So Donald Trump and Dangote built those tower and factory solely without employ technocrats abi? We are saying a different thing entirely my broda. Going by what you just said, If Dangote and Trump could employ an expert in those field to build those stuff, while can't the government also employ expert to do the same thing instead of doing otherwise.

Since common sense is not common, I will only stop here.
why can't fashola employ engineers and contractors.

Common sense is truly not common

If you were a gambler which would you bet your life and that of your children. 1 or 99%

No shortcuts. We have to go through it

But hey if you want to spend the next 66 yrs siddon looking be my guest.
But it took Korea and Singapore and Japan and China 30 years to do it step by step.
I'm o go with step by step
To me this struggle is not a honest one. The greed in the region won't allow it succeed!

Go to south Sudan, they fought for 22 year for independence from the north and after that they started fighting themselves. Same will happen because even now there are lots of communal, tribal and boundary wars going on in the region.

Is Donald Trump an engineer, he built Trump towers among other huge buildings
Is dangote an engineer, yet he built lots of cement plants
Was awolowo an engineer ,he built first Stadium, first sky scraper, first TV station. He was a lawyer yet ran our finances throughout war without borrowing. He was a lawyer not an accountant. Not everyone received a detective education o

Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, is the minister of power, works and housing in Nigeria. Since his assumption of office, the nation's power generation moved up to 5000 megawatts but suddenly dropped to as low as a 1000 megawatts and has since been fluctuation between that amount and 2000 megawatts. Many critics have called for his head even when they know fully well of the challenges of faced in the sector. Even after applauding the Niger delta militants for blowing up pipelines supplying gas to our stations, these same people still complain when electricity supply drops.

They first stated that they are disappointed that Fashola promised to end power problem in the country under 6 months, a thing the minister has denied and urged then to state where he said such.

Their latest detraction is that Fashola is a lawyer and therefore should not be seen anywhere near where electricity issue is discussed. These same so-called literate think one has to be an electrical engineer before heading an energy ministry. They forget that we've had so many of them for decades without any success. What the sector needs is actually an administrator and not necessarily an engineer.

To prove those detractors wrong, below are profile of Energy/Power ministers in some respected countries abroad. Check to see what they studied in school.

1. Segolene Royal (France)

Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy

After secondary school, Marie-Ségolène attended a local university where she graduated 2nd in her class with a degree in Economics. Her eldest sister then suggested she prepare the entrance exam to the elite Institut d'études politiques de Paris popularly called Sciences Po , which she attended on scholarship. There she discovered politics of class and feminism.

2. Piyush Goyal (India)

Minister for power, coal, new and renewable Energy.

He has had a strong academic record - all-India second rank holder Chartered Accountant and second rank holder in Law in Mumbai University.

3. Alexander Novak (Russia)

Minister for Energy

In 1993 he graduated from Norilsk Industrial Institute as a specialist on Economy and Management in Metallurgy.

4. Joematt Pattersson (South Africa)

Minister of Energy

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from the University of the Western Cape and Higher Diploma in Education from the
University of the Western Cape.

5. Amber Rudd (England)

Secretary of state for energy and climate change.

She was educated at Cheltenham Ladies' College , an independent school in Gloucestershire , and from 1979–1981 at Queen's College, London , an independent day school for girls in London, followed by Edinburgh University where she read history.

I believe that our power issues will be solved as soon as the problems created by militancy is solved.

to the detractors..
criticise like a literate next time.
. In your mind you have written intelligently after extensive research. Only the DAFT give excuses but a resourceful person brings solutions. The unintelligent sees problems but the intelligent goalgetter sees opportunities. Militancy is just a minute part of the problems. Sabotage from investors and importers of generators and oil and gas is another. These are just few of the multifaceted challenges in the sector which will not be easily overcome and which requires coperation and support of everyone. But you know what, what goes round comes around. What you sow you reap. GEJ was villified and maligned UNJUSTLY in the name of opposition politics instead of supporting him for national interest. He still did his best in the circumstance, in the midst of dirty opposition. NOW, it is their turn, of course life is turn by turn. INFACT, the only option open to both Buhari and Fashola is to RESIGN for massive failure, cluelessness and lack of ideas. I remember the body language theory and rhetorics in the early days of the present government when indeed basking in the euphoria of Jonathan's achievement which they have failed to sustain. So next time be objective and thoughtful when writing.
