The teachable partner:

We are born different, we look different, our life stories are different, our perceptions are different, our villages or tribes may be different, yet in a relationship or marriage it pays that we are the same.

How can we be the same when we are different. If you live with ur siblings and parents of same blood and yet quarels and disagreements abound, how more when u llve with a total stranger who relationship with u is bound by the intangible trait of feelings of love.

Life is the greatest teacher, learning is a constant process, even when you die , you learn because its a new process and u haven't died before. The same applies to living. We must learn how to live with one another in peace and harmony. Thus everyone must be a teachable fellow. You must be teachable to ur spouse and your spouse must be teachable to you.

To expect that there is a woman or man out there with all the traits u desire is a fallacy. It doesn't exist. This means that like a good workman you must learn to reshape ur partner to be ur best fit. You must learn to admit the learning curve required to be the best patner must be adhered to and done with patience.

She no sabi cook, tell am make she learn, she no sabi clean tell am make she learn, he no sabi Bleep tell am make he learn, he get low ambition, tell am make him upgrade. This isn't synomymous with picking faults. Its rather a fine tuning of ur partner to better fit the relationship model. The ability of a partner to make changes and compromises for you, speaks a lot about his/her overall interest in the relationship.

A partner who is unteachable is a bad sign, indicates an indicies to a failed marriage. And should not be tolerated. Thus do not expect to find all good traits in any man or woman, the concept of prince charming and cinderella is a myth. You must fine tune and build ur partners to better fit your relationship model.
