Importexport.. You be Ghost?

Nice policy buh how would they survive when they can't even build a shop nor rent.

In this current harsh economy, you can't even afford to rent a shop in Lagos.

This is just like snatching one's life.

This gonna results to more Violence in the state.

I think it's high time some traders left to their various state of origin.
they should get back to their villages and farm.

they destroy those BRT buses and they think government will just sit-down and look at them

When soldiers set fire to BRT buses, what did the government do??

Even though I support the implementation of this ban, alternate means suppose to be provided for these hawkers to survive.
The only alternate means is to get to their villages and farm.

there was no rational explanation in your submission there is another means for them to sell their goods without hawking around the street most of them take the government for granted thinking that nothing government will do if they cut in the process its a law which was made known to the public respect the law of the land

Am not condemning the LSG! I believe they are doing what is deemed best for their state. Your calling the hawkers goats for trying making a living is what surprised me.

Guy, most of these hawkers n traders don't have enough capital to rent a proper shop, so by Hawking their product they'll be able to make enough money to at least rent a shop. Most people don't knw what the common man is going thru, they sit in their comfort zone n be talking trash..
Bro, think about it..Re these hawkers not still better than those touts (agbero) who forcefully collect money from commercial driver. Let the government take care of those tout first..
. Bros, we can't continue like this.let there be sanity in the state. Lagos is not for everybody, you can actually survive in other part of Nigeria. I started making money from northern part of Nigeria before coming home to Lagos.you can actually make money anywhere you find ur self and not Lagos alone

I do not support street Hawking but Government should temper justice with mercy. More affordable shop should be built so that the hawkers can afford it.

The hard reality! Many should be contemplating leaving Lagos, the earlier the better
Thank you. Only few will understand. They are increasing by the day. They are no different from beggers. It's becoming something else. Everyone wants to come to town like there are jobs for them in this "town".

Even if you are happy that it affects them, think about your own tribe

They are represented too

Lol no wonder some of them chipu-chips sprinters are not online grin

Anyway, I'll rather have them fined instead of arresting them.

I'm in support of this ban tho. Child labour is a no-no and a radical move has to be made to tackle it

The government should also provide alternatives

It's a fine offence..

I think 5'k or 90'k..

One of them..

Re: Ban On Hawking: Traders Arrested In Lagos (Pic) by ventilation: 8:50pm On Jul 04, 2016
Some people are asking for alternative from Ambode, they should not be expecting Lagos to give them what their state governors can't provide for them, Lagos is not FG! I love this new policy thou, everywhere I went today was traffic free, organized, neat $ security agents didn't have to do so much stress. Respect the laws of the land or go back to where you are from except if you are Lagos indigene, don't make unnecessary demand.

Seeing the comments here shows how wicked the ordinary Nigerian have become. You throw someone in jail for life just because they want to feed. If they have alternative will they be there.

Yes the govt said its a fine for 19,000 but if they have that kind of money will they be in the streets. That amount is even more than the recommended minimum wage which many governors are still finding it hard to pay. The reality is that once they are sent to jail and given an option of fine they are likely not going to come out. If you doubt me go to the nearest jail and find out reasons why inmates are there.

In summary the punishment is too harsh

on average how many shop owners last 2 years selling. The average Nigerian wants to turn a rich man over night, always looking for where is greener - that's why we have so many of these street hawkers flooding into cities, increasing by the day. There is no better way to start than placing a ban on it.

The other alternative approved by Ambode is to steal and face street burning.

Now that they are hustling to trade is not good as far as Ambode is concerned.

Don't usually give attention to online bigots, but something just asked me to check your profil, alas its a small child and a 'not-so-smart' one at that

Majority of your comments are tantrums against the igbos and you're actually stupid enough to embark on the online stupidity with your pics attached kid??

Memories fade, time fades, but a Google search never forgets, keep wallowing in stupidity of you think all you need to survive in this world is tribalism

Just for the record, Ambode is being pure wicked as ever.

U have not provided alternative employment but u are passing laws to deny the poor traders the little employment they manage.

Tomorrow, ur task force will chase dem to early grave on the roads and call it accident.
