OP, the download speed you are calculating can only be achieved in Mars, not here in Nigeria

Even MTN has reached 8 to 10mb/s IN Lagos at around 3pm in the afternoon.... I testify to that... So why not

After three months of unlimited browsing.... What happens next? Does it stop? What happens exactly?

In details please... I'm just a learner

I was like that before, but sometimes i just feel like 1TB of movies.. On my hard disk.. I deleted all one day like that..

For heavy users unlimited Great, I was dreaming of that 7 years ago but in the last 4 years Internet is not something of priority anylonger I download what is needful over the weekend in my office...

I bet you only 5% are heavy users.... Most are just average user who might not pay 9k/ month for internet
Their plans should be user friendly.. 2k for 30GB is Fair enough

I also stated clearly in my first comment for day to day use.. Unlimited internet might be worthless..

2k for 30gb?? ? Pls show me the way

How long would this last? Hope they won't start behaving like the other networks once they have attained the number of subscribers they are looking for?

I hardly download torrents. But torrents work. Very well, even on my phone.

CuriousX:

It's not good in my area because i have to hang my modem high up! Like really high in my room. If it's at normal level. 'No Service'. So yh, network isn't good in my area.

From what they wrote regarding fair usage. After first 3 months, there will be speed throttling after 3GB during 'PEAK' periods. That is like work hours

So for instance, between 8am and 6pm you can only use 3GB before the speed reduces. But after 6pm or say 6pm to 8am 'off-peak' periods you get UNLIMITED and MAXIMUM speed.

So basically when u pay 10K, you get...
3GB x 30 days = 90GB + As much as u can download during off-peak periods.

However, i reckon weekends also count as off-peak so weekends may be 24 hrs.
So, 3GB x 20 (business days) = 60GB + As much as u can download during off-peak periods (including 24hrs weekends).

Which either way still feels like a sweet deal. Regardless, unlimited still better than any data gymnastics. Lol

Finally, i will like to say this is not what Ntel has explained to me. But from what i read on their website regarding fair usage, this is what i understand.

I hope this addresses ur question. Cheers mate! smiley

Read my post above.

However, Ntel's network is not just LTE but LTE-A. Advanced! Which boasts of theoretical speeds of up to 230Mbps and the 'real world' speed is about 90 - 100Mbps which is pretty good. And they are living up to that so far.

Anyways, i also hope 'Nigeria' does not happen to Ntel. But to be honest, the only way they can keep the network good is avoid overcrowding someway either by fair usage just like i explained in my previous post or by making it expensive so many people don't use it (this won't help their profits anyways). Or well, by being very efficient. America has 300 million people and Internet is still dope. Lol.

Finally, Ntel is 'i think' the first LTE-A network available to residential customers.

Swift - 4G LTE
Spectranet - 4G LTE
Smile - 4G LTE
Ntel - 4G LTE-A

To understand LTE and LTE-A better, take a look at the pictures below.

Thanks bro...that was so helpful.... Another thing tho... After the three months... How much do you keep paying? Do you pay per month or do you pay another 10 thousand for another three months and begin browsing again but with fair usage policy?

Second question...
How do I get the sim If I'm in lagos?

Third question
Can I use it on an LTE enabled phone instead of looking for a spectranet modem OR LTE modem?

1. Lool. You think 10000 is for 3 months? That's cute.
1K for 2 days, 3K for 1 week, 10K for 1 month.
Payment doesn't change. Only 24hrs unlimited changes

2. Check their website they are at V.I and Surulere only for now.

3. Yes u can use in an LTE enabled phone as long as it supports LTE bands 3(1800) and 8(900). Cheers!

Using this Ntel on an unlocked Spectranet mifi on my PS4 and PS3 but I can't get it to sign INTO my PSN account. It at least tries on the PS4 I can download digital media on it and watch YouTube. I have tried using dmz, port forwarding and proxydns to no avail.

Anybody have a similar situation? Any solutions?

I think it's one band for voice and the other for data. Gionee M5 has only band 3 and it does data but not voice (I think).

I have the same issue. It browses on the PS3 and the PS4 but doesn't connect to the PlayStation Network.

I called the Customer Care and was just told "Thank you for the feedback". I responded that it wasn't feedback but a valid complaint. Same thing with Instagram, where photos and videos do not load.

I think because of the controls they are imposing on their network certain ports are blocked or it is their firewalls blocking certain connections. I sent them an email to unblock all the ports on my connection but I didn't get any response.

@Stanley08 Hello Mr Stan, is it possible to use this on the Franklin R702 Modem that Smile 4G gives? I used to run it on an unlocked Huawei modem from spectranet until I damaged the modem. You have any idea if the smile 4G modem is unlockable and if it can work on it?

Lol. Technically, every modem is unlockable. However, that smile isn't. In the sense that, Franklin told me to contact smile to unlock it for me and smile will not unlock it for you.

So, look for an alternative. Most likely a Huawei one. Cheers.
