Yes, fiscal federalism is what we all crave for but when you destroy public property to achieve and end how then do you justify this means. Any individual or body culpable in destroying public property is first a criminal before gaining apathy from the masses.
Where in the world is destruction of public infrastructure celebrated?
Nigeria has proven itself an aberration. Otherwise, where in the world is violence and murder so respected that rather than prosecute marauding herdsmen and implement modern and improved cattle ranching, we're about having a draconian legislation forced down our throats that will legalise seizure or allocation of land for grazing routes?

What was Ken Saro Wiwa's offence? Is it today we started talking about the need for resource control, regional governance, fiscal federalism which will lead to d much talked about diversification of d economy? Why are we still where we are? Exactly when has dialogue taken us anywhere particularly when in favour of the people and not d elite or some born-to-rule tribe?

If this will bring d government to its knees enough to start being people-oriented and collapse this devilish, bottle feeding, bastardised form of federalism we operate then I'm all for it. Since there will be no justice for victims of violence from Fulani herdsmen, then it is perfectly alright to pull down this sick structure by force and then get it right in rebuilding.

No more one sided benefits to the detriment of others callously referred to as minority. We all pull our weight then contribute and benefit equally or we all suffer! Others cannot be enjoying while the environment that produces d benefits of others continue to degenerate. It cannot be that a person from the so called minority is not fit to govern just because northern islamic oligarchs feel deprived of their supposed birthright. Instead let us all feel the pinch, get serious and let everyone contribute their dues or we quit already!

Power generation dropped drastically before the NDA bombing, have we forgotten so soon. They should stop giving us these excuses.
I dont think, we had 5,000 GW in Feb beginning, those NDA guys blew up Forcados pipeline mid Feb. That's Nigeria's major gas pipeline zfor electricity gen and exports 300,000 barrels/day

Perhaps,a split away from the Nigerian baggage is long overdue.
They are bombing and killing, Herdsmen are killing and everybody in between is constituting a nuisance. Perhaps, you should put on the nationalistic attitude of the British by joining in putting a distance between the Oodua nation and the Nigerian state. There is absolutely nothing in it for us. Nothing. Nothing Nigeria has given us that we did not have before Nigeria or Nigerian independence. Heck, we are worse off. In fact, truth be told, yorubaland of 200 years ago is better than yorubaland of today. If both were countries today and compared together, that yorubaland would be the booming country.
I think it's time to go our separate ways!

A guy was arguing on this forum that doesn't matter, after Fashola assumed power. I was like how/why would you put a SAN in charge of power.
This man doesn't have a clue, believe me, it's a lot more than being good in administration.
We need an expert with a proven track record to manage the ministry of power.
I do not doubt Fashola's commitment, he did well in Lagos State and I'm sure he mean well for Nigeria. But I honestly feel someone else that is a professional in this field will have performed better.

Shut up jor. You are being insensitive and may God Judge you accordingly. You support criminality maybe because you or some of your friends and family members benefited from the mass looting under your GEJ. NDA have taken us backwards for their selfish interest and you are here hailing. It is quite silly.
I hate joining words with people but irrespective of what you think I just wanted you to know that GEJ by any standard is far better than the certificateless lying dullard. you call GEJ a criminal yet you have no evidence to nail him. NDA should never be an excuse for failure. There's no president in the world who has ever inherited a perfect system from the previous regime. GEJ suffered same too but he never blamed any one rather he took responsibility for his actions and inactions unlike the dullard who will always blame everything on something. Buhari is not a leader but a divisive, egocentric, sentimental and a clueless dullard.

I agree with you but I'll say maybe the only mistake the President did was to say it out. It's nothing new, even the governors do same without saying it. But people shouldn't act like they don't know these things after all what did Jonathan really do the region that supported him?

And mind you in the family it is only an unwise child that will harbour hatred rather thancompete amongst the siblings for attention and reward, it is only the lazy ones will be jealousy and envious. Imagine as one is washing daddy's car the other is sweeping, daddy will be left with no choice than to compensate them both. Healthy competition helps even in business.
Your very right about our politicians, sometimes the quiet ones are worse and about how a child should act but sadly most children are not wise or matured enough to grasp the concept of healthy competition,an 8 year old does not know or understand what a healthy competition is,all he/she will perceive is daddy and mummy seem to like Okon more than me ignoring their own inadequacies, plus i do not think parents should nuture an environment where their young children compete for their love and attention, all I am saying is that it is the parents job to set and enforce the rules including deciding shores, rewarding and purnishing accordingly, that way every child knows the repercussion for his/her action or inaction.Same rules for all.Your analogy might of course work for healthy young adults who are more matured.

U are totally wrong, someone doesn't need to become an electrical engineer to be minister of power. Ministers don't do practical work or field work.
but they do mental work? undecided

check gej administration many minister and President of different organization have experience in the field they are asked to pilot

Buhari offered most ministerial post as price for those who supported him during rough times. it is not supposed to be so, how will fashola have 3 ministerial posthuh

his he the Nigerian Einsteinhuh

people find it difficult to manage one post talkless of 3

think my fellow Nairalander

DONT BE A ZOMBIE TO ANY POLITICAL PARTY

Already looking for excuses for APC failure:

What do militabts and pipeline vandals want? They want true and fiscal federalism to be returned to Nigeria.

Why can't true and fiscal federalism be restored?

Only because Arewa soldiers created too many states - 20 - and hundreds of local government areas in the north through which northern Nigeria politicians take home undue large number of shared federal revenues;

and through the large number of states, north draws undue large number of political representation to determine what can or can't happen in Nigeria.

Nigeria is in a political stalemate. Blame northern Nigeria which refuse political reforms.

We warned all men of goodwill about the dangers of voting the dullard but the ethnic and religious bigoted ones like omenka et al lead us to this present precarious situation in Nigeria. The current government cannot maintain the over 5000 megawatts of electricity inherited from the previous regime. The true change we were seeking for was aborted on the 28th of March 2015.

Well it depends on how the parents go about it. It's not meant to bring disaffection but to show the children that there is reward for handwork!

I remember in my primary school days, if I'm amongst the first three in the class, I usually get extra chicken and toys that will make my siblings too work hard to enjoy the goodies next term. grin grin grin

It works for children even more, children are very competitive. If you go to a school and see how these children work hard to outdo their classmates in termimal exams then you'll know they understand these things. It's all a way to make them work hard.

It's hard time the rest of Nigerians join hands and boycott the niger delta area, since they feel Petroleum belongs to only them. They should keep the petroleum we will stop selling our food produce to them. We need each other to make the country move forward if they don't pay their part why should we. Boycott niger delta region

For those blaming NDA, when una yeye go end? Who is responsible for protection and safety of the country? Whose responsibility is it to provide infrastructure like electricity? Fashola u are defending shamelessly is he not d one that said we don't have power because Nigeria was being run by batueyos which he interpreted as amateurs?

NDA has been clear, d govt should decentralise and revert to fiscal federalism with resource control. The FG has been given d ultimate cure already and they have everything at their disposal to implement same. If they refuse to apply cure to an age long ailment, how is d NDA to blame?

You can imagine how dump these electric distribution comany are, at least a resonable business oriented personel will always seek for a cost effective means of producing his or her product, rather than wasting his resources, the difference is clear between using gas and water, water is readily available every where in thix nation and gas can be used for another thing rather than generating pw

Kachukwu is also a lawyer, employed by ExxonMobil and now Nigeria. Fashola achieved over 5000MW this year, a first in Nigeria history. He also did above 4000MW generation consistently. He's also distributing prepaid meters enmasse like never before, which is a great step in the right direction. If not for the work of miscreants and saboteur in the Niger Delta, we would achieve remarkable progress by now. Where have all the electrician ministers of the past gotten us?
