Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by MaGnificenTB: 8:33pm On Jul 04, 2016
Please how did u get to dis point, I sent a mail to them but this is wat I got ....

Thank you very much for your inquiry.

For new migrants coming to Australia with skilled migration visa or any permanent visa, IOM offers discounted fares and concessional baggage allowance on some carriers operating from/to Australia covered under IOM global agreement.

Unfortunately, there is no flight from your nomincated location under IOM agreement. We can still book you a flight to Australia. However, we can only use non-discounted fares and will not be able to give you any extra baggage allowance, which you should be able to obtain from local travel agencies.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries regarding IOM-assisted travel.

Best regards, IOM Australia

Why would anybody give misinformed advice?

Why did your contact discourage you from studying your preferred course?

Yes, it is easy to get a job in nursing as it is in demand but that should not be the reason to study such a course especially as it relates with dealing with lives. There must be passion for any course in medical profession. A time will come when you lose motivation in money but the passion for it will keep you going. Many people who entered the profession have had their licenses suspended because of errors which is as a result of no passion.

Please always ask for reasons why people give advice.

If it is accounting your interest lies, by all means pursue it. There are as many opportunities for accountants as there are for nurses. What you need is how to effectively package yourself to attract employers.

If you have such a good score in English, shy not apply for PR straight? The money you will spend processing your PR is not half of what you pay in school fees. You can get your PR before your school resumption next year.

How many years of experience do you have in accounting and are you CPA qualified?

Thank you so much, I recently graduated in 2014 and just finished my national service at Ogun state IRS, department of Stamp Duty and Land Matters.
The Accounting program at ECU wil qualify me for CPA.
You know how Nigeria is, what I want presently is Accounting, if not, just anything to land me over there and earn me livelihood.

Read the website of the three assessing body to read their requirements for assessment. From what some accountants posted here previously, with IPA (I think), you can get a positive assessment without ICAN.

Yes, you can use your Nysc experience since you get paid.

However, if you believe student visa is better for you, make sure it is a course you really and will be happy doing.

Goodluck

Mzurch:

if ur in Nigeria kindly go to their office abeg, tried it early this year they frustrated me, and told me to pay extra 9k plus 16k I paid online.
Find out which size of passport is available, if it's 32 or 64.
Why do these simple things don't work in dis countrinent of Nigeria. It woulda made a whole lot of sense for the process was seamless.
