Employers, moreso, when they themselves are retrenching workers. Or haven't you heard that the FG sacked morethan 3000 Nigerians this yr alone? Stop using your emotions, use your cognitive domain! You will realise that your disposition on this issue is less than average |

Bluffly:not necessarily, people with sensitive info can hurt you any time, that's why you chose wisely and after background checks, it has to be those who can't burn the bridge. For whatever reason, management needs to follow the rules by given general on need to lay off then execute accordingly just just insensitively. After all we are are all coworkers, some are just managers, while some are not. |

Remii:Password management is not contained in the employment letter. Background check my foot, in a volatile environment with no citizens record. We are talking of a banking institution here and not a construction coy. Money matters is a delicate one. |

koboko69:There's legal procedure in handling dispute in every dispute, which can be harness to seek redress. You said said bank should be patriotic and complain about contract staff issue. Are you forced to sign up for such cadre of employment? Is there any labour law against such?NO. Contract staffing system is not illegal or strange. It's a stepping ladder for those who knows there worth and its a global practice.Presently in Germany alot of companies (Daimler,Bosch etc)are doing something similar. Its a cost saving strategy which is not illegal Companies are not charity organisation who cares about your emotions or financial difficulties. If the term of employment is not economically sensible, its at your prerogatory to resign....nobody force u.Many contract staff in the banking system are better off because they not easily sacked compare to full staff. I repeat visit your economics (monopsony)textbook again. |

onexile:May God deliver my people from slavery mentality. Read Section 20 of the Labour Act. Thank me later. in fact private sectors have been violating almost every thing contained i. The labour act. That Nigeria is a lawless country should not cage ur brain into slavery. Who are they banks to even engage in negotiations in the first place when they have banned or union activities. Or u don't even know as a staff of an organization, it is ur right to belong to a union of workers engaged by your organization. My people perish cos they lack knowledge, yet they come on line to argue blindly. The only way u can make a sensible point ks if u tell me the private sectors are not governed by the labour act in Nigeria |

koboko69:You are trying howbeit unsuccessfully to be logical. Pls stop looking for an escape route. Yes i have read the labour Act, infact i just finished reading it a while ago. Okay now lets argue in-line and within the contest. So i ask you a simple question, tell me precisely what labour law the Banks has violated in this instance? I am waiting for your response before we go into the basics of that Labour Act. |

ckmayoca:Being skilled require one to be proficient in a particular area of specialization and not be a jack of all trade. For instance, an electrician will patronize barber, tailor, carpenter etc. So therefore, you can not expect one person to be all. If you have what i don't have, then there will definately b patronage. Clarified? |

onexile:First and formost, there is laid down procedures to declare redundancy. It is must u call all unions involved and discuss and negotiate with them. Unfortunately, the executives of the banks have successfully cowered its workers to working without belonging into any union. In fact any form of union is not even allowed in the banking sector, which is a pure violation of a worker's right. The old generation banks, had unions then, forgotten the name they call it, UNI...cant remember. Offcourse, they have also been silenced. Now they have the NLC to negotiate and discuss with, how many of them do that before ur password refuse to log on again. I remember FCMB wrote a letter to my friend then, asking for 2 million because he didn't use the specified number of years before resigning, unfortunately for them, thr guy's father is a Lawyer. He simply wrote them back that, they breached the contract first by slashing his salary after which no new contract was signed. So therefore, the contract at which he was to return 2million to the bank if he resigns before the specific years is void already. That was the last time he heard from them. Free your self from slavery mentality. Imagine a bank sacks u at will, but want u to pay for resigning. |

koboko69:You keep talking about 'mental slavery' but from our correspondences so far, i keep wondering between both of us who actually is a victim of Mental Slavery. But i'm not gonna indulge you in that malopiniotic rendezvous. Now according to you, "the executives of the banks have successfully cowered its workers to working without belonging into any union" pls can you explain what you mean by 'successfully cowered'? *Were they under compulsion to sign the contract agreement? *Are you saying they were oblivious of the terms and conditions applicable to the contract agreement? I am still waiting for your response. And precisely, the Labour Law you alleged the Bank broke. |

I will advice you go take your bath cos you're actually stinking! Now listen dude, all those points you narrated has not answered my simple question which is, were they under compulsion to sign the contract? Was there a gun pointed to their heads as they were signing the contract? Pls answer these questions and stop your Iberiberism |

onexile:So cause they were not compelled to sign the contract, that makes it right. Even when the labour law prohibits it. U asked for sections the banks violated like a million times, i answered like a zillion times, even quoted it for u, since u were too lazy, and all u can bring forth is were they compelled to sign?? What a pathetic reasoning. Now await ur ban Mynd44 lalasticlala, i viewed as a guest with another browser, this particular post is still Active while the aggressor still roams around.
