Thank God it is not your village.....You have no human feelings at all.Was GEJ the only president in Nigeria? it was not possible for him to address only problem of ND during his regime
did he at least try a little. He did absolutely nothing in those regions asides enriching criminal elements. What about the governors, the NDDC, what are their contributions. Its in the same vein that it won't be possible for buhari to address their problems since it wasn't possible for gej. And it won't be possible for any other future governments. Just look at what u typed and spewed in a public forum.

Don't blame Shell because the communities get a lot of money from Shell and spend on frivolity instead of basic needs. The major issue remains bad orientation which has caused generational "retrogression" in most oil producing communities. To address it starts from total re-orientation to basic infrastructure.

The most important thing is to understand that oil money does not exist. It is a fiction that has rendered many useless in life. Money only comes from hardwork and innovations not by sitting at home waiting for handouts from Shell and Chevron.
That's what you are meant to believe.the people in shell are Nigerians back in the days when it was Dutch it was way better. What stops them from doing direct labour?

I know people start shouting Buhari.
I expect militant from this place to kidnap odili ,Amaechi, and every senator ,fed Honorable that has ever represented them . who shared the 13% derivatives( this needs to be increased) and huge state allocation/IGR for the past 17years and still neglected them. its only after this that we have the right to complain about PDP and APC or buhari
Oil from the Niger Delta is used to develop the whole country, yet u expect Niger delta leaders alone to take responsibility for their welfare. The whole country shd take responsibility. To whom much is given, much is expected.

No. He will do that after the governors in the state for the last 17 years do theirs.

Yes, it may not have all happened under Buhari. But it is the same mindset of his fellow Fulani generals and coupists that ruled Nigeria with the sole goal of stealing from the south to develop the north.

The money stolen from this desolate place produced shining cities with multiple flyovers in Abuja and Lagos.

Little wonder why the Niger Delta is angrily demanding true federalism or self determination.

" How will the violence cease when everybody's crying for Peace but nobody's calling for justice" - A Wise Man!

And to imagine that entire generations of youths were grown in communities like this? How do you want them to feel?!

Can such theaters of wanton waste and degradation be enacted anywhere else in the North or SouthWest without immediate uproars?

Some exonerate the Oil Comps and blame South-South leaders but it still does not resolve issues neither does that right the wrongs of lives marred and twisted out of shape.

This phenomenon should be seen as a national embarrassment and all resources deployed sort it out. Not just doling out money via Amnesty programmes. You can landscape and re-fertilize land but how do you rehabilitate people after decades of being conformed to this kind of inhumane and subhuman treatment?

I blame the people of Niger Delta for their problems, what more do they want?

1. Ministry of Niger Delta affairs
2. NDDC
3. Their states have the highest of allocations from the federal government.
4. The big oil companies still give the state government and traditional rulers various financial assistance.

And yet they cry that the federal government is neglecting them

How?

Their governors and big boys of these ministries and agencies enrich themselves so much from the same money the federal government is providing to cater for these same set of people crying marginalization, yet they never hold their leaders accountable, they protect them and even cry foul when the federal government tries to hold their leaders accountable for these funds given to them,

Let's ask ourselves these question, since the creation of these ministries, Agencies and bodies responsible for the Niger Delta. Has there ever been any complain of under-funding, including the states themselves, they still receive the highest till date,

So who is the fool here?
so if you're a father and you gave money to your eldest son to take care of his junior ones and he ended up squandering the money alone,

You as a father what will you do?

Will you Tell the the younger ones to fight their eldest brother and get back their share or you will stop giving money to him on behalf of his younger ones(there by seeing ttheir needs directly) and probe your eldest son?

The FG knows the 13% derivatives is being shared by some few individuals but still they kept mute ( who is it falling back on now?)

Why was FG giving direct contracts to some individuals(is that not bribing?and who is it falling back on? Is it not the FG?)
Instead of embarking on physical regional/capital projects that will benefit all they're giving contract to individuals.

I don't know what is wrong with we blacks with being undiplomatic.

You're not from that region so you don't understand an inch of what's happening, all you people do is come on nairaland and type anything you want.

The person I blame is my clueless figure head brother (GEJ) that was smiling away the future of our region

He was the President of Nigeria for 5 years. That meant that he had other concerns besides the Niger Delta, such as:
Building schools for people whose parents refuse to send them to school
Building universities (in the North)
Dealing with Islamic insurgents in the North
Making deals for the renovation of the rail network
Selling Nigeria's potential at the World Economic Forum

You forget that these Niger Delta states have governors. Akwa Ibom and Cross River State have used their resources well, you can see the work that has been done. Bayelsa had seen practically no development from independence until it became a state, they've been working to get up to speed. Rivers, on the other hand, is a disgrace. So much money has been wasted in that state - from the monorail to the world class hospital that never was.
my guy, sit again and reflect on all you have just posted. now I know juju is still very effective. how can a sensible, reasonable and responsible man neglect his home and go out to build other people's home and you are holding brief for him. niger delta problem has been there before he became president and common sense demand that it should have been his primary task to develop it, in stead he decides to use divide and rule tactics to the detriment of the larger populace of his region. ask asari dokunbo where his investment are?

For him to show favoritism to his area of the country is to be bad President. He had to be impartial.

Besides, he didn't 'neglect' his home. The plans for the rail network were for the train to run through Otuoke. Not sure what Amaechi has done to those plans.

What 'divide and rule tactics' do you speak of?

Lol!!! How u must defend GEJ by spitting on Amaechi's face. You even mentioned monorail that the opposition hanged their campaign on but left out the 6 star hotel alams started that is still standing like a bereaved woman. As a gov and president GEJ failed his pple. Amaechi on the other hand did well in rivers state save for politics.
The almajiri sub standard schools built by GEJ could not even survive his tenure UN office, yet that is what you will placate as one of his achievements.

Who knows if there are state governors in the North or not.

They don't seem to do anything besides collect oil rent for other people's lands.

I'm an ijaw from bomadi
so I can state clearly that we in the Niger Delta are our greatest enemies.
In my village NDDC has commissioned 3 boreholes
none of them is working
why will they work
when NDDC sends contractors to build d boreholes, youths will chase them to the bush for their own share. until they are settled work won't begin
sometimes they are kidnapped harassed and maimed because they left their livelihoods to come and develop our land. Thus how much will be left to carry out the actual project.
that's why I laugh about the NDA guys cos they are all about themselves. If people talk, they'll likely get killed. that's how it is in the Niger Delta. its a vicious cycle.
I'm pained that's why I didn't boda with punctuations and all.

Amaechi is the Minister for Transport, he may decide to scupper the old plans for the railway.

During GEJ Akwa Ibom and Cross River states did well. There was a lot of construction going on in Bayelsa too.

It's not for the President to do everything - the states are responsible for most areas. It's only for the President to sign laws into effect and direct policies that will create an enabling environment for business to flourish. That happened under GEJ, that isn't happening now.

Ideally the states would be more powerful and the federal government smaller and weaker, sadly some people don't want that because they like having one man to blame for problems he neither caused nor is responsible for.

Truth be told...Nigeria really need to focus on other forms of generating revenue...cos from my own point of view,if this oil stops running today...the Niger Delta People will be left to suffer for it...No development...No Good roads...No Good water...Then add oil to the equation...No oil...wetin dem go take survive?...i think its high time each state is allowed to control its own resources...some states produce little or even nothing at all...all they do is to wait for federal Govt allocation...To tell u d truth...This country is turning in a circle...We aren't moving forward....I've lost my faith in one Nigeria...if this is really democracy as they say it is...then i think they should let the people decide what they want....
