The reason we think he's not performing due to his qualification/profile is because of his non-performamce since he assumed office. Imagine power supply dropping to zero megawatts about three or four times after assuming office. Had it been he has been performing as expected, nobody will remember that he's a qualified lawyer/SAN.

Those you wrote up there are performing up and even beyond expectations, that's why their citizens do not have problems with whatever their profile/qualification is.
yeah he will fix 66 years of neglect in 1 year

Really, anyone from any discipline can serve as power minister. But mind you, these ministers have inherited an already established power infrastructure built hundreds of years ago by their forefathers who were actually scientists and engineers.

Nigerias situation is by no means comparable to these countries where the ministers are only engaged mostly mentainance and policy adjustment..

To build the non existent infrastructure we need atechnical person.

Fashola sadly, has only tried to turn this into a money making venture for his DISCO buddies while forming lawyer/super minister

Dont compare these countries with nigeria pls

until you do freedom don't fix your phone when it's bad don't buy a new one either. You're not a technical person

Those guys you mentioned tried very well. They were almost getting it. I can vividly remember during the time of Nebo, light in my area was about 18hours daily. As at today, we get light 6hrs per 48hours. Some time non at all.

Can u compare now and then? And don't bring the bombing issue in because that's why we have the government to contain all these.

they obviously can't.

Some of them are even saying we shouldn't compare ourselves with those countries whose Minister are from unrelated fields cos they are way ahead of us in advancement.

If it were nations lesser than Nigeria I compared, they would have screamed and formed a conclusion that the reason Fashola is yet to deliver is because we followed the footsteps of undeveloped nations by appointing someone from a non-related field as Energy/Power Minister.

These people are pathetic.
you really believe you can reason with pdp supporters. How quaint. Me don give up tey tey.

Some time in february this year, power generation peaked at its highest ever of 5074mw. After the announcements, some faceless miscreants probably directed by politicians picked up their dynamite and began a bombing spree and here you are, expecting power to be discussed without giving attention to an obvious full frontal sabotage of the system?

Quit deceiving yourself, Nigeria has no security and if any disgruntled miscreant or politician decides that he wants to Bleep Nigeria up, it can easily be done, and that is exactly what is going on presently. Escravos gas pipeline has been bombed more than 3 times within few months, this is the major line taking gas to most power stations.
I'm gettin a hard on for these wwf boys. Avengers ultimate warriors Egbesu boys. Boo ya. Maybe they'll knock some sense into the entire system

Oh yeah right... it's going to take at least 10 years to leave gas and move into other sources... and by then this admin would have been gone, and then the true sponsors of the pipe bombers and their supporters who litter cyberspace would celebrate and be like, "Yaay! Fashola/buhari were unable to fix power in Nigeria just like we said before the elections."

The underlying motives driving those excited over these gas pipeline bombings is obvious. The black race is really a sad story.

You can't compare Nigeria where electricity is the major concern and problem to countries who have solved this problem more than 100 years ago.

Just as anybody can maintain, drive and repair an already built car which was already build by an engineer. Those western countries you mentioned are already been structured so anybody can maintain and regulate those things not Nigeria where things aren't properly fixed yet.
This government isn't doing well in electricity aspect. They are only concern about increasing charges without even providing electricity
Same response I wanted to give

power didn't drop to zero megawatts more than once. Don't mislead the public.

How do you expect him to perform when gas pipelines supplying power stations keep getting cracked by militants who constantly get applauded by the same people feeling the brunt of it all?

Remember, this is a problem of over decades. Exercise patience.

But he once said a serious government will fixed power in 6 months, why hasn't he done that.
Nobody cares about vandalism, it has always bin happening, so such isn't an excuse

Yes,he said that, but he was talking about an area on lekki, Lagos State, not the whole of Nigeria.

He has come out to debunk ever saying such on a federal level.

The vandalism experienced now is quite different from what was obtainable then. This vandals are militants who were once placed in charge of protecting the pipelines, so they know which and which to blow up in order to frustrate power supply.

yeah so fashola will use hammer and screwdriver and build power plants abi. Why you no read engineering before you build house. Carpentry and electrician join not to mention 7 years for architecture. No need to delegate.

If you can build without architects and construction engineers, go and build 50 storey skyscraper if you arent an engineer u hear. You are comparing an ordinary cut and join electrician and bricklayers to Engineers and professionals.

This is why collapse building are common in Nigeria because we like cutting corners

I have written so much about this in many media. Nigeria currently has the most stupid people in Africa.
170 million dunces.

The question I always ask; what is the job of a minister?
Most Nigerian educated people will annoy you when they answer. The most uncharacteristically intelligent answer I have heard Goodluck Jonathan give was when they criticised his choice of Defence minister. His question was the same;
"What do you think a defence minister does? "

Ministers are vision communicators and interpreters of the mandate if government to ministries. They manage stakeholders, they take final decisions back to the ministries based on executive decisions made in council by the President .

Fashola is not going to design, build and maintain power and road infrastructure for Nigeria. He will vision along with the President, set up committed and agencies to chase specific problems, own problems and solve them from a legalistic and resourcing perspective and so on.

The challenge before him is to change existing policy so that all projects can be deliveted fast enough. That is why some of his recent comments are understood by those who know but for Nigeria's half educated PDP supporters it was propaganda without work

Imagine Fashola was governor who dealt with the issues of Electricity, Roads, Housing, Education, Health, Water Supply and he performed well. Then people think if he given one out of the very many areas that he won't perform?
