After reading through the Oops write up, I called my sister who live around that area, her narration was just a rubber stamp to the Oops write up She made it clear to me that not less than 40 landlords have been killed by the so called Ijaw guys yesterday,While 80% of those living around that area have packed their belongings in the fear of the next move of this guy's. She further explain that the said Ijaw boys who are into fuel bunkering claim the Landlord's in those area wrote a petition against them to the law enforcement agency, though none of them was arrested before they start the killing of Landlord's. The so called Ijaw guys enter the house, pick their landlord and murder them in cold blood. I further asked her why the policemen's attached to the Agric police station were unable to curtail them, her simple response was, the policemen can't stand the Ijaw boys in terms of armory. Here in Lagos we have a governor who claimed to have spent billions of Naira on Security. Presently the Nigeria military men have been deployed to the area but they have not confront the Ijaw boys in a gun dwell, what they have only done is to spray their gun in the sky. May God help this country,Ijaw terrorizing Lagosians and Yorubas on their soil. Gani Adams said in a recent interview that the OPC can no longer fight for the Yoruba course Again. where are we going. Following.... Buhari needs to understand something. Leave local business for the locals. Jonathan wasn't stupid to have awarded the contract to OPC. Same thing he did in the Niger Delta. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

OP thanks for clearing the air. To be honest, the rate at which oil theft is growing in ikorodu is alarming. I thought The event of last year where officers were killed around Agric by these oil thieves would have sparked the mop up of these criminals in those areas, but viola, here is the result. The security agencies like the OP stated, aid these criminal. I've been opportuned to be a witness to this when officers of the Area N police station in Ijede went to the house of one of these oil thieves by the creeks in Majidun area to demand for money. When I got there I saw over 500 50litre kegs there. So with all these, I wonder how such will be addressed. These people have no regard for human lives. For one guy saying they're Biafrian Terrorists, the people that were killed, were they only Yorubas? Let's say No to tribalism and criminality. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Quite revealing. When you read the truth, you could feel it in your sub-conscious. Jonathan awarded the contract for pipeline protection to OPC and the militants. Made them feel as part of the government and we had relative peace. May be Buhari thinks these our ajebutter military can match the fire power of the suicidal creek gangs who have nothing else to live for. Good luck with that. Today the Yorubas are left unprotected because Gani Adams has already stated that last couple of weeks. Lagos must remain safe. Buhari needs to recalibrate his thinking faculty and evaluate his egostistic priorities. because if Lagos boils, Nigeria is over. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Most Ijaw settlements are usually filled with armed thugs and they tend to be very violent and commits a lot of crimes. In the main cities, they are usually calm and disguise as gentlemen. They tend not to have a business or regular job they go to. Their activities are usually on the creeks where they either vandalize pipelines or launch out for robbery or piracy. |

DerKaiser:. You were struggling not because the OP's use of English was abysmal but because you wasted several years in institutions of learning you attended without learning comprehension. I will advice you enroll into any degree issuing institute and pay for a two year course in comprehension. A year can certainly not clean up the ignorance oozing from your cerebrum. 28 Likes 2 Shares |

Op is correct. Same was happening in festac around 7th Avenue. The useless police were collecting settlement. Eventually the army came in, after which we had the festac bank robbery. As usual, there is too much complicity because of the money involved. Earlier this year, those of us several avenues away kept hearing automatic gunfire from 2am every morning. 1 Like |

Pipeline protection contracts are unsustainable, and nothing more than paying protection money to the mafia, or paying armed robbers not to rob you. Now that this is officially in the open, the government should sit up and flush these thugs out. This is the true face of militancy, a complete generation of thugs who are incapable of an honest days work. This is also the future face if any Niger delta Republic. Disparate groups of thugs who answer only to their bellies. 5 Likes 1 Share |

ayokellany: Chisoz. ..... But the Op wrote better than some of these ladies and guys that claim to be qualified journalists. What I love most is that he did a first person reporting , not all that, according to a trusted contact who preferred to remain anonymous. He deployed the approach social anthropologists call participant observation. 13 Likes 1 Share |
