tynnuhluv. i agree with AlphaHandMaiden. that is a nasty rash. have you taken her to see a doctor?

i think she is reacting to diaper/nappy or wipes or both. i will suggest you stop whatever brand of diaper/nappy/wipe you are using and try something else. you also need to change her diaper often.

i have never had to treat nappy rash for my son and even the free sample sudocream i received, i have never opened it. i have stuck to the same brand of wipes - huggies or pampers and i have also stuck to the same brand of diapers - pampers or mamma mia. now that getting him to stay put during diaper change is a battle, i have moved him to pampers pullup pants which i give 5 stars and i have said good bye to mamma mia. so look for a brand that suits your daughter's skin and stick to it. sometimes we think some certain brands are 'expensive' but when you compare the amount of money one will spend buying sudocream, drugs, etc treating one rash or the other, it makes no economic sense.

in addition to the ointments, coconut oil, et al suggested by AlphaHandMaiden, you should also use good ol' vaseline (original vaseline blue seal). after every nappy change, if possible, wash her bum with water and apply vaseline. i apply vaseline on my son's bum as oftern as i can after each nappy change. you might also have to change her body cream. if its not the cold pressed 'white' coconut oil, then its best you stick to good ol' vaseline.

[I use molfix diaper bt only at nite for nw. Will try d baby bottom butter tnx so much.

Oh dear, that looks really nasty.
What nappy and wipes are you using? And how often do you usually change her?

If she is reacting to the nappy, no amount of cream will help if the source is not eliminated.

Try changing the brands you currently use and increase frequency of changing.

I dont know if this will help but considering all the other creams that have been used... there is no harm in trying:

I make my own baby bottom butter with equal quantities of:
Cocoa butter
Shea butter
Cold pressed coconut oil( it should be colourless )
And
Charmomile essential oil ( if you can get) only a few drops are needed

You can adjust the coconut oil quantity depending on the how hard or soft you want the bum butter to be.

If you cant find the essential oil... try chamomile tea bags which may be easier to get. you could make an infusion of charmomile tea and when cooled either rinse the area with it or use it as a wipe solution with a small face towel to wipe babies bum.

Good luck and i hope you get a solution soon.

mama ekene, 6poos+ a day is much oh. thats officially diarrhoea in my own opinion.

i think you should watch what he is eating and cut back on any fruits, etc.

my son has only pooed that much once since i began weaning him at 6months. an overzealous nursery staff fed him with apple, banana, raisens, apricots. . . . all in one day. i picked him up at the end of the day only to be told he had pooed 5 times shocked shocked as OTC medication to treat runny poo for babies aren't sold at my end, i decided to try the 'salt and sugar solution' to see if it will work before taking him to the hospital.

i boiled water, allowed it cool down (warm temperature) and then added two tea spoons of salt and one tea spoon of sugar. i tasted it to ensure it wasnt too salty or too sweet, filled my son's feeding bottle and gave him to drink, i think he drank about 10ml or so and that was the end of the runny poo. i have suggested the method to a friend and it worked for her too, so maybe you should try it.

if however after using the salt and sugar mix the poo continues, please go the hospital. diarrhoea in babies should not be taken lightly.

in additition to watching his meals, hygenie is very important. this also applies to other mums that have been experiencing runny poo in their babies. it is important to ensure every water your child drinks/used to prepare cereal is boiled. this also applies to nestle water and any other reputable brand of bottled or satchet water.

baby's bowls, spoons, bottles, etc should always be properly sterilised after each use. 'rinsing' a used bottle or plate after use with hot water is not the same as sterilisation. sterilisation can be done on a budget - get a clean bucket with a cover, place all baby's feeding items inside it, boil water in a pot and ensure it boils properly and then pour the hot water into the bucket and cover it. most importantly, we must wash our hands with soap and water - before preparing our baby's meals and if possible after every nappy change.

my son is 9months +. he has got 4 teeth on his lower gum and 2 teeth already springing out on his upper gum and i have not had to deal with any 'teething poo' throughout.

Tynnuhluv, when my SiL's s dd had it, she used baby tetmosol soap for her.
Air her bum if possible all night.
Also pat dry ( not rub, pat it gently) after cleaning her bum before you put on her diaper. Change often like every 4 hours even without poop.
Then use olive oil as bum rub with sudocreme.

Dear tynnuhluv, there is this red flower that works very well for eela,I don't know the name but it has both a green and red specie. Please ask around for it,when you get it,boil it and pour the water into a bath,it should not be too hot, then put her inside.

Then get efirin(scent leaves) plus coconut oil, squeeze the juice from the leaves mix it with the oil and apply on the affected part. Also try and limit the sugar both of you take.

Why do you want him to poo once? Mama Nawa for u o! Babies keep adjusting so abeg free him. Are there no times you go more than once or twice a day? The summary of my talk is you should let the baby be.

Haaaaaaa, dis your wish made me laugh ooo.
Pls leave that baby alone oooo. EBF babies tend to poo more , some even poo after each feed. You just have to deal with it for now.

Hello sabi mama, happy holiday.
Pls my ds 14weeks immunization was last Tuesday. When I got to the clinic, the security men said no clinic because of public holiday. Immunization is done every Tuesday and Thursday. Since there's holiday today too, I'll have to wait till next week Tuesday. Then D's will be 15weeks 4days old. Google says one shouldn't miss the immunization. I hope it won't have any effect. Really, nurses shouldn't be having holidays. I use SOS clinic center

Nurses are humans too like the rest of us and they need/deserve holidays.

Except for A&E, maternity and other critical departments, "basic hospitals" (GP surgeries) where basic healthcare such as immunisation are administered do not open 24/7.

Ideally, you should have planned the immunisation few days before she hit the 15weeks mark and just before the public holiday. Anyway, a few days late won't make any difference as you not technically missing or skipping her shots, so just take her there next week smiley

Malaria in adults especially breastfeeding mothers should not be taken lightly. Please do not go with "word of mouth" prescription. Go and see a doctor.

The doctor will prescribe the most suitable malaria drug that's safe to use as you are breastfeeding. Do not forget that any medication a breastfeeding mum takes can easily find its way to her breast milk and the wrong medication could have adverse effects on a breastfed child.

Maybe you should watch what you eat.

Are you eating too much sugary things, too much fruits, too much carbs? Try and change your diet and see if the poo will reduce.

I think 5 soiled diapers a day at that age is too much.
Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Liftedhands(f): 11:56am On Jul 07, 2016
Thanks to all that answered my question God bless.

The poop has reduced, yesterday was twice and so far today only once! My guess is too much food and his body not being able to process all at once hence it being passed out as waste! I've reduced the number of times I feed him, will watch and see how it goes.

Cherrymum1 how's Lami? I pray what your mum said be true o! My son must tall like his dad o grin he can't come and goan be down to earth like me biko embarassed

pls mums, my little boo lost parts of his hair due to cradle crap, it's up to a month now it have not grown back fully, should I cut off d whole hair or wait patiently for it to full and equal d remaining hair or is there anything I can apply? am tired of answering peoples questions about his hair.

cc: onegai helovesme alphahandmaiden zaynie tchiwinnie ozycy soonest kaffy4bill and other sabi mums
thanks in advance

My dear. Cut it all off and you will be amazed how it will grow back - full and healthy.

A friend had cradle cap for both her kids. I saw the picture of the second child recently and I couldn't believe it - very full Afro hair.

However, after cutting his hair you have to adopt a regime to encourage healthy hair growth. Wash his hair once a week. I recommend sebamed shampoo. Yes, it's slightly expensive but it's very economical. A little goes a long way and it will leave your son's hair soft and easy to comb. I have used the small bottle for almost 4 months and I still have about half/quarter left. On days you do not wash his hair, just rinse it with water or "wipe" gently with a damp towel.

Then get Shea butter and original coconut oil (cold pressed) and not the locally made one. Mix both together and apply it daily on his scalp.

I have adopted this regime for my son since he was about 3 months old and his hair is really full. I had to trim it a bit with scissors at 5 months (before i discovered sebamed shampoo) as I was struggling to comb it. I would have trimmed it again by now but the shampoo has made it easy to comb his hair although on non-wash days we both drag the comb small. grin
