Good day everyone. Please I need ur advice on this. I am a corp member in Rivers state. Recently, our water started smelling like dead rat, and we have washed the tank because we noticed some Spirogyra in it. But after the washing, the water is still smelling. My question is, is it from the borehole or the tank? Also, what can we do to treat the smell? Thank you for your advice. 1 Like 3 Shares |

Two options for you people: (1). Try flush out the water in the borehole with machine, for new fresh water. If that doesn't work out; try this second option. (2). Buy two rat gums... One for the tank, the other for the borehole. The curse is over.  14 Likes |

Possible causes:1.Borehole depth not down to the recommended 180ft so it's most likely getting "inflows" from some not so good ground water movement. My guess is that it qqqqqqqqq happened before in the past (possibly unknown to you). If certain that the depth is good then try the next point. 2. Try emptying all the water from the tank you just washed, leave it open and exposed to good sunlight for one or 2 days (you need to make alternative arrangements for water). In any case, try not to drink water from that source while the smell is still noticeable. 16 Likes 1 Share |

Ours here is coloured with a pungent smell so strong like the smell of sea. The only way out oluwabigloba is to get a water purifier ie after you ve made sure the odour is not cause of contaminants from the tank But its quite expensive. Me ve resorted to buying water from water suppliers or sachet water for bathing and co |

Try and contact any water treatment plant near you. Better still use chlorine to wash your tank and flush thoroughly with water. You can also call experts to chlorinate your bore hole. |
