These flying coffins again, how many trillions is spent on it again..

The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is the most advanced aircraft in the Pentagon's arsenal, but Russia's powerful over-the-horizon Podsolnukh (Sunflower) radar is capable of detecting and tracking the stealth fifth-generation plane or any other fighter jet that was designed to avoid detection, Svobodnaya Pressa reported.

The Podsolnukh short-range over-the-horizon surface-wave radar is developed by Moscow-based OJSC NPK NIIDAR. The Russian Defense Ministry plans to deploy several of these systems in the Arctic, as well as on Russia's southern and western borders.
The radar is capable of detecting sea surface and air objects at a maximum distance of 500 kilometers (over 310 miles) at different altitudes in line of sight and over the horizon. The Podsolnukh "can simultaneously detect, track and classify up top 300 sea and 100 aerial targets in an automatic mode," the Global Security website detailed.

There is an additional advantage that this type of radars brings to the table. "Short-wave stations see stealth fighter jets as clearly as WWII-era aircraft," Svobodnaya Pressa observed, referring to cutting-edge planes that have been created to avoid detection by radars or sonars, like the F-35.

The Podsolnukh has more to offer. The system could be put online in ten days and needs a team of just three people to stay operational, the media outlet explained. It does not need much power, it is easy to operate and it does not have much equipment. The radar stations have to be placed 370 kilometers apart to receive complete coverage.
Sea- and shore-based OTHR systems are becoming increasingly popular in coastal nations, who want to protect their exclusive economic zones from piracy, smuggling and illegal fishing. They also have military application. The radars could are capable of issuing alerts in case of an invasion or subversive activity.

Three Podsolnukh stations are operational in Russia at the moment. They are located in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Japan and the Caspian Sea.

Because it was never meant to work from the very begining, and the Canadian ruler didn't mince words when he said, ''the plane doesn't work''.

grin So funny and unfortunately probably so cos it's beset with a ton of problems. Avionics: zero. Armaments:zero. Mechanics: zero. Software: zero.

Even the gaddam ejection seat isn't functioning properly. Trudeau wasn't f**king around when he said, "This plane doesn't work". I think he may have added, "Where are the gaddam Suhkois!" grin

I strongly doubt the US government will put out a defence or assault technology that will get easily peed on by some ordinary Russian radar. Lockheed martin is known to always come out with military hardwares that never disappoint in causing the Russians at least 2 to 3 decades of serious headache. So Op forgive me if I dare to your story is fabricated.

lol.. you are funny, fabricated.
first of all have you heard of Podsolnukh ... does it exist or not...

two, the flying coffin, has it started working, battle tested...

can you mention one military machine that has been battle tested that the anglozoo has that is 20 to 30 years ahead of russian or chinese...

we are adults here, if you mention one imaginary junk that has not been battle tested then you are on your own.

at the end of the day you will find out that you are the one fabricating lies and masturbating in your dreams.. you should wake up already

My Luv, You've been avoiding me lately. I've got a beautiful surprise for you. It is called “The Cake of Enki” grin

It has to be consumed in a coital ritual at my garden in Ijebu because the Amerikans might send either of the “RQ-4 or MQ-9 Reaper” to interrupt our rompy-pompy if we opt for a garden in Guam. grin

Come, my paramour, let me satisfy you with a genital like that of a donkey & with emission of a stallion. grin

Have you seen a horse ejaculate before? Prepare yourself for what is coming. grin cheesy grin

You are referencing Sputnik grin a ruskie propaganda machine.

Podsolnukh has never been engaged against the F-35 and no radar currently used by the Russian military matches up to that on the F-35,it has a radar range of up to 2200km,the best Russia has is 400km.You guys just go online and Google anything you find worthy without fact checking your post.Well that's what happens when you are under amnesia,so I don't blame any of you.

You guys are free to believe whatever you want, only fools will buy into your bullshit.Maybe when Israel starts knocking off Russian jets in Syria with the F-35 soon, you'll deviate from your delusions.

My brother, America is good in weaponry, but their propaganda and overhype, works better than the actual weapon itself. Stealth doesn't give you invincibility, it only reduces your chances of being killed, but the crooked Lockhead Martins want you to believe otherwise. You mentioned Lockheed Martin as a yardstick to believe the lies you are being told. If the President of Canada who have his own military experts and advisers, is telling you that "the plane doesn't work," what else do you need to see the obvious that the ediots are just wasting American taxpayers money? sad

Some of you guys need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, you’re believing in total to indifference to what is real. Stealth is useful only against short-wavelength radar of the kind that might be carried on an interceptor or used by a radar-guided missile. Physicists today says no amount of RAM (Radar Absorbent Material) coating will protect you from 15ft to 20ft wavelength radar of the kind the Russians have had since the 1940s. If you are putting F-35 up against the newer generation of much, much more powerful long-wave length Russian radars, as well as the P-14 Tall King family of Cold-War era radars and some of the newer Chinese radars of a ground-to-air unit that would have no difficulty detecting and tracking an approaching F-35, then you just might have to think again.

Take for instance enemy planes like the Sun-35 and its capabilities, even when not stealthy. The Su-35S Super Flanker-E has a comprehensive radio frequency offensive/defensive suite, including Digital RF Memory wingtip RF jammers for the mid/upper bands, and an optional Low/Mid band jamming pod. The addition of the electronic attack (EA) capability complicates matters for Western fighters including the F-35, because the Su-35’s advanced digital radio frequency memory jammers can seriously degrade the performance of friendly radars. It also effectively blinds the on-board radars found on-board air-to-air missiles like the AIM-120 AMRAAM. The Su-35 can also change directions fast at high speed and high-altitude for anyone that does get a long-range no-escape-zone (NEZ) solution on it. Thus, ruining the AIM-120 NEZ for those shots. Unfortunately there is a little margin for error, the large exhaust nozzle of the F-35 will be extremely hot, an enormous fuel burn (in full afterburner) that will limit its range and has a very big heat signature. The back end of the F-35 in full afterburner is something like 1600 degrees (Fahrenheit). In terms of temperature, aluminium combusts at 1100. You are talking about something really, really hot. If you have got a dirty big sensor on the front of your Su-35S or your PAK-FA or whatever, it lights up like Christmas lights and there is nothing you can do about it. The plume because of the symmetric exhaust, is all over the place. It is not shielded, it is not ducted in any useful way. The Sukhois will be able to seek and destroy the F-35 when using the heat seeking BVR (Beyond Visual Range) AA-12 (R-77) Adder air-to-air missiles. But Lockheed Martin will never tell you that.

And BTW: have you forgotten that the F-22 is afraid of the rain? The stealth paint gets wash off by rain and after each flight the F-22 has to be repainted. The same thing will happen to the fat pregnant pig F-35.The F-35 is at best a great national scandal, unproven and at worst the biggest piece of high-tech boondoggle to ever come out of United States of America. Again, if the defence acquisition was up to me, I’ll be certain to kill the F-35 (for more F-22s) and encourage the allies to cancel this lemon too, as a way to put it into the indoor fire and watch it burn for good. grin Or better, take business elsewhere. Lockheed Martin are bunch of crooks, outliers and I’ll never do business with them again. They are certainly a bad bargain for any customer.

It is time to put the F-35 into AMARC and to get them chopped into the recycle bin.

And that's just about it.
