THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said it has the right under the law to freeze the account of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State despite the immunity he enjoys from prosecution.

The EFCC was reacting to claims by Fayose that the EFCC, which had placed embargo on the operation of his account with Zenith Bank Plc, has no right to do so because he enjoys immunity.

The Commission said Fayose’s immunity does not extend to any suspicious account he runs being frozen.

This was disclosed in an interview by the spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren.

Uwujaren said fayose's account has being used to move funds unaccounted for and that the EFCC has the right to investigate any governor whose account is being used to move funds, adding that “Immunity does not prevent EFCC from investigating suspicious accounts of those enjoying immunity, and Fayose cannot be an exception.”

because all other theives kept their runny mouths shut. Fayose lives in a glass house and yet thought it wise to throw stones. Please don't play the victim card like a nagging woman. When a man throw the gaunlet in the ring, its assumed he is ready for the ensuing fight. Let fayose prove all the mouth he has bbeen making. Buhari is soft, if it was obsanjo , fayose woulda been a goner

Wrong move. On which court order? You can not take such administrative action against someone you can not invite to come and explain your suspicion.

Tis is a federating state for God's sake. This is part of the actions of this government that breeds ethnic unrest. Tomorrow you all will blame Jonathan for the mismanagement of the country caused by this government's actions or inaction.

Does frozening Fayose Zenith Bank account solve any economic problems we are facing in this country. How long will all these personal attacks stop.it seems we are back in a rebranded military style of governance. God will deliver us again.
