I do not know or understand what happened there. Some suspect it is a bet that Iwobi lost. They suspect the face.

Either way, Pep loves pass masters and Iwobi ia a fine passer. I hope we look his way soon.

he lost a bet yo Kekechi snbhad to wear the jersey for a day. Kelechi also has Iwobi's Arsenal shirt (but didn't have to wear it cuz he won)

It caused a mild ruckus on twitter with some Arsenal fans going ballistic and even EPLZone and CityWatch tweeted bout it until the confusion was cleared. Some Arsenal fans were still a bit miffed though, others just said they should be glad it's not a Spurs Jersey grin

Anyway, totally off-topic, what did y'all think of Dele Alli's performance at the Euros last night? Some English fans concluded he isn't as awesome as the media would like the world to believe (duh! Nobody on that team is)
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by safarigirl(f): 8:20am On Jun 12, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to be rewarded for his outstanding breakthrough season with an improved contract at Manchester City.

The Nigerian international was one of the star performers in what was an ultimately disappointing campaign under Manuel Pellegrini - scoring 14 goals in 11 starts.

And he will be handed more opportunities by Pep Guardiola - despite the incoming City manager targeting a striker this summer, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his radar.

With Iheanacho contracted until 2019 it is understood City are relaxed about his position - despite speculation surrounding his future.

Any improved deal would be a reward for his impressive form since breaking into the first team - rather than any pressure to tie him to a longer deal.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak singled the 19-year-old out for praise in his end of season address - making it clear that he is considered a major part of the club’s future.

“We’ve had some good experiences this year with pushing some of our talents from the academy and Kelechi is a great example of that,” he said. “Credit to Kelechi at his age to rise and score 14 goals at this level.

“He’s got a goal-per-minute ratio that is quite remarkable comparable to many important players around the world.

“I think next year and the years that are coming he will have more minutes and I hope he will keep that goal-per-minute ratio at the level it’s at right now.”

Had to come out of mourning to answer TheGoodJoe's call. Iwobi looks odd in that jersey.

But thank God it was neither a Chelsea nor a Spurs jersey.

Awoniyi needs help and fast. He needs to leave Liverpool if he is not going to get a work permit and find a club with an attacking coach.

If he is not training with the Liverpool coaches, then he should not be there.
Awoniyi has never been up there if u ask me.

samueld0:
Siasia to drop Awoniyi, three others

A top official of the Nigeria U-23 side has
said that four key players are in danger of
losing their places in the team ahead of
the Olympic Games in August, following
coach Samson Siasia’s disappointment at
their performances.
Nigeria lost two matches and nicked a final
win at the Suwon four-nation invitational
that ended on Monday as part of
preparations for Rio 2016 which kicks off
in less than two months.
The culprits of Siasia’s wrath are central
defender Erhun Obanor, fullback Stanley
Amuzie, striker Taiwo Awoniyi and
goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.
The four players may have played their last
game for the Olympic team unless they
can find their form in the next series of
test games.
Siasia was saddened by the 6-2 defeat to
Denmark in the second game that he has
vowed to weed out unproductive players
in the team. He confessed that he was very
disappointed with the performance of the
players.
“Siasia is not happy that a player like
Taiwo Awoniyi has failed to live up to
expectations by not converting the
numerous chances that came his way
despite his potentials,” an official
toldGoal .
“He is considering dropping him for a
more prolific striker unless he bounces
back to scoring goals. That is if he
considers him for the other friendly games
any way.
“The chief coach is also unhappy with the
form of goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel, the
team’s first choice in goal and he has told
him to sit up or be shipped out.
“He is also not happy that Obanor has not
seized the opportunity left by injured
Segun Oduduwa to lay claim to the central
defence position while Stanley Amuzie who
he had so much hope in has been given a
final warning.
“Siasia told Amuzie that if he refuses to sit
up other players from Europe will take his
position.
“It was a heart to heart and very blunt
meeting Siasia had with members of the
team after the team’s 3-1 victory over
Honduras in their last match at the Suwon
Tournament.
“He told the players bluntly that the
Olympic Football Tournament is not a
child’s play and any player who is not
ready should go back to where they came
from,” the official concluded.
Siasia has less than two months to put
together a team capable of reaching the
final in Rio de Janeiro to match the feat of
his last team at the Beijing 2008 games.

if Taiwo will not sit up abeg trow the guy out of camp. we have beter strikers
I dnt believe this news because of two names I saw on that "to drop list": Stanley Amuzie and Emmanuel Daniel.

Iwobi wore it also in a quick fire Q&A (I think?) with One of his Arsenal mates when asked who his best friend is in the national team. Lol....

He looks good in the Man City Jersey. wink But Wenger and Arsenal fans on this forum and anywhere else will have none of it... Lol...

Chaiii... England. I really felt for them last night shaa. Yet to win an opening game in a euro tournament. Their Best Euro performance was in 96 with Shearer reaching the semis and they didn't even win their opening game.

Even the 1966 World cup winning side made no impact in a Euro tournament (they finished 3rd out of 4 teams in 1968). England has a poor Euro history.

But I tip Dele Alli and Co. to qualify if they can survive Bale and co plus beat Slovakia. (best 3rd placed teams dey qualify shaa... wink )

I have rated Awoniyi based on his work rate and speed. The amount of chances he has in every game shows his quality. In the same game, most strikers will not have the kind of chances or clear opportunities he gets.

His work rate and speed creates openings for his teammates to find him. His finishing lets him down.

He needs a coach to horn his finishing. If he horns that, I believe he can be top star.

Glad to have you back.

Goal and target for Iheanacho is set for next season. More goals than games started. The Boss wants Nacho to maintain his goal-per-minute ratio.

Come on Nacho. Come on Cityzens.

Ever since I've started hearing about the deaths of athletes or footballers in nigeria history, the death of keshi is the most shocking and disturbing to me,not even the death of our late goal king, Rasheedi is as strange and disheartening as this to me,just as I'm still trying to get over it then another similar death occurred,
We need to prayed to God to prevent further similar deaths,I don't to want wake the next day and hear the death of another former SE coach.

I think the finishing aspect of Awoniyi slowed his rise in football. He has every other thing to make a top attacker.

I get what you mean. He should not rush his development. Sometimes this thing takes time to come. He just has to keep training on his finishing and put in more time into finishing practice.

Awoniyi should also gather goals clips of Anelka. As many as he can. He plays in a similar way as Anelka and study them. Sometimes practice is not enough. He needs to practice and study. Find out what he is missing.

Yes, this finishing thing comes easy for the likes of Iheanacho, Osimhen and Success. I feel with study and practice he can achieve it.

Not working with the Liverpool coaches is also a problem. Some professional attack training with the reserve coaches would have polished him.

I hope this U17 set is Successful. This is the set I really want and need to win it. The Indians need to know Nigerians are great people and there is more to us than crime.

The video below show how the Indians treat Nigerians. This man did not do anything. He was pulled off a truck with goods were he was working and beaten. His crime was that he was Nigerian and there was a backlash due to some protesting Nigerians.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTqNcWQWWy8

I need this win with a passion and I hope our young men know what they are going to there in India. These young boys are going out there to disgrace racism.

The Truck in the video was driven by the Nigerians boss. The man wanted to carry the Nigerian guy but they decided to rush him to the hospital. He passed out inside the Ambulance.
