Point noted but it still doesn't diminish the right to self determination. How it is interpreted or implemented is purposefully left open. The existence of that right will always make the unity of Nigeria negotiable.

A better understanding of the entity Nigeria needs to be understood,
A new country is possible, I don't dispute that.
But until we know some basic truths, instead of twisting things, Nothing will be achieved.
For now the Unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.

Do yorubas have more land than Igbos?

I think we should restrict it to an Igbo speaking thing, and keep the door open for selected surrounding groups with shared ideology as Ndiigbo, groups like ethnic nationalities in present Akwa Ibom and Cross rivers, the Ogonis, Andoni, Opobo.

That way we wouldn't introduce fifth columnist into the struggle, it would also help in eliminating ambiguities.

Wat about Ijaws? Anything we do must include the Ijaws, even that their Niger Delta republic already include igbos.

Umumnem anam ekene. I support Igboland with Akwa-Cross....Igala and Idoma maybe but those ones are anti-Igbo too. They will be trapped in an overbearing Northern republic, maybe they'll be considered. I guess they'll choose when the time comes (if they're ready to denounce Islam)

Since GEJ came along and reunited the old east, igbos have learnt to see Ijaws as their bros.

How many igbos here have seen their dad in this dress? Since GEJ and after? Definately, not before GEJ.

maybe we should start a thread on this. Only if the jealous yorubas will push it to FP.

I agree with you that we should leave the door open but we should only do it in such a way that make them understand that we do not need them. If we actively seek out their support, it makes us look desperate and they begin to see it is wanting to dominate them and their resources. Let's just keep the door open. That's it.

Me Ijaw? Check my post history. I am more Igbo than u, pure Royal blood.

I am a pragmatist and realist. I share similar ideas with Nnamdi Kanu. I am far from scared igbo who want 5 state country.

No I want a powerful Eastern states at the far East of West Africa.

I am progressive, who understand the fluidity and dynamics of the igbo dichotomy.

Wat do we mean by igbo. Nnamdi Kanu defined it as people who mother tie two piece wrapper.

All our igbo is not the same and some igbos u cannot even understand. Thus the word Igbo is best replaced with Biafra.

Do you know the mindset of the average Ijaw towards the Igbo? I can assure you that it's not too far off from that of Yorubas, ofcourse there are Ijaws that are pro Igbo or just indifferent to the Igbo, but a large number of the average Ijaws still suffer from innate Igbophobia, rooted on falsehoods passed down to them by their parents about the Igbo.

I have noticed that most of these Igbo freedom seeking groups like IPOB and MASSOB hardly do their home works well, they just sit in the comfort of their homes and start drawing maps and lumping groups into the Igbo project without even trying as small as possible to gather intelligence on the sentiments prevalent amongst these groups towards the Igbo.

You can join Ijaw/Izon Facebook groups, there are many of them, and closely study the Igbophobic sentiments of most of their youths, then you pity IPOB and them Rest that are building castles on the air.

You see those people as brothers/ neighbors, they see you as a wolf in sheep clothing closing in to take their lands and crude oil (that currently don't belong to them) from them. They don't see you any different from Hausas and Yorubas, they see your plan of trying to build a nation with them, as you trying to displace their current masteers( North) that control their oil and replacing them( North) as their new masters in your new phantom republic.

Most of them have phantom stories handed down to them by their lying parents, of the Igbo attempt to kill them all or relocate them from their oil lands and replacing them with Igbos. They even have absurd stories of Igbos phantom failed attempt at renaming their towns by giving them Igbo New names.

And these ones on facebook are the educated ones amongst them that should know better, yet they hold strong to those absurd, unsubstantiated falsehoods handed down to them about Ndiigbo by their parents, you can only shiver at the thought of what the bizarre falsehoods the uneducated ones amongst them in the villages hold towards the Igbo would look like.

Brother, if you visit those Facebook pages, your outlook of things will change, if you see the amount of hate those peeps have for us, you will have no option but to return it to them in hundred folds, and you will come to take the stance that I am currently taking on this issue.

All of this you wrote wasn't necessary. Biafra has never been about just the Igbos only. If we remember, the two most senior men in Government after Ojukwu in the first Biafran Republic were not Igbos. Biafra is about Igbos and those who are comfortable with Igbos. The minorities that are currently destroying Oil installations in the Niger Delta are not doing it because they love Nigeria. At the end of the day, what is required is a referendum in the SS/SE and the Igbos of the lower Benue. Everyone one will then have the opportunity to opt in or out.

I am with Onenaira1 on this one. Personally I feel including ijaws would be too risky. They are too hot tempered. What if they later start to shout 'igbo domination', and begin to create problems for us?? They have done it before. Let everybody bear their father's name. We can be good neighbors while in separate countries. That is my own opinion.

There is a time for division and a time to unite.

The time for unity is now. Biafra nation is greater and vast than igbo.

The word igbo does not fully encompass our people, some are locked out.

Biafra provides us a means to incorporate elements of our people locked out.

Our culture are already the same.

I am all for Biafra. But I believe that currently, a Republic of Igboland consisting of only "Igbo speaking proud" Igbo groups with the door left open for selected Igbo groups to join us is feasible.

And truly speaking, I prefer an Igbo only speaking nation to any other arrangement, but I wouldn't mind any arrangement that will include friendly non Igbo speaking Igbo neighbours, especiall the Akwa Ibom and Cross River groups.
